【2025原创】China has successfully put a group of three satellites into a
special place in space between the Earth and the Moon. This is the world’s first
group like this using a path called the Distant Retrograde Orbit, or DRO. This
success helps China explore space better and prepares for future human journeys
into deep space.

The three satellites are named DRO-A, DRO-B, and DRO-L. DRO-L was
already in space near the Earth. DRO-A and DRO-B joined it later. Now, these
three satellites can measure things and talk to each other.
What is DRO? It’s a special, very stable path far from the Earth. Satellites
in DRO don’t need much fuel to stay there. This makes DRO a good place, like
a space hub or station, connecting the Earth, the Moon, and deep space.
Getting DRO-A and DRO-B into orbit wasn’t easy. When they were
launched in March 2024, the rocket had a problem, and they didn’t reach the
right path. Scientists had to act quickly. They carefully changed the satellites’
direction many times in an emergency rescue. After a very long journey, the
satellites finally reached the correct DRO path.

Later, the three satellites successfully linked up. This achievement shows
China is very skilled at solving problems in deep space and guiding satellites
automatically. Importantly, the team found a way to use much less fuel to enter
the DRO path, making space exploration cheaper. They also tested communication
between the satellites over long distances.
China will use these satellites to learn more about space around the Moon
and do new science experiments there.#5.3

1.Why is the DRO path described as special?( )
A
A.It’s very stable and helps save fuel.
B.It is closer to the Earth than the Moon.
C.It’s the fastest way to get to the Moon.
D.Only China knows how to use this path.
【解析】细节理解题。根据第三段可知,DRO轨道非常稳定,卫星在此轨道运行所
需燃料很少,这使其成为一个连接地球、月球和深空的理想空间枢纽。故选A项。

2.Why does the writer mention the challenges faced by DRO-A and DRO-
B?( )
D
A.To criticize the rocket’s design.
B.To compare them with DRO-L.
C.To explain why the satellites failed.
D.To show how difficult the mission was.
【解析】推理判断题。文章第四段详细描述了DRO-A和DRO-B发射时遇到的问题,
是为了强调这次任务的艰巨性。故选D项。

3.Which of the following is true about China’s DRO satellite project?( )
C
A.The satellites were designed to study the Moon’s surface.
B.DRO-A and DRO-B reached the correct orbit without any problems.
C.The three satellites can communicate and work together as a team.
D.DRO-L was launched after DRO-A and DRO-B reached the DRO path.
【解析】细节理解题。根据第二段的“Now, these three satellites can
measure things and talk to each other.”以及第五段的“Later, the three
satellites successfully linked up.”可知,这三颗卫星能够相互通信并协同
工作。
