On 23 July 2020, China’s first Mars lander, Tianwen-1, was sent into space from Wenchang, Hainan Island. The spacecraft takes its name from 1 ancient poem by Qu Yuan (340-278 BCE). “Tianwen” 2 (mean) “Questions to Heaven” and expresses China’s 3 (determine) to explore the universe.
