A video has been widely spread on the Internet. In the video, a foreigner is driving a Sanbengzi—a domestic electric tricycle. Sanbengzi can be equipped (装备) with normal tires to pull passengers through the city. It can also be equipped with off-road tires to act as tool trucks to carry heavy things. Its low price and convenience have made it popular among many foreigners.
It’s not just in the U. S. You can also hear the warning sound—“Please watch out! I’m backing up!”—on the streets of France, the U.K. and Canada. Some Western people have even called Sanbengri “the dream car”.

Many Western people are now looking for greener ways to get around. This has given Guowei a golden chance to develop its foreign markets. To make Sanbengzi more suitable for local needs in different markets, the company has done a lot of research. More than 100 types of tricycles have been developed as a result.

Do you love warm summer evenings? Lightning bugs (萤火虫) make evenings magical. It is wonderful to run after them.
Lightning bugs are also known as fireflies, meaning they are living creatures (生物) that produce light. Fireflies are easy to be seen because of their bright light. But where do they go when the sun rises? Do fireflies hide underground to wait for the light to return? Or do they cover themselves with the sunlight to get more energy?
In fact, fireflies don’t hide underground. They don’t need sunlight to charge (充电) their light, either. So why do they disappear during the day?
Fireflies are usually only active at night. They spend most of their daylight hours on the ground among tall grasses. These plants help fireflies hide during the day. So even though you might not see them when the sun rises, fireflies are hanging around among the tall grasses. Another reason why you might not notice fireflies during the day is that they might not be there!
Fireflies have very short life cycles. The larvae (幼虫) usually live for about one year before they become adults and lay eggs that will hatch into new fireflies. The adult fireflies give out light, but they can only live for 7 to 10 days on average.
Fireflies are interesting creatures, and there are still many mysteries about them. For example, fireflies aren’t really flies at all. They are beetles (甲虫)!
There are over 2,000 types of fireflies all over the world. And not all fireflies give out light.
68. What’s the theme of the passage?
A. Art. B. Nature. C. Technology. D. History.
69 Why are lightning bugs also called fireflies?
A. Because it is fun to run after them. B. Because they can produce light.
C. Because they don’t come out at night. D. Because they can live without sunlight.
70. What’s the use of the underlined sentences in the passage?
A. To compare fireflies with other bugs. B. To remind readers of the meaning of life.
C. To lead readers to be interested in fireflies. D. To help readers learn more about creatures.
71. What’s the main idea of Paragraph 4?
A. Why fireflies hide underground. B. Why fireflies don’t need sunlight to live.
C. Why we don’t see fireflies during the day. D. Why fireflies are usually only active during the day.
72. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Fireflies belong to beetles. B. Fireflies live for 7 to 10 years.
C. All fireflies can give out light. D. Fireflies are magical creatures in winter.

Would you be able to go through a whole day without using a single light bulb (电灯泡)? Most people probably wouldn’t.
Today, almost every building uses light bulbs to get light. Although we use them daily without much thought, light bulbs were once quite expensive and the newest technology. Many people’s hard work led to the light bulb’s invention, which has changed our life greatly.
The first light bulbs are known as incandescent (白炽的) light bulbs. Today, we use energy-saving bulbs that are better for the environment. An American engineer invented the first LED in 1962. An LED light bulb uses one-third of the electricity and lasts longer.
In 1802, a British scientist invented the first electric light. Other British scientists invented the first constant (连续不断的) stream of electric light in 1835, although the light didn’t shine very long. In the following years, scientists experimented with light bulb filaments (灯丝) made of different materials, hoping to invent a longer stream of electric light. In 1860, Joseph Swan found a material that could produce good light, but it burned out quickly. By then, none of the light bulbs created were ready to be sold to the public for everyday use. Then, in 1879, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. He spent much time researching what other scientists had done. He and his team spent years experimenting with light bulb filaments. They finally invented the first light bulb that could send out constant electric light for 1,200 hours in 1880.
Light bulbs were safer and easier to use than candles. Increasing use of light bulbs resulted in people being able to have a longer workday, so people worked longer than before. Light bulbs also led to changes in building designs. People created windowless buildings, and lights could be placed in lifts and other new places. So without doubt, the light bulb is really a great invention and benefits us a lot.
73. Put the things happened in the correct order.
a. An American engineer invented the first LED.
b. A British scientist created the first electric light.
