Little Johnny lived in a poor village. One summer day Johnny’s mother sent him to the field to pick up some dried wood for the fire.
Johnny worked very hard. By the time the sun was high, he was very hot and wished for a cool place to rest and have some food. As he walked along, he found some fine, wild blueberries.
“How good these will be with my bread and butter,” thought Johnny. He picked up all of the blueberries. As he was lifting the first blueberry to his mouth, he remembered his sick mother. With this in mind, he put the blueberry back again.

Cryptocurrencies have taken the financial world by storm in recent years. Bitcoin, the first and most well - known cryptocurrency, was introduced in 2009. Cryptocurrencies are digital or virtual currencies that use cryptography for security.

For example, the price of Bitcoin has experienced wild fluctuations, sometimes rising or falling by thousands of dollars in a short period. Additionally, the lack of regulation makes them vulnerable to illegal activities such as money laundering and fraud. There are also concerns about the environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining, as it requires a large amount of energy.

A. Traditional paper currencies.
B. Digital or virtual currencies using cryptography for security.

A. Volatile value, lack of regulation, and environmental impact.
B. They are too easy to use.
C. They are only used by a few people.
D. They are too expensive to mine.

He thought how refreshing they would be for her, yet was still looking at them with a longing eye.
“I will eat half, and take the other half to her,” he said. He divided them into two parts, but each part looked small. He put them together again.
“I will only eat one,” he thought.
But, as he again lifted it to his mouth, he saw that he had taken the finest, and he put it back.
When the sun was beginning to sink, Johnny set out for home. How happy he felt, then, that he had all his blueberries for his mother.
He heard his mother’s faint (虚弱的) voice calling him. “Is that you, Johnny? I am thirsty, and am longing for some tea.”
Johnny ran to her and joyfully offered his wild blueberries. “And you saved them for your sick mother, didn’t you?” said she, laying her hand lovingly on his head, with tears in her eyes.

Cryptocurrencies have taken the financial world by storm in recent years. Bitcoin, the first and most well - known cryptocurrency, was introduced in 2009. Cryptocurrencies are digital or virtual currencies that use cryptography for security.
One of the main features of cryptocurrencies is their decentralized nature. Unlike traditional currencies that are regulated by central banks, cryptocurrencies operate on a technology called blockchain. A blockchain is a distributed ledger that records all transactions across a network of computers. This means that no single entity has control over the currency.
However, the rise of cryptocurrencies also brings several issues. Their value can be extremely volatile.
34.What are cryptocurrencies?
A. Traditional paper currencies.
B. Digital or virtual currencies using cryptography for security.
C. Currencies only used in illegal activities.
D. Currencies regulated by central banks.
35.What is the main feature of cryptocurrencies?
A. They are controlled by central banks.
B. They are always stable in value.
C. They are decentralized and operate on blockchain.

A. Volatile value, lack of regulation, and environmental impact.
B. They are too easy to use.
C. They are only used by a few people.
D. They are too expensive to mine.
37.Why are cryptocurrencies vulnerable to illegal activities?
A. Because they are too popular.
B. Because they lack regulation.
C. Because they are digital.
D. Because they are too valuable.
【答案】34.B 35.C 36.A 37.D
34.根据文中 “Cryptocurrencies are digital or virtual currencies that use cryptography for security.”
35.由 “One of the main features of cryptocurrencies is their decentralized nature. Unlike traditional currencies that are regulated by central banks, cryptocurrencies operate on a technology called blockchain.”
36.根据 “However, the rise of cryptocurrencies also brings several issues. Their value can be extremely volatile... Additionally, the lack of regulation makes them vulnerable to illegal activities such as money laundering and fraud. There are also concerns about the environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining...”
37.由 “Additionally, the lack of regulation makes them vulnerable to illegal activities such as money laundering and fraud.”
