Passage 1
(24-25七年级上·佛山南海实验中学·期末)
Do you like doing housework? Many kids do housework, such as doing the dishes, making the bed and folding the clothes. In exchange, they may get some money or computer time.
Paying kids for housework is one of the most popular topics. Some parents think since adults are paid to do their jobs, they should pay kids for everyday housework. But some people don’t think kids should get rewards for doing housework. Susie Walton, an expert, believes that by rewarding kids, parents are sending a message that work isn’t worth doing unless you get something in return. “Doing any kind of housework requires a team effort,” Walton said. “Home is a living space for everyone in the family. It’s important for kids to see that everyone has duties at home, and that family members decide how they want their home to look, and how they are going to keep it looking like what they want.”
Other people believe that getting a reward encourages kids to do housework, and that it also teaches them real-world lessons about how we need to work to get money. There are also apps that give kids points and digital gifts that can be redeemed (兑换) either online or in the real world. “Kids need rewards to help encourage them to do housework,” said Chris Bergman.

A.By giving an example. B.By asking a question. C.By listing numbers. D.By describing facts.
Passage 2
(24-25七年级上·东莞中学初中部·期末)
Do you have a smartphone? How many hours do you spend on your smartphone every day? It’s very useful—we can use it to take photos, play games or study. But it can also cause (造成) problems. A large number of people spend over 4 hours a day using their phones—that’s 1,460 hours a year, from a study by Thames. So, if we use smartphones too much, they can become harmful (有害的).
Using smartphones too much can be bad for students’ study. What about sleep? Many studies suggest that long smartphone time is bad for students’ sleep, too. It can make it hard to fall asleep and even harder to wake up in the morning.
To figure out (弄清楚) if using smartphones too much causes poor sleep, scientists asked 1,043 British students aged between 18 and 30 to finish two questionnaires (问卷). And they learned that using smartphones too much brings people poor sleep. Almost 70% of the students who use smartphones too much have poor sleep.
If you have a smartphone, it’s a good idea to put down your phone before you go to sleep. Try spending less time on smartphones, and see what happens.

Passage 3
(24-25七年级上·汕头市实验学校·期末)
①Where do you usually study on the weekends? Some students like to study at the library while others like to study at home better. What is the difference between a library and a living room? Which is better for studying?
②Many students find the comfort of their own space helpful for studying. A familiar (熟悉的) environment can make it easier to face stress. You have all your things around you, and you don’t have to spend extra (额外的) money on lunch. You can study day or night and stop for a break whenever you want. There are a lot of advantages (优点) to study at home.
③However, it’s not without problems. Your comfortable bed may keep you from studying. Have you ever been told not to mistake a place to rest for a place to work? If your bedroom becomes a place for both, your mind may do both tasks (任务) badly.
④Libraries are specially designed (设计) for people to study in. There are many kinds of helpful books, and you can meet other students and set up a study group. But libraries also have their disadvantages. They are often crowded. It can be hard to get a seat. And there may be noise from people typing (打字) on their computers.
⑤It can be difficult to decide whether your home or the library is a better place to study. You need to try them out. For example, take a task like reading. First, try studying in your living room. Then, go to the library and read a different part of the same book. After trying each, take notes to describe how you felt and how well you were able to study. This way you can find out which study environment is better for you.
11.How does the writer lead into the topic at the beginning of the text?
A.By giving examples. B.By asking questions. C.By comparing numbers. D.By showing problems.
12.What do you know about studying at home according to the text?
A.If you study at home, it can be difficult for you to face stress.
B.If you study in the bedroom, you will finish your tasks very well.
C.If you study in the bedroom, it may make you feel excited easily.
D.If you study at home, you won’t need to pay more money for lunch.
13.What’s the main purpose (目的) of the last paragraph?
A.To tell us which is the better place to study. B.To tell us why to choose a better place to study.
C.To advise us where to find a better place to study. D.To advise us how to decide a better place to study.
14.What’s the structure (结构) of the text?
A.①//②③④⑤ B.①//②③//④⑤ C.①//②③④//⑤ D.①②//③④//⑤
15.What’s the best title for the text?

Passage 2
(24-25七年级上·东莞东华初级中学·期末)
The earth is about 4.6 billion years old. We humans have lived on the earth for only 35,000 years, but during this period, we have changed our planet in many ways.
All over the world, people have cut down millions of trees. Forests have become deserts, and so many kinds of animals and plants are disappearing. Factories have also polluted the land and the water. As a result, many rivers and lakes are now “dead”.
Around the earth, there’s a special kind of oxygen called “ozone”. Now air pollution is destroying it and making a very big hole in the ozone layer. Too much harmful radiation from the sun passes through the hole and reaches the earth directly. This is very dangerous, because it can cause cancer.
Carbon dioxide in the air has increased a lot. It mainly comes from different kinds of burning oil, coal and wood. This has formed a “blanket” around the earth. The heat from the sun can’t escape, so the temperature is rising. This is called “the greenhouse effect”. It causes the level of the ocean to rise and the climate of the earth to change.
All these problems are very serious, so we must do something now.

C.The sunlight that reaches the earth can cause cancer. D.The greenhouse effect may cause the level of the ocean to rise.
9.What can the best title for the passage?
A.Environmental Problems B.Hope for the Future C.Pollution on the Earth D.The Greenhouse Effect
主题03 人与自我——爱好
Passage 1
(24-25七年级上·深圳外国语学校初中部·期末)
Hobbies in general are becoming something of the past. Our schedules are packed with school, homework, jobs, relationships, and sleep. When we do find some free time, it’s easy to fill it with all the entertainment and media that are always around us.
I believe there are people out there with the potential (潜能) to become great writers or musicians. However, I worry that many people are so busy with school and work that they don’t see their own potential. The next big photographer or singer might be sitting in a college class right now, but they might not even know they have a talent for taking photos or singing because they’ve never tried it.
The point of having a hobby isn’t to get rich or famous. For most of us, a hobby is just something we enjoy doing for the purpose of the thing itself. Such hobbies are still very useful. Studies have shown that people who have a hobby are less likely to have stress and more likely to have more meaningful lives.
Most importantly, a hobby is something that brings you joy. Let’s face it: we all have a long road ahead filled with work and stress. Finding a way to relax, like playing the piano or starting a collection, can make the journey much smoother.
Sure, it’s not easy to start a new hobby while going to school, but it will likely never get easier than it is right now. So, think about that thing you’ve always wanted to try but felt too shy or too busy to start. You never know, you might become the world’s next great person. If not, you’ll at least be a little more well-rounded, more interesting and less stressed.
1.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.The pressure of school and work.
B.The importance of having a hobby.
C.The struggle of finding time for hobbies.
D.The benefits of being a great writer or musician.
2.Who is the author talking about when they mention “the next big photographer or singer”?
A.People who are already famous.
B.People who are currently in college.
C.People who are too busy to pursue their hobbies.
D.People who have already discovered their talents.
3.What are the benefits of having a hobby according to the passage?
A.It can improve your job chances in your life.
B.It can make you rich and famous in your life.
C.It can help you meet more friends in your life.
D.It can lower stress and add meaning to your life.
Passage 2
(24-25七年级上· 佛山华英学校·期末)
①Do you like to travel alone? Or do you think it’s better to travel with friends? I will explain the advantages (优点) of both ways.
②One of the great things about travelling alone is that you make the rules about where you go and what you eat. You’ll be surprised at what you discover about yourself. Travelling alone really shows who you really are and helps you to discover inner strength. Besides, it also gives you time to think, learn and grow. When your eyes are wide open, you’ll get a whole new look at the world.
③It’s easy to think that travelling alone is lonely. Although that may sometimes be true, you’re hardly ever alone. When you travel in a one-person team, this can provide a chance for you to enjoy the most interesting part of travel—communicating with the local people and meeting travelers from all corners of the world.
④In fact, travelling to know more about the world is not easy. You need to do research and make choices. And things can often go wrong. One of the main advantages of travelling with friends is being able to share these things and help each other through the way.
⑤Just as your mother always says, it’s true that travelling with others can give you a feeling of safety, especially when you’re new to travel. If you get lost or have any trouble, there’s someone to hold your hand.
⑥There’s no right or wrong way to travel. Whether you travel alone or team up with friends, it depends on you.
4.How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage in Para.1?
A.By telling a story. B.By giving examples.
C.By asking questions. D.By using numbers.
5.What does the underlined word “it” refer to?
A.Travelling alone. B.Inner strength.
C.Going travelling. D.Travelling with others.
6.Which of the following is NOT an advantage of travelling with friends?
A.Sharing a lot of things. B.Knowing yourself better.
C.Getting help easily. D.Having a feeling of safety.
7.What’s the main idea of Paragraph2 ?
A.The advantage of travelling with friends. B.The advantage of travelling alone.
C.How to get a whole new look at the world? D.How to travel alone?
8.What’s the structure (结构) of the passage?
A.①/②③/④⑤/⑥ B.①/②③④/⑤/⑥
C.①/②/③④/⑤/⑥ D.①/②③④/⑤⑥

I think it is good for teachers to use WeChat (微信) in class. When they ask a question, everyone is happy to answer it on WeChat. They don’t have to put up their hands (举起手), but just write on it. And the emojis (表情符号) are fun to use.

Passage 2
(24-25七年级上·广州市海珠区·期末)
I just got Snapchat over this weekend. But it’s not something I did willingly. Social media has become part of our culture. Without it, I can’t be accepted (被接受) by others.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m a social person: I love talking to people, I love joking around, and I love simply being with other people. What I hate is the end of a good conversation—people ask for my Snapchat. There’s nothing more awkward (尴尬的) than saying “I don’t do social media.” So I gave in. I got Snapchat.
In fact, social media takes away a part of you—the real social part of your life. And it leaves you feeling empty inside. I’m not saying people will come into Snapchat social people and come out not knowing how to talk. However, it does take away your social skill.
Social media gives you time to think about what to say, but that doesn’t always happen in real life. When you’re on social media, you might have to wait a while to receive a message. There really is no awkward silence(沉默). When you have nothing to say, you can just stop talking. However, when you’re talking to a real person, you cannot just walk away. You are not being polite that way. Snapchat harms(损害) our ability to deal with awkwardness in real-life talks. In other words, social media kills our ability to keep conversations alive.
Another thing about Snapchat is that it’s been like a drug, the lonely drug. Many people think if they don’t have any friends in real life, maybe they will have some on social media. But even people with many “friends” on social media feel lonely sometimes.
It’s reported that social media brings many problems. Why do people use social media in the first place? I think it’s because they can’t accept the fact that sometimes the old ways work the best.
6.The writer got Snapchat over this weekend because ________.
A.he felt he had to do it B.he is a very shy person
C.he wanted to get news D.he loves using social media
7.What social skill does social media take away from people?
A.Starting a talk with strangers. B.Listening to others when they talk.
C.Keeping conversations going in real life. D.Ending a conversation whenever they want.
8.The writer probably agrees that ________.
A.social media is not as good as people think
B.the use of social media harms people’s health
C.talking on social media makes people more popular
D.friends on social media help people deal with loneliness

Why should you work hard and feel sore (酸痛的) the next day? Wouldn’t it be better to forget sports and only pay attention to your lessons? In fact, there are a lot of reasons to play sports.
②First of all, sports are a great way to exercise. Exercising keeps you healthy and strong. It also helps you stay in a good condition. When you exercise, your body makes endorphins (安多芬) which give you more energy and make you feel happier.
③Also, sports teach young people how to communicate and work as a team. They teach young people to respect (尊重) their coaches, teammates and players from the other team. Many reports say that sports help young people stay out of trouble. If a young person plays sports, he or she may have fewer problems. This is because sports teach people about rules. Passage3
(24-25七年级上·深圳中学初中部·期末)
Even though some students hate wearing school uniforms, there are several reasons why school uniforms are necessary.
They Create a Sense of Unity and Identity
School uniforms show a sense of identity (身份) and unity in a school. By dressing in the same way, students may feel like they are all part of something bigger. Uniforms often change a school from simply a place to something they are part of.
Uniforms allow students to give schools a visible identity—something which students can be proud of. Uniforms create an idea of “us” as opposed to students from other schools.
They Prevent Bullying
At school, all students should be seen as equal (平等的) among their friends. If students wore their everyday clothes, there might be a great difference between what rich students wear and what poor students wear. Children may be bullied if they weren’t able to keep up with the latest and often more expensive fashion trends.
Make sure that children should all wear the same uniform and it is one way to reach this goal. Students will find enough reasons to bully (霸凌) each other on their own—we don’t need to give them any more reasons.
They Are Necessary for Safety
School uniforms make it easier to distinguish (区分) between students and strangers. School uniforms make it easy to tell when there’s a non-uniformed stranger, and possibly an unwanted stranger in the schoolyard. It would be easier for teachers to take action in time to protect the children.
They Allow for Other Forms of Expression
While schools should let students express (表达) themselves and find out who they are, this process is more than just about one’s clothing. Having a uniform on, students can then express themselves in other ways. There is no need to worry about what to wear every day. And this could make them spend more time on what is really important.
8.How many reasons does the writer give to support that uniforms are necessary?
A.two B.three C.four D.five
9.What does “them” in the fifth paragraph refer to?
A.clothes B.uniforms C.schools D.students
10.According to paragraph 6, what will happen if all the students wear their own clothes to school?
A.Students will not bully others any more.
B.It will be hard to tell a stranger from a student.
C.Children only want to buy the cheapest clothes.
D.All the children can keep up with the latest trends.
11.What is the last paragraph mainly about?
A.Schools should allow students to express themselves freely.
B.Students can spend more time on other important things.
C.Students shouldn’t think about fashion or what to wear.
D.Students can have many other ways to express themselves.

主题01 人与社会——青少年问题

5.How long have humans lived on the earth?
A.35,000 years. B.46,000 years. C.4.6 million years. D.4.6 billion years.

A.People who are already famous.
B.People who are currently in college.
C.People who are too busy to pursue their hobbies.
D.People who have already discovered their talents.
3.What are the benefits of having a hobby according to the passage?
A.It can improve your job chances in your life.

D.It can lower stress and add meaning to your life.

C.Keeping conversations going in real life. D.Ending a conversation whenever they want.
8.The writer probably agrees that ________.
A.social media is not as good as people think

根据“Students will find enough reasons to bully (霸凌) each other on their own—we don’t need to give them any more reasons.”可知,学生们将需要足够的理由去霸凌别人,我们不需要给的是学生任何更多的理由,故划线单词“them”指代的是“学生”。故选D。
10.推理判断题。根据“School uniforms make it easier to distinguish (区分) between students and strangers. School uniforms make it easy to tell when there’s a non-uniformed stranger, and possibly an unwanted stranger in the schoolyard. ”可知,学校的校服让学生和陌生人更容易区分,所以换言之,如果所有的学生都穿自己的衣服上学,那就很难区分出陌生人和学生。故选B。
11.段落大意题。最后一段主要讲了穿校服让学生表达自己,发现他们是谁,他们能用别的方式表达自己。故选D。
