阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C 和 D 四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

I remember my teen years when all I wanted was to put on weight. Growing up, I was always on the thinner side and try as I could, I never seemed to put on the kilos. I would admire the chubbier (丰满的) girls and wished to be like them.
Now I realize I had weighed my self-worth on how I looked. I had also sent out a message saying that I wasn't good enough because of my body size, not realizing that we train others how to treat us.
Today, I have learnt the art of self-love. And yes, I did put on the kilos years later after childbirth, but I lost them at the gym, and I am happy with myself. This got me thinking about the number of people today who want to look like someone else. They look in the mirror and don't like what they see. They are always in search of a different self!
Learn to fall in love with yourself. Learn to value yourself. If you do not like something about yourself, why not work out to get to your ideal body type? This not only increases your confidence, but you no longer have to wear those ugly tops to hide your stomach. Invest in self-improvement courses if you have to.
Give yourself space to breathe. When you are tired, take enough time to rest. Remember, you cannot pour out of an empty cup. Every so often, take time to refill your cup.

When someone asks me what my goals are for the coming year, of course I, as most people do, want to see an improvement in my grades. This year, however, I'm hoping for something different.
The first thing I wish to get in Senior 1 is the ability to manage my time better. I'll surely become busier with the coming semester , and proper organization is important. From school clubs to academic competitions, everything should be set up in a way that doesn't influence my health, which leads me to my second goal.
I hope to be both physically and mentally healthy. In order to stay energetic , I must put my health first , no matter how busy I am, or how much work I have to complete.
And finally, I hope that I won't be discouraged by my failure and never give up my dreams. I hope that I'll have the courage to try new activities and clubs. I believe my final goal can apply to every student around the world. We should all respect one another 's likes and dislikes, and focus on each other's strengths, not our weaknesses. Everyone should try to take part in all of life's opportunities.
In order to keep moving, I must keep my balance—the balance between studies and activities, efficiency and procrastination (拖延),academics and health, passions and dislikes. The new journey is going to be a hard one, but if I establish these goals, I believe I will make it through to the end.

Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Or in the simple, beautiful words of an old Chinese proverb: “__16__ If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
_17__ A study by Professor Elizabeth Dunn of the University of British Columbia found that spending money on others promotes happiness more than spending money on oneself. In an experiment, participants were given an envelope containing either five or twenty dollars. Participants who spent the money on a gift for someone else or for a charitable donation reported greater happiness than those who spent the money on themselves.
We hear throughout history, philosophy, and literature the same themes regarding giving. _18__ It's the source of true happiness, the meaning of life, the source of the greatest emotional and psychological returns. It's the best way to recover from the worst tragedies. It's a greater pleasure than the creation of wealth and the most direct route to happiness.
__19__ What provides a feeling of security. What provides a sense of accomplishment. What gives inner peace. What brings great meaning, fulfillment, and happiness.
__20__ Perhaps it is because we have not heard enough stories of how happy it can make us—stories from people we admire. I have had the privilege of meeting many of these people through my work. I'd heard their stories of how giving their time, resources, and talents to the causes they care about has brought them happiness and fulfillment far greater than they had ever imagined.
A.So why don't more of us give?
B.Giving is what liberates the soul.
C.Is it better to give than to receive?
D.If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.
E.Modern science has proved this phenomenon.
F.Giving is the most satisfying thing you'll ever do.
G.Some people are in the habit of taking instead of giving.
