Different from older ways to look at one’s body temperature(温度), it looks at different parts of the face to check people’s age and health. ▲ The face has many blood vessels(血管). With their help, ThermoFace can find “hot” and “cool” areas in the face that change with age and illness. For example, as people become older, the temperature of their nose goes down faster than other parts of their face. If someone’s nose is warmer, it means he has a younger age. However, the area around the eyes usually gets hotter as people get older. Scientists also find that people with high blood pressure(高血压)have warmer cheeks(脸颊). With ThermoFace, doctors can notice people’s illness earlier. They can do more tests and give advice. Can ThermoFace work perfectly? Will ThermoFace work the same for everyone? We still don’t know. Other factors, like exercise and eating ice cream, can change the temperature of your face. The tool can’t tell us why something has happened, but it can show doctors that there might be a problem. ThermoFace is helpful for research, but we still need to find out if it can be used in real life to help doctors. 1. What can ThermoFace do? A. Tell someone’s name. B. Check someone’s health. C. Change someone’s face. D. Take someone’s temperature. 2. Which of the following can be put in “ ▲ ” in Paragraph 2? A. How does ThermoFace work? B. Why can ThermoFace show ages? C. Where does the idea come from? D. When does the temperature get higher? 3. What makes ThermoFace different from traditional body temperature checks? A. It measures only the nose temperature. B. It analyzes temperature changes in specific facial areas. C. It uses blood samples to detect illnesses. D. It focuses on exercise-induced temperature changes. 4. What does the writer think of ThermoFace in real-life use? A. Helpful. B. Difficult. C. Successful. D. Unsure. 5. What is the main purpose of the article? A. To criticize the limitations of ThermoFace. B. To explain how facial temperature predicts ice cream consumption. C. To introduce a new diagnostic tool and discuss its potential. D. To prove that aging slows nose temperature changes. 参考答案 一、1.agreed 2.stickers 3.development 4.daily 5.impossible 二、1.safety 2.bored 3.our 4.disagree 5.development 三、1.except for 2.In fact 3.no doubt 4.deal of 5.take up 四、1-5DCBBD 五、1-5BAACD 6-10CBADC 六、1-5BABDC 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
