Did you see a robot picking tea before? Now there are tea-picking robots working around tea plants. This is happening in a tea garden in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.

Did you see a robot picking tea before? Now there are tea-picking robots working around tea plants. This is happening in a tea garden in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
Traditionally, picking these tea leaves (叶子) is done by hand. However, most of the tea pickers are now in their 60s, and few young people want to take up the job. “That’s why our team started to make tea-picking robots as early as 2019,” said Professor Wu, head of the study team.
This heavy (about 550 kg) but smart tea-picking robot was made by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. Its special arms and tracks (履带) make picking tea become a very easy job. It can find and pick a tea leaf in just 1.5 seconds. _______
