1. —Lucy, I’ll pick you up at 6:00 this afternoon at the school gate.
—Sorry, ________. There’s too much noise here. Would you repeat it again?
A. It’s totally fascinating B. I didn’t get that
C. I’m not sure D. I’m afraid not
It’s totally fascinating B. I didn’t get that 我没有听清楚;C. I’m not sure我不敢肯定;D. I’m afraid not 恐怕不是。由There’s too much noise here. Would you repeat it again? I didn’t get that(我没有听清楚)符合题意。
There’s too much noise here. Would you repeat it again?

A. looking; all of them B. look; each of which

该句第二空为all of +连词which引导的非限制性定语从句,先行词old magazines和all of构成all of old magazines在从句中作主语成分。

As I walked down the street on the first day in Dubai last year, the hot air mixed with my excitement, reminding me that I was now in a mysterious habitat. With the curiosity of wanting to try some Arabian food, I excitedly went to a local restaurant. Unexpectedly, an incident happened.
The guard standing outside the restaurant said to me, “Now it is the special festival for Muslims called Eid, during which Muslims go on fasting. Eating is banned before sunset.”“But I am only a tourist, not a Muslim. You could not restrict my liberty to have dinner,” I argued. He firmly answered, “The tradition of Islam is the same for everyone in Dubai. Once you step on the ground of Abu Dhabi, you should, and you must, obey the rule.”
Listening to his response, my disappointment turned into annoyance. As a person who knew nothing about Islam, I felt that their customs seemed quite unusual. Back to the hotel,I began to search for the information of Eid and came to know that every year there is a period of time that Muslims go on fasting until sunset. For Muslims, the fasting is to purify themselves both physically and mentally.
Glancing over the information about Eid, I felt guilty about getting annoyed with the guard. I realized that I should constantly understand and respect others’ customs and beliefs. Although sometimes the beliefs of people from various backgrounds are quite hard to accept, understanding the situation better before solving conflicts is much more effective. Only by truly accepting others’ customs could I learn from the value of their beliefs. I understood the importance of being determined to one’s belief, while at the same time learning to possess a passionate attitude towards others.
41. What did the author do on the first day in Dubai?
A. He enjoyed a delicious Arabian meal.
B. He made an appointment with the guard.

A new study has revealed that a prehistoric sea cow was the target of two different predators (捕食动物) — an ancient crocodile and a tiger shark, providing rare insights into the complex food chains from millions of years ago. The research, conducted by an international team of scientists and published in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology, uncovers one of the few known instances where a single prey (猎物) was attacked by many predators.
The sea cow, belonging to the extinct group Culebratherium, was first attacked by a crocodile. Evidence then shows that after the initial attack, the sea cow’s remains were searched by a tiger shark, a tooth of which was found near the unlucky animal’s neck.
“Have you seen the Batman movie? There is a scene where he and Alfred are shooting bullets to try and figure out which specific type of bullet they are trying to find,” said Benites-Palomino, lead author of the research. “Our research was conducted in exactly the same way. We have these experiments in the wild where predators are attacking their prey, and then afterwards we try to compare which is the best scene for what we’re finding there.”
The find is particularly significant as it adds to the limited fossil record of multiple predators interacting with a single prey. Such interactions are common in today’s ecosystems, but are rarely documented in the fossil record, making this discovery an important piece of the puzzle in understanding ancient food webs.
“We have been unsure as to which animals would have served this purpose as a food source for multiple predators. Our previous research has identified sperm whales searched by several shark species, and this new research highlights the importance of sea cows within the food chain,” Benites-Palomino said in a statement.
The digging, directed by Marcelo Sanchez-Villagra, head of the Palaeontological Institute and Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, was both challenging and rewarding. The site was initially discovered by a local farmer who spotted unusual rocks, inspiring the team to investigate further and eventually unearth the sea cow fossils.
46. What do we know about the prehistoric sea cow?
A. It reached the top of food chains. B. It is thought to have complex teeth.
C. It belongs to an endangered species. D. It was attacked by two different animals.
47. What does paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A. The scene of animal fights. B. The method of the research.
C. The introduction of a movie. D. The danger of the experiments.
48. What does the importance of the study lie in?
A. Challenging the current ecosystems. B. Offering insights into ancient food webs.
C. Clarifying the misunderstanding of sea cows. D. Figuring out the link between man and nature.
49. What is the Marcelo’s attitude to this digging?
A. Meaningful B. Indifferent C. Critical D. Objective
50. Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A. The Batman Movie Inspired a Research B. A Puzzle in Complex Ancient Food Chains
C. Shark and Crocodile Ate Unlucky Sea Cow D. An Important Biological Discovery of a Farmer
D 47. B 48. B 49. A 50. C

It is always difficult when we are exposed to someone who has a different opinion than our own. When opinions differ, there is often a conflict. This is where much of the conflict with adults and teens begins. Therefore, it is important to always make the difference clear between fact and opinion. Opinions change, facts always remain the same.
I have found that it does absolutely no good to tell someone they’re wrong. I have found that to be more effective is to help someone see the consequences of their behavior for themselves. If you don’t know there is the cliff, why would you ever be concerned about being close to the edge?
I dealt with a teen today who was involved in some gangster (歹徒) activities. This girl was raised in a good home with concerned parents. However, other interests have taken over in her life. Friends have become everything. These friends come from different families with different values. This is where the conflict has appeared in her life. The challenge for the rest of us is helping this girl see how and where her new interests will take her. We have felt mild success as relationships of trust are built and improved.
In the end, however, the teen has to make a choice regarding this conflict. It is important for adults to remember how serious this choice is. For some this can feel like a choice between life and death. It’s easy for the rest of us to be casual about this because the right choice seems so obvious to us. It is important to know it is much different to this young person who is still developing and searching. Therefore, it is important that the adult should do everything possible to help the teen be fully informed about the choice before them. Provide choices and show how making different choices will improve things and provide security for the teen now and in the future.
The choice to go with the crowd or with the few can be a very difficult one to make. I believe it is absolutely essential that we never give up on these kids. Our very own future is absolutely at a key point any time we advise and guide the youth.
51. From paragraph 1 we know the gap between father and son lies in that _________.
A. facts always remain the same
B. opinions are always different from facts
C. different opinions result from their conflict
D. they have a disagreement about the same fact
52. What contributes to the girl’s crime according to the text?
A. Different values. B. Unconcerned parents.
C. Her poor family. D. Gangster activities
53. Adults should try their best to help teens make a choice regarding the conflict because _________.
A. the wrong choice will lead to complete failure in the future
B. the choice is difficult to make for still developing teens
C. the right choice is easy for adults to see and understand
D. the choice made by teens determines their life or death
54. Why should the adult never stop helping the teen according to the last paragraph?
A. Because the teen won’t give up themselves.
B Because the adults’ future is related to the youth’s development.
C. Because adults have more life experience than teens.
D. Because the teen’s future is in danger.
55. What is the author’s main purpose in writing this article?
A. To propose an effective strategy to resolve conflicts of opinions from teenagers.
B. To criticize teenagers for being easily influenced by peers.
C. To highlight the life-and-death nature of teens’ choices.
D. To stress the importance of trust-building for adults.
51. D 52. A 53. B 54. B 55. A

根据第三段中的“These friends come from different families with different values. This is where the conflict has appeared in her life.(这些朋友来自不同的家庭,有着不同的价值观。这就是她生活中冲突出现的地方)”可知,是不同的价值观导致了这个女孩参与歹徒活动。故选A项。

故选A项。
Saving money is easy when you don’t have anything else to spend it on, but what should we do when things pop up that demand some of your hard-earned cash? These are called expenses.
Chances are that most of your basic living expenses — food, shelter, clothing, medical care — are covered by your family. But perhaps you and your family have agreed that you’ll pay for certain other expenses out of your own money, such as cell phone minutes, after-school snacks, clothing and small jewelry, or club dues.
Expenses that happen regularly, like every week or month, are called “fixed” expenses. The good news is that you know when these expenses are coming, and you can plan for them. But life is full of surprises, and sometimes these surprises turn into expenses, too. You might have an emergency like fixing a flat tire on your bike, or just something unusual like the class trip. These are called “unexpected” expenses — and if you’re smart with your money, you’ll plan for these as well.
Here’s a secret when it comes to saving money: if you think of it as a regular expense, it’ll be easier to put a certain amount aside. Tell yourself that the $20.00 you’re trying to save up every month is something you absolutely must do, and there’s no getting around it.
Can you think of any unexpected expenses that you had in the past or you might have in the near future? In this case, you should track your cash flow by creating a cash flow journal in a notebook. That means you keep a record of every amount you earn, spend, and save. Thus we can have a clear idea about our earnings, expenses and savings. And then we can enjoy a sound sleep without any worry.
56. What does the underlined phrase “pop up” in the first paragraph mean in English? (no more than 5 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________
57. How many types does the writer divide expenses into? What are they? (no more than 10 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________
58. What’s Paragraph 4 mainly about? (no more than 8 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________
59. For what purpose do we create a cash flow journal? (no more than 12 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________
60. What is your own way to solve the problem with unexpected expenses? (no more than 20 words)
________________________________________________________________________________________
56. Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly.
57. Two. Fixed expenses and unexpected expenses.
58. A secret to save money./How to save money.
59. To know clearly about our earnings, expenses and savings.
60. To solve the problem with unexpected expenses I always try to set aside a fixed amount of money.
根据文章第一段“Saving money is easy when you don’t have anything else to spend it on, but what should we do when things pop up that demand some of your hard-earned cash? These are called expenses.(当你没有其他东西可以花的时候,省钱很容易,但当需要你辛苦赚来的钱的事情pop up时,我们该怎么办?这些被称为费用)”可知此处的需要花我们血汗钱的事情是一些没有预料到的事情,即突然出现的事情,所以划线词pop up的意思是Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly,故答案为Appear suddenly/Occur suddenly/Happen suddenly.
根据文章第三段“Expenses that happen regularly, like every week or month, are called “fixed” expenses. (每周或每月定期发生的费用称为“固定”费用)”以及“You might have an emergency like fixing a flat tire on your bike, or just something unusual like the class trip. These are called “unexpected” expenses — and if you’re smart with your money, you’ll plan for these as well.(你可能会遇到紧急情况,比如修理自行车爆胎,或者只是一些不寻常的事情,比如课堂旅行。这些被称为“意外”开支——如果你对钱很精明,你也会为这些开支做好计划)”可知作者将费用分成了两类,即固定费用和意外费用。故答案为Two. Fixed expenses and unexpected expenses.
根据文章第四段“Here’s a secret when it comes to saving money: if you think of it as a regular expense, it’ll be easier to put a certain amount aside.(说到省钱,这里有一个秘密:如果你把它看作是一笔常规费用,那么节省一定数额会更容易。)” A secret to save money./How to save money.
根据文章最后一段“That means you keep a record of every amount you earn, spend, and save. Thus we can have a clear idea about our earnings, expenses and savings. And then we can enjoy a sound sleep without any worry.(这意味着你要记录你赚的、花的、存的每一笔钱。因此,我们可以有一个清晰的概念,我们的收入,支出和储蓄。然后我们可以享受一个没有任何担心的好睡眠。)”可知创建一个现金日记账的目的是为了我们可以对自己的收入、开支和储蓄有一个清晰的概念,故答案为To know clearly about our earnings, expenses and savings.
To solve the problem with unexpected expenses I always try to set aside a fixed amount of money.

C. He argued with a guard outside a local restaurant.
D. He stayed in the hotel because of the hot weather.

A. Clean the whole room. B. Stop eating in a period.
C. Refuse to eat in a day. D. Enjoy some entertainments.
43. How did the guard in the restaurant talk to the author?
A. Enthusiastically. B. Rudely. C. Seriously. D. Impolitely.
44. Why do Muslims fast?
A. Muslim fasting is to purify (净化) the body and soul.
B. No eating is allowed before sunset in Muslim countries.
C. Muslims feel guilty to eat before sunset.
D. They will be disappointed and annoyed when eating before sunset.
45. What can we infer from the last paragraph about the author?
A. He apologized to the guard. B. He believed in Islam after the trip.
C. He regretted arguing with the guard. D. He changed Muslim customs and beliefs.

A The Batman Movie Inspired a Research B. A Puzzle in Complex Ancient Food Chains
C. Shark and Crocodile Ate Unlucky Sea Cow D. An Important Biological Discovery of a Farmer
D
C Her poor family.
B. Because the adults’ future is related to the youth’s development.
