五、写作参考范文
I’m writing to suggest a popular holiday destination—beautiful Colorado.
There are rushing rivers and great valleys. The forests there are home to many kinds of trees and animals. Besides,it’s cheap and convenient for us to get there by bus. It takes about 2 hours. We can camp in national parks in our tents. We can also have a picnic along the river. Best of all, there is something for everybody to do in Colorado. We can fish in streams; we can go hiking; we can wander around the park taking photos or just sit somewhere and paint pictures.
Don’t you think Colorado would be great?
读后续写参考范文
When I looked up, I suddenly realized I was totally alone. “Hey!” I shouted. “Where is everyone?” Nothing, just the sound of my own breathing. They couldn’t have gone far, I thought, stepping onto the trail. I would catch up with them if I hurried. It seemed to grow darker. I had no flashlight. No phone. My mind started to race. Soon it might be too dark to tell what color the markers were. I couldn’t just follow my own footsteps because there were so many tracks from other travelers.
Then I came to a crossroads. Which way should I turn? I pictured the map. To reach Giant Rock we had turned left onto the purple trail. To get back, I needed to do the opposite and turn right onto the red trail. If this didn’t work, I’d stay put and let my group find me. Then I heard someone calling and noticed the stone wall and the trail running alongside it. This had to be right. I went down the hill in large steps. Then I saw the parking area and my family! I shouted as I ran toward them.

The Forbidden City is well known for being full of Chinese cultural and historical relics. But Masters in the Forbidden City(《我在故宫修文物》) does not just focus on the stories of the past. Instead, the documentary(纪录片) movie, which came out in Chinese cinemas on Dec.16, focuses on ordinary people —the restorers(修复者) of relics and antiquities(古董).
The stories are told at a slow and relaxed pace, reflecting the restorers’ work. Restoration of cultural relics and antiques can be time-consuming, and sometimes boring. Yet these restorers’ patience and peace of mind are especially precious in a society where everything is changing so fast.
“If you choose this job, you have to stand hours of work sitting on a chair. You need to be quiet and get used to being quiet,” says Wang Jin, an ancient clock repair expert.
A touching part of the documentary is the spirit of craftsmanship(工艺) in the restorers. “Years of humdrum work requires not only skill, but also faith and spirit,” China Daily commented, “Looking for preciseness(精确) and perfection, devoting yourself to work, patience, endurance(忍耐), loneliness...all these qualities come from the craftsman spirit.”
But unlike the popular idea of stuffy(古板的) experts who sit around being serious, the documentary shows off the enthusiasm of the restorers. They play their guitars and make jokes about each other after a long day of restoration work.
One scene that has been very popular with Internet users features a young female restorer riding a bicycle through the empty Forbidden City on a Monday. While she is doing this, a narrator says, “The last person to do this was Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty.”
Masters in the Forbidden City has proved wrong many people’s ideas about antique restorers, allowing them to realize that they are not old, dull professors, but people in their 40s,30s and even 20s who can be quite pleasing to the eye.
24. What’s the main purpose of the documentary Masters in the Forbidden City?
A. To show people how antiques are restored.
B. To display relics seldom seen by ordinary people.
C. To draw attention to Chinese antique restorers’ lives.
D. To praise the craftsmanship of Chinese antique restorers.
25.According to Wang Jin, we can learn that .
A. he often gets tired of his work
B. there is no need to do restoration work fast
C. antique restorers need to be patient and peaceful
D. it takes years of hard work to adapt to antique restoration
26. What does the underlined word “humdrum” probably mean?
A. Boring. B. Different.
C. Relaxing. D. Unusual.
27.The bicycle-riding scene in the documentary is used to .
A. remind the audience of the last Qing emperor
B. show the strange hobbies of young antique restorers
C. encourage the young to consider a career in antique restoration in the future
D. show that the documentary breaks from the old, dull image of antique restorers
[C]
Many Westerners have the idea that everyone in China knows how to do Kung Fu. This is, of course, a silly belief. But it is true that Kung Fu is a big part of Chinese culture.
Like most people from the West, I was first introduced to Kung Fu through Hong Kong action films. Stars like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan made Kung Fu popular in the Western world. The flashy and impressive performances they gave in films like Rumble in the Bronx and Enter the Dragon made them household names in the U.S. and elsewhere.
However, my own personal interest in Kung Fu was actually inspired by a hip hop group. Wu-Tang Clan, founded in the early 1990s in New York City, is one of the most influential hip hop groups in history.
In their songs, they sometimes mention philosophical concepts that come from Wudang quan — a classic Chinese martial art from which they take their name — and Shaolin Temple. I was just a teenager when I first started listening to Wu-Tang Clan — little did I know that I would actually end up living in China later in my life!
I myself do not practice Kung Fu. However, the concepts behind it are quite interesting to me. There is a Bruce Lee quote that I often think of when I’m struggling with challenges in life. “Be formless, shapeless, like water,” he once said. By this, he meant that you should be ready to adapt to and change your attitudes or beliefs when you face difficulties. I think this is a good way to deal with life.
28. What does the phrase “a silly belief” in Paragraph 1 refer to?
A. All Chinese people can do Kung Fu.
B. China is most famous for its Kung Fu.
C. Kung Fu is a big part of Chinese culture.
D. Many Westerners admire Kung Fu.
29. What inspired the author’s interest in Kung Fu?
A. Hong Kong action movies.
B. A TV program about Kung Fu.
C. Kung Fu stars in Hollywood.
D.A U.S. hip hop group.
30. What do we know about the Wu-Tang Clan?
A. They have Chinese culture in their songs.
B. They taught the author how to do Wudang quan.
C. They performed Chinese martial arts in the U.S.
D. They showed the author the way to live in China.
31. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. The author was sorry that he couldn’t do Kung Fu.
B. The concepts of Kung Fu change over time.
C. The spirit of Kung Fu helps the author overcome difficulties.
D. Bruce Lee was the most popular martial arts master.
[D]
China is developing a system that recognizes individuals by their body shape and walking movements. Systems that recognize human faces are already being used to identify people in crowds or as a secure way to unlock personal devices.
The new system, known as “gait recognition”, is already on trial by police on the streets of Beijing and Shanghai. The Chinese technology company Watrix developed the system. The company announced last month that it had raised $14.5 million to speed up the development and sale of the technology.
The system works in a similar way to face recognition. Cameras capture video of people in public places .Then, machines powered by artificial intelligence (AI) examine and study the video.
Facial recognition systems identify the shapes and expressions on a person’s face to identify them. Gait recognition uses a person’s body shape and their way of walking to identify them. The system records a person’s shape and movements and then creates a model of the way they walk.
Huang Yongzhen is a former researcher who co-founded Watrix in 2016. He told the Associated Press his system can identify people from up to 50 meters away. It is designed to work even when a person’s face is covered or hidden. Huang says his gait recognition system is correct 94 percent of the time. This is below the success rate of many face recognition systems. But he says the system can still be helpful to police and for other commercial purposes. He also believes the system can be effective when used together with face recognition.
Gait recognition is not new. The technology has been researched by scientists in Japan and Britain and by U.S. defense officials for about 10 years. But attempts to sell the technology have been slow. One of the reasons the technology has not developed further is that the systems are more complex than facial recognition.

A rock as big as a house. That’s how the guide-book described Giant Rock. Dad said it was carried here by a glacier (冰川) millions of years ago.
I was finally going to see it, on snowshoes, with my cousin Andrew, my dad, and my uncle Don. I’d been snowshoeing before, and I liked traveling through deep snow alongside wild animal tracks (足迹).
At the parking area, after putting on our snowshoes, we studied the map. “We start here,” Dad said, “on the red trail (小路).Then we turn left onto the purple trail. That’s where Giant Rock is.”
“Remember to stick together, boys,” Uncle Don said.
The trail ran uphill alongside a stone wall. It was easy to follow because red markers were stuck onto the trees. At the top of the hill, we turned onto the purple trail. Dad and everyone else were in front and I was in the back. My cousin was faster than I was, but I managed to catch up.
The late afternoon sun felt warm, although it was going down. I saw lots of animal tracks — mostly rabbit prints. As we carried on up the trail. Andrew said what I’d been thinking, “Will we ever reach Giant Rock? Do you think your dad invented the idea of Giant Rock just to get us away from the TV for a while?”
I laughed. “You never know.” Finally, we reached the top of a hill and saw the large rock sitting alone in the forest.
“It really is as big as a house!” Andrew said.
Standing in the rock’s long shadow (影子),I noticed the sun had got even lower.
“Let’s head back,” Dad said after a few minutes.
Soon we were on our way home. I was a little behind the group when I noticed a set of animal tracks. They were hard to see among the snowshoe prints, so I followed them off the trail for a closer look. They looked like tiny handprints and footprints. Must be a raccoon (浣熊) I thought, matching them to prints in my guide.
注意:续写词数应为150左右。
Paragraph1:
When I looked up, I suddenly realized I was totally alone.
Paragraph 2:
Then I came to a crossroads.
