四、阅读理解。
For the past eighteen years of my life, I’ve always celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with my family. Our way of celebrating is sitting together after dinner to share mooncakes. As simple as it is, it gives us a chance to relax and enjoy being together. However, this will be the first year that I’ll spend the Mid-Autumn Festival away from them.
To help reduce some of the homesickness (思乡之情), my friends and I are planning to attend a full-moon-themed party in New York City’s Chinatown (唐人街). Even though the party is a few days after the Mid-Autumn Festival, I’m sure it will still be fun. I’m really touched that my friends suggested this, especially since none of them are from Asia. I can’t wait to show them how much fun this Chinese festival is.
As a newcomer to the US, I miss my family a lot, but I know I have to get used to not being able to see them whenever I want. It’s part of growing up. At the same time, I’m looking forward to spending the Mid-Autumn Festival with my friends. Even though we’ve only known each other for a month, I already love them like family.
If, like me, you feel homesick at the Mid-Autumn Festival, hanging out with a couple of close friends will be a good choice. It’s easy to become busy with school life, so having a small get-together will be a great way to take a break from your heavy schoolwork, chat with friends, and admire the moon on this special day.

4.What advice does the author give to others in her situation?
A.To stay home alone.

Read and Explore
The Spring Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. This year’s Spring Festival is very special because China celebrates its first “Intangible Cultural Heritage Spring Festival (非遗春节)”.
In the past, people spent the Spring Festival mainly with big family dinners. But this year, we tried more ICH activities. My family made paper lanterns (灯笼) and watched a fun shadow puppet show (皮影戏). My grandparents even taught me to write the Spring Festival couplets (对联). I loved doing this best. When I saw the beautiful words on the red paper, I felt closer to our traditions. It is cool to bring old traditions to life.
I also learned that protecting (保护) ICH is not only about the past. For example, some artists use traditional ways to make beautiful zodiac stickers (生肖贴纸) for phones! This shows that the old culture can be new and fun.
On January 28, 2025, a special show called Yangbot surprised people around the world. The show mixed traditional Chinese Yangge with modern robots.
My classmates also took part in different traditional activities to celebrate the new year.
I learned how to make paper cuttings from my grandmother. Seeing the lively animals and cartoon characters created from a piece of red paper, I have a strong feeling of happiness.
Li Ming
I dressed up like a lion and danced to the music. Although I am a girl, I can still do the different moves like the boy. I feel happy when I see the smiles on people’s faces.
Wang Ling
This Spring Festival, while eating dumplings and watching fireworks, let’s also remember the value (价值) of our traditions. Culture makes us who we are!

6.C
【解析】句意:——我们早上7点在车站见面好吗?——事实上,我们不需要。火车要到上午10点才开。

7.Before the rainy season begins/Before the rainy season starts
Before the rainy season begins/starts。
