My grandmother was a great old lady. For an old lady living alone, it was time for her to leave her farm. When I was a 10-year-old boy, she came to stay with us in the town.
For the first few months, Grandmother seemed lonely and out of place. She couldn’t stand traffic noises and missed the peace and quiet of life in the countryside. However, she slowly accepted that she would spend the rest of her life with us in a little town far from her childhood farm.
When the warm spring winds began to blow, Grandma announced (宣布) that she was going to plant a small garden. When my father said that we had no need to grow food, she answered, “I know, but I have always grown a garden in my farm. And I am sure that I’m going to plant one here.” Then. Grandma asked me if I would help her prepare the land for planting and I happily agreed.
In the early spring, she taught me how to start small seeds (种子) in boxes inside. I carefully watered them every day. Soon, little green leaves came out. When the days got warm, we moved the seedlings (秧苗) to the small garden. When everything was planted in a clear order, my grandmother and I stood back and looked lovingly at the newly planted garden.
“In a month, we will have fresh carrots to eat.” said Grandmother cheerfully. “And a few weeks after that, we will have plenty of fresh vegetables for our supper table.” Of course, just like what my father said, we did not need the food from Grandmother’s garden. ____▲____

In the exercise “Washing machine”, they twist (扭动) from side to side. “Wake up mountain” gets students up on their feet and reaching high. In the “Lotus breath”, they place their hands in front of their heart. Their hands should look like a lotus flower.
