Secondly, play an active role in the class activities. Therefore, you can make full use of these chances to improve your friendship with your classmates. Most importantly, stay positive. Don’t worry too much, as I believe everything will be better soon as long as you try to change your life.

短文续写:参考范文
Worried, the two girls discussed what was in the envelope as they walked back. Tapping her chin, Sandy murmured, “If it’s money, that’s a great deal! If it’s not, what could it be?” Jane, lost in thought, didn’t reply at once. She placed her palms on envelope, reflected on the family and suddenly she claimed, “Paintings! It must be the girls’ paintings! After she explained to Sandy, they arrived at the old lady’s. Awkwardly, Jane handed the lady the envelope with trembling hands.
The lady opened the envelope, took out a pile of papers and smiled. On the papers were colorful drawings from the children. At this scene, Sandy and Jane looked at each other and smiled. Then, the girls gained their payment- a full basket of ripe jobos. For them, it turned out that their errand not only gained them their favorite fruit, but also a sweet taste of getting payment by their hard work. When they took a bite, the juice was as sweet as the feeling inside their heart.

As I walked into the primary school, I looked down at my new Mary Jane shoes—I wanted to be anywhere in the world but Fountain Inn Elementary School.
I stood at Mrs Blackstone’s door. The door suddenly opened to the sing-song voice of Mrs Blackstone, my new fifth grade teacher.“We’ve been waiting for you!”she said in an unusually high voice.
Over the next few days, Mrs Blackstone found me a new best friend and helped me join a choir(合唱团). During history lessons, as I didn’t want to speak in front of the class, she would have me stand up to address my classmates. She made me smile and feel much relaxed in the new environment.
One spring afternoon, Mrs Blackstone asked me to stay after class.“I’d like to speak with you, Amanda.” My mind raced. Had I made a bad grade? Had I hurt someone’s feelings?
“Are you enjoying your new school?” she asked.
“I want to tell you something, between you and me, not to be shared with anyone else.” “Okay.” My throat all of a sudden felt very dry.
With her eyebrows (眉毛) raised, she said,“I see something special in you. The way you communicate with others, the kindness you show—I think you have great potential (潜力) to be someone very important.”
I listened carefully to every word.“I’ve been a teacher for over 25 years. I can see it. But you must believe in yourself. That’s very important. Remember that and you’ll go far.”
Her voice was music to my ears that day. I walked out, but looking straight ahead with my head high. My teacher saw something special in me!
24.What do we know about the author from the first paragraph?
A. She went to school unwillingly. B. She liked her teacher’s singing.

A. Work with. B. Look at. C. Speak to. D. Learn from.
26.How did the author feel when she was asked to stay behind one afternoon?
A. Bored. B. Excited. C. Surprised D. Anxious.
27.Why did Mrs Blackstone have a talk with the author?
A. To help her improve her grades. B. To encourage her to be confident.
C. To make a good impression on her. D. To offer her information about the choir.

Tourist industry has advantages and disadvantages. While it makes money for the local economy and creates jobs for locals, it also causes problems.
One growing problem is tourists who want to show that they have visited a destination. Tourists have used paint, rocks, or keys to write on the Luxor Temple in Egypt, the Colosseum in Rome, Stonehenge in the UK, and many other places. Thousands of tourist sites are being destroyed by tourists. I have three words for people like this: please stop it. If you want to leave a mark, do it by changing someone’s life with kindness and love. Pass kindness along to future generations, not destruction.
Another big problem in some places has been tourists disturbing (打扰) the local people and life. Some tourists wander around and take pictures of locals without asking for their permission. For example, Chiang Mai University in Thailand and Yonsei University in South Korea have great numbers of tourists visiting their campuses and walking through their libraries and other public areas, taking pictures of students, and disturbing their studies. Another example is Sanlitun, a neighbourhood in Beijing, China. Some tourists love to party there late into the night, making it difficult for locals to sleep. I have three words for tourists like this: please be considerate (体谅的). Have fun in a way that does not disturb others.
The number of problems from tourists is endless: walking in large groups without considering others, crossing roads without thinking of local traffic laws…. The only solution is to make sure that you are not a terrible tourist! Be the best, kindest, most polite tourist! Remember, whenever you step outside your country’s borders, you are standing for your country to the rest of the world.
28. How does the author support his idea in paragraph 2?
A. By providing examples. B. By making comparisons.
C. By following the order of time. D. By following the order of importance.
29. What can be known from paragraph 3?
A. Locals should be more polite to tourists.
B. Tourists have no idea of their bad behaviors.
C. Some tourists’ improper behaviors disturb locals.
D. Universities are the main places troubled by tourists.
30. According to the passage, who is a responsible tourist?
A. Lucy, who likes to walk in large groups, chatting and laughing loudly.
B. Tom, who always writes his name on the walls of the ancient temples.
C. Mike, who follows local traffic rules and is always polite to the local people.
D. Lily, who often takes photos of the local people without asking for permission.
31. What is the purpose of the last paragraph?
A. To praise terrible tourists. B. To suggest a way to solve the problem.
C. To call on readers to love their countries. D. To introduce the importance of traveling.
D
Many people go to school for an education. They learn languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can make a living. School education is very important and useful. Yet no one can learn everything from school. A teacher, no matter how much he knows, cannot teach his students everything they want to know. The teacher’s job is to show his students how to learn. He teaches them how to read and how to think. So much more is to be learned outside school by the students themselves.
It is always more important to study by oneself than to memorize some facts or a formula (公式). It is actually quite easy to learn a certain fact in history or a formula in maths. But it is very difficult to use a formula in working out a maths problem. Great scientists, such as Einstein, Newton and Galileo didn’t get everything from school. But they were all so successful. They invented so many things for mankind. The reason for their success is that they worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. They would ask many questions as they read and they did thousands of experiments.
Above all, they knew how to use their brains.
32.The subject which is not spoken of in the article is _____.
A.Maths. B.History. C.Psychology. D.Physics.
33.The teacher’s job is to teach ___________.
A.Everything the students want to know.
B.The students everything that they know.
C.The students some facts of formulas.
D.The students how to learn.
34.Einstein, Newton and Galileo did so many things for mankind because_____.
A.They learned a lot at school.
B.They knew how to learn new things outside class by themselves.
C.They were so useful.
D.They went to college and learned from professors.
35.From the passage we know that if we want to be successful, we should _______.
A.Only learn more at school.
B.Needn’t go to school.
C.Only learn science subjects.
D.Learn to learn at school and learn more outside school.
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)

How to Make Friends at a New School
Starting with a new school can be difficult. Everything seems to be different, and you don ’t even know where to go for your own classes. 36 However, if you use these skills, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends.
Be yourself
37 If some people don’t accept you, they’re not the kind of friends you need. People often stay together because they have similar interests. For example, someone who does a lot of sports may make friends with those who also run or swim a lot.
38

The girls finally gathered their courage to knock on her door. An elderly woman with a fierce look answered, staring down at the girls. “We heard …”said Sandy, her voice shaky, “that you give jobos in payment for running an errand.”
The lady raised one eyebrow, then went into the kitchen and took two baskets. She pushed them into the girls’ hands. “Go fill these with jobos, and come right back.”
The girls raced up the hill to the tree and filled the baskets with the ripest jobos. Back at the house, the lady filled a bag with rice and handed it to Sandy. “Take this bag and one basket of jobos to the Brown family. And ask them for the payment,” the lady added with a tight smile. “If you return without the payment, you won’t get the fruit.”
The girls struggled all the way with the bag and the basket. When they were there, Mrs. Brown answered the door. Inside on the floor were three little children, each painting something on papers.
Mr. Brown was lying sick in bed. Times were hard.
The girls handed her the food.“This is from the lady with the jobo tree, ” said Sandy.
“She asked for the payment, too.” Jane said awkwardly.
“The payment! The payment!” The children repeated, waving the paper in their hands happily.
Sandy and Jane looked at each other strangely. With a smile, Mrs. Brown handed Sandy a large sealed(密封的)envelope so full that it was almost starting to break open. The girls said goodbye and left quickly. “I wonder,” Sandy murmured, “whether Mrs. Brown can afford to pay for that food.”
