Passage 2
(2024·全国新高考Ⅰ卷·阅读理解A)Not all great writers are great spellers. If you want to be published, it’s vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript(原稿). 36 No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly.
I keep two reference books close-by on my desk: dictionary and thesaurus(同义词词典). I don’t trust my laptop’s spellchecker. 37 Of course, these days there are plenty of online dictionaries and thesauruses, but I’m old-fashioned enough to prefer a hard cover and pages I can leaf through with my fingers. I use the Concise Oxford Dictionary and the Collins Thesaurus.
38 It should give you a precise definition of each word, thus differentiating it from other words whose meanings are similar, but not identical. It will also usually show how the word is pronounced.
In addition, I have an old two-volume copy of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, picked up a few years ago in a bookshop sale for just 99 pence. Of course, with its 2,672 pages, it’s not exactly short. It contains around 163,000 words, plus word combinations and idiomatic phrases. 39 However, if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there’s nothing better.
For well over a hundred years the most influential English dictionary was Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary of the English Language published in 1755.“To make dictionaries is dull(乏味) work,” wrote Johnson, illustrating one definition of “dull”. 40 A few minutes spent casting your eye over a page or two can be a rewarding experience.
A. I don’t often use this dictionary.
B. It takes no account of the context.
C. But I still don’t want to replace them.
D. But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read.
E. Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling.
F. That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes.
G. Dictionaries don’t always give you enough information.
39. A。根据前后文可知,作者有一本旧的上下两册的词典,有2 672页,含有大约163 000个单词。然而,如果作者需要查找一个单词的起源或查找其用法的例子,没有什么比这更好的了。由此可知,空处应表示作者不经常使用这套词典,与后面形成转折。故选A。
40. D。空前面一句提到编写词典是枯燥的。空后面一句提到花几分钟时间看一两页会是一次很有意义的经历。由此可知,空处应表示看词典的好处。D选项表示:但读词典是一件乐事。D选项承上启下。故选D。
Passage 3
(2023年新高考全国Ⅰ卷英语真题)
Personal Forgiveness
Taking responsibility for mistakes is a positive step, but don’t beat yourself up about them. To err(犯错) is human. 16 You can use the following writing exercise to help you do this.
In a journal or on a piece of paper, put the heading “Personal strengths.” 17 Are you caring? Creative? Generous? A good listener? Fun to be around? They don’t have to be world-changing, just aspects of your personality that you’re proud of.
At the top of a second page, put the heading “Acts of kindness.” On this one, list all the positive things you’ve done for others. It might be the time when you helped a friend with their homework, when you did the ironing without being asked, or when you baked cookies after the family had had a tiring day. 18
You could ask a friend or family member to help add to your list. 19 That way, you could exchange thoughts on what makes each of you special and the aspects of your personality that shine through. In fact, don’t wait until you’ve made a mistake to try this — it’s a great way to boost self-confidence at any time.
It’s something of a cliché(陈词滥调) that most people learn not from their successes but their mistakes. The thing is, it’s true. 20 We’ re all changing and learning all the time and mistakes are a positive way to develop and grow.
A. A little self-forgiveness also goes a long way.

(为错误承担责任是积极的一步,但不要因此而自责。人孰能无过)”可知,作者认为人都会犯错,勇于承担责任固然重要,但是也不要因此而过于自责。结合空后“You can use the following writing exercise to help you do this. 17. 根据空前内容“In a journal or on a piece of paper, put the heading “Personal strengths. ” (在日记或纸上写上“个人优点”)”以及空后内容“Are you caring? Creative? Generous? A good listener? Fun to be around? (在第二页的顶部,写上“善举”的标题。在这张单子上,列出你为别人做过的所有积极的事情。它可能是当你帮助朋友做作业的时候,当你没有被要求却主动熨衣服的时候,或者当你在家人累了一天之后烤饼干的时候)”可知,本段主要讲述的是列出一些自己所做的好事。选项F“Whatever it is, no matter how small it might seem, write it down. (不管是什么,不管它看起来有多小,都要把它写下来)”与上文内容一致,讲述的是不管你所做的事情不管有多小,只要是好的事情,都记下来。故选F。
19. 根据空后内容“That way, you could exchange thoughts on what makes each of you special and the aspects of your personality that shine through. (这样,你们就可以交换意见,谈谈是什么让你们每个人都与众不同,以及你们个性中闪光的方面)”可知,空处提到了某种方式,这种方式会使得你和朋友们一起交换意见等。选项C“They might even like to have a go at doing the exercise. (他们甚至可能想试一试做练习)”符合语境,C项中的“they”与空前的“You could ask a friend or family member to help add to your list. (你可以让朋友或家人帮你增加你的列表内容。)”中的“a friend or family member”保持一致,同时选项C和下文“In fact, don’t wait until you’ve made a mistake to try this — it’s a great way to boost self-confidence at any time. (事实上,不要等到你犯了错误才去尝试这个——这是一个在任何时候都能增强自信的好方法)”中的“this”一致。故选C。
20. 根据空前内容“It’s something of a cliché (陈词滥调) that most people learn not from their successes but their mistakes. The thing is, it’s true. (大多数人不是从他们的成功中学习,而是从他们的错误中学习,这是陈词滥调。但事实是,这是真的)”可知,作者认为人是从错误中学习。选项G“Whatever the mistake, remember it isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality. (不管你犯了什么错误,记住这不是你性格中固定的一面)”符合语境,G项中的“isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality”和空后内容“We’ re all changing and learning all the time and mistakes are a positive way to develop and grow. (我们一直在改变和学习,错误是一种积极的发展和成长的方式)”保持一致,指的都是犯错并不是性格中固有的一面,我们是通过错误来成长。故选G。

2026届云南三校高考备考实用性联考卷(二)
How to Tell If Your Phone Is Tapped
Have you ever worried that someone might be listening to your phone calls or monitoring your phone activity? If so, you’re not alone. With the development of technology, phone tapping is no longer just a movie plot. ___1___. Here’s how to tell if your phone is tapped and what to do about it.
How to Know If Your Phone Is Tapped
If you suspect your phone is being monitored, there are several signs to watch out for. Let’s start by learning how to recognize the warning signs of a tapped phone.
First, your mobile data usage might rise unexpectedly. Tapping software often sends recordings and logs to the person spying on you, which uses up a lot of data. ___2___.
Second, you might start seeing an unusual number of pop-ups and ads, even when you’re not browsing the web. ___3___. So don’t ignore them if they appear suddenly.
Third, check your phone for apps you don’t remember installing. Many tracking apps use innocent-sounding names to avoid being noticed.
What to Do If Your Phone Is Tapped
If you notice any of the above signs, don’t panic. ___4___.
One effective step is to reset your phone to its factory settings. This will remove most spyware installed by hackers or stalkers.
Another important move is to contact the police. If you have clear evidence of tapping, the police can use special equipment to check your phone. ___5___. They can also guide you on further actions to protect your privacy.
A. It’s important to check your data usage regularly
B. Pop-ups and ads are the most common sign of a tapped phone
C. All unusual phone activity must be caused by tapping software
D. Knowing how to spot the signs and take action can protect your privacy
E. Furthermore, they’ll need solid evidence to take your concerns seriously
F. These ads are more than just annoying — they might be a sign of trouble
G. Now that you know how to spot a tapped phone, let’s look at what you can do next
【答案】1. D 2. A 3. F 4. G 5. E
【导语】这是一篇说明文。本文围绕“如何判断手机是否被监听”展开,先介绍了手机被监听的几类典型迹象,再给出针对性解决方案,旨在帮助读者识别手机监听风险并保护个人隐私。
1. 上文“With the development of technology, phone tapping is no longer just a movie plot. (随着科技发展,手机监听不再只是电影情节)”点明手机监听已成为现实风险;结合下文“Here’s how to tell if your phone is tapped and what to do about it.(以下是如何判断手机是否被监听以及该怎么做)”聚焦具体应对方法。选项D“Knowing how to spot the signs and take action can protect your privacy. (知道如何识别迹象并采取行动能保护你的隐私) ”既承接了前文监听风险存在的背景,又为后文介绍判断方法与应对措施作了铺垫,起到承上启下的过渡作用,符合语境。故选D。
2. 上文“First, your mobile data usage might rise unexpectedly. Tapping software often sends recordings and logs to the person spying on you, which uses up a lot of data.(手机数据用量可能意外增加,因为监听软件会发送录音和日志,消耗大量数据)”重点强调数据用量异常这一监听迹象。选项A“It’s important to check your data usage regularly (定期检查数据用量很重要)”是对前文数据用量异常的自然延伸——既然数据异常是风险信号,那么定期检查就是识别该信号的必要动作,逻辑连贯且贴合识别迹象的主题。故选A。
3. 上文“you might start seeing an unusual number of pop-ups and ads, even when you’re not browsing the web. (即使未浏览网页,也可能出现异常多的弹窗和广告)”指出异常广告,下文So don’t ignore them if they appear suddenly.(若突然出现,不要忽视)”强调不要忽视。选项F“These ads are more than just annoying — they might be a sign of trouble (这些广告不只是烦人——它们可能是麻烦的迹象)”恰好解释了“为何不能忽视”:通过否定“广告只是烦人”的浅层认知,点明其“可能是监听风险的信号”,为下文的“不要忽视”提供了合理依据,衔接紧密。故选F。
4. 根据上文“If you notice any of the above signs, don’t panic. (若注意到上述迹象,不要恐慌)”告诉读者们出现该现象时候不要恐慌,下文随即转入具体解决方案“One effective step is to reset your phone to its factory settings.(将手机恢复出厂设置)”。选项G“Now that you know how to spot a tapped phone, let’s look at what you can do next. (既然你知道如何识别被监听的手机,我们来看看接下来能做什么)”精准完成了“从‘识别迹象’到‘采取措施’的过渡”,前文聚焦“如何判断”,后文聚焦“如何解决”,该选项通过“now that”引导的逻辑,自然将话题转向下一步行动。故选G。
5. 上文提到“If you have clear evidence of tapping, the police can use special equipment to check your phone. (若有明确监听证据,警方可用特殊设备检查手机)”,下文则补充“They can also guide you on further actions to protect your privacy.(警方也能指导进一步保护隐私的行动)”,可知此处强调联系警方。选项E“Furthermore, they’ll need solid evidence to take your concerns seriously(此外,他们需要确凿证据才能认真对待你的担忧)”既呼应了上文“clear evidence(明确证据)的表述,又通过“furthermore”表递进,补充了警方处理此事的前提(需要证据),同时“they”与下文“they can also...”的“they”(均指代警方)形成人称呼应,逻辑严谨。故选E。
Passage 2
(2026届云南省玉溪市红塔区玉溪第一中学高三上学期适应性测试(一)英语试题)Navigation(导航) skills are what you use to know how to get from one destination to another. Even with modern tools like BDS, it’s still useful to have basic navigation skills. ___1___. If you master these skills, you’ll be able to navigate your way with confidence. Here’s how to get started.
___2___, such as the way to the park you often visit. With an adult, take a slightly different path to get there. Pay attention to visual signs along the way. Without digital tools, use the clues to find your way back to your starting point.
In an adult’s company, you can step out in your local neighborhood or town to look for the landmarks. ___3___. When you see hills in the distance or a tall building, ask a trusted adult if the landmark is to the north, south, east, or west of where you’re standing. Practice identifying landmarks on your own when visiting new towns and cities.
Many cities have streets arranged in a grid(网格) layout. Take American cities — Chicago, Denver, Miami — for example. ___4___. Notice how the streets in the layout may be named according to a theme, like numbers or the name of US presidents. Suburban streets may also have a pattern, like being named for US states.
Another way to boost your navigation skills is to use creative stories to know where you are. To remember a crossing like the place where Prince Street and Elizabeth Street cross, you might remember it this way: “A prince met Elizabeth.” You can also connect details to street names; for example, Main Street is where the main stores in town are or Lakeside Drive is by the water. ___5___.

【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章指出团队有效协作对实现复杂目标至关重要,介绍了四条策略:明确目标与职责、促进开放尊重沟通、建设性处理冲突、善用成员多样优势,还提及定期沟通反馈。
1. 根据后文“Every team member needs a shared understanding of the project’s objectives and their specific responsibilities. This prevents misunderstandings and ensures accountability. Ambiguity in roles often leads to repeated efforts, overlooked tasks, and frustration. Clearly outlining expectations from the outset sets the stage for productive work.(每个团队成员都需要对项目的目标以及各自的具体职责达成共识。这可以避免误解,并确保责任明确。角色职责的模糊不清往往会导致重复工作、遗漏任务以及产生不满情绪。从一开始就清晰地明确期望,能够为高效的工作奠定基础)”可知,后文详细讨论了角色模糊会导致重复劳动、任务遗漏等问题,强调从开始就明确期望。选项A“明确设定目标和职责”作为小标题完美引入该部分。故选A。
2. 根据上文“Create an environment where team members feel safe to share ideas, ask questions, and voice concerns without fear of judgment.(营造一种氛围,让团队成员能够放心地分享想法、提出问题和表达担忧,同时不必担心受到批评)”以及后文“Actively listening to understand different viewpoints, rather than just waiting to speak, is crucial for building trust and finding the best solutions.(积极倾听以理解不同的观点,而非仅仅等待发言,这对于建立信任以及找到最佳解决方案至关重要)”可知,本句是在强调沟通的作用。故C项“有效的沟通是任何强大团队协作体系的基础”最符合语境。故选C。

Passage 6
(安徽宿城一中2026届高三上学期开学模拟检测英语试题)
Teamwork Doubles the Strength
Admittedly, teamwork is literally important for any class or team to achieve its goals and objectives. Let me give three reasons why it is advantageous.
As individuals, we possess diverse talents, strengths, weaknesses and experiences. A team is just like a tapestry(织锦) that weaves what each of us possesses, resulting in an end product that is diverse yet homogenous(同种类的). As team members exchange thoughts and experiences, there can be more efficiency and effectiveness at problem-solving. This pooling of talents can also lead to greater innovation and success. ___1___. It won the Premier League in 2016, to the utter disbelief of many soccer fans. Leicester City, previously regarded as the underdog of the League, displayed extremely impressive teamwork, which led to its unbelievable victory in soccer history.
Next, teamwork means members share the workload. When work is distributed and each of us in a team specializes in specific tasks, the stress on each of us is reduced and the completion of tasks before deadline is ensured. ___2___.
___3___. Team members learn from more experienced members who may offer deeper insights and perspectives. Newer members may also contribute new ideas. Besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge and experiences, teamwork also develops soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills. ___4___.
Some may think that working in isolation (单独) is more efficient since more time is taken when cooperating with others. For more talented individuals, working alone means being the star of a project. ___5___. But, the loss of synergy(协同作用) that only team effort can generate may also prevent the team from reaching its full potential.
A. Take Leicester City for example
B. Thus we can expect greater job satisfaction
C. Team members can also be divided in opinions
D. They don’t need to share the success with others
E. Let’s not wave away the chance to work in teams
F. And finally working in a team multiplies learning opportunities
G. We learn to respect differences in working styles and opinions, and develop trust
【答案】1. A 2. B 3. F 4. G 5. D
【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了团队合作之所以对团队达成目标重要的三个原因。

Leicester City, previously regarded as the underdog of the League, displayed extremely impressive teamwork, which led to its unbelievable victory in soccer history.(令许多球迷完全难以置信的是,它在2016年赢得了英超联赛冠军。莱斯特城曾经被认为是联赛的失败者,但他们表现出了令人印象深刻的团队合作,从而取得了足球史上令人难以置信的胜利)”可知,莱斯特城在英超联赛上的胜利是对上文观点的举例,A项“以莱斯特城为例”引出下文,符合题意。故选A项。
2. 上文“Next, teamwork means members share the workload. When work is distributed and each of us in a team specializes in specific tasks, the stress on each of us is reduced and the completion of tasks before deadline is ensured.(其次,团队合作意味着成员分担工作量。当工作被分配,我们每个人都在一个团队中专门从事特定的任务时,我们每个人的压力就会减少,并确保在截止日期前完成任务)”说明了团队合作的诸多益处,可以按时完成任务,和B项“因此,我们可以期待更高的工作满意度”,与上文构成因果关系,进一步指明了因为团队成员分担工作量之后,我们可以期待更高的工作满意程度。故选B项。
3. 下文“Team members learn from more experienced members who may offer deeper insights and perspectives.(团队成员向更有经验的成员学习,这些成员可能会提供更深入的见解和观点)”及“Besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge and experiences, teamwork also develops soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills.(除了鼓励知识和经验的分享,团队合作还培养了沟通和人际交往能力等软技能)”可知,本段想要介绍的是在团队工作中会学到很多东西,F项“最后,在团队中工作可以增加学习机会” 起到了对本段的总结概括作用,作为本段的主题句,符合题意。故选F项。
4. 上文“Besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge and experiences, teamwork also develops soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills. (除了鼓励知识和经验的分享,团队合作还培养了沟通和人际交往能力等软技能)”和G项“我们学会尊重不同的工作方式和意见,并建立信任”构成内容上的承接关系,指明了团队合作除了可以培养了沟通和人际交往能力等软技能之外,还可以让我学会学会尊重不同的工作方式和意见,并建立信任。故选G项。
5. 上文“For more talented individuals, working alone means being the star of a project.(对于更有才华的人来说,独自工作意味着成为项目的明星)”中的more talented individuals和D项“他们不需要与他人分享成功”中的they指代一致,解释了独自工作意味着成为项目的明星的原因就是不需要与他人分享成功。故选D项。

B. Now list all the characteristics you like about yourself.
C. They might even like to have a go at doing the exercise.
D. It’s just as important to show yourself some forgiveness.
E. It doesn’t mean you have to ignore what’s happened or forget it.
F. Whatever it is, no matter how small it might seem, write it down.
G. Whatever the mistake, remember it isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality.
