请求别人允许自己做某事时, can 和could都可以用, 但是could的语气更加委婉。

2. 对别人的请求许可的回答,一般只用can,而不用could。
A: Mr Lake, can I use your toilet? 莱克先生,我可以用你的厕所吗?
B: Of course you can. 当然可以。
