A. The Writer's Voice. B. This American Life. C. The Joe Rogan Experience. D. Overheard at National Geographic. 3. What do these podcasts have in common? A. They enjoy great popularity. B. We usually assume that a special person is a better person and a special life is a better life. However, my experience has helped me to understand the high cost I have paid to be special: the extra time spent trying to impress others, the meals I was too tired to cook but I still cooked, the newspaper column that I just couldn’t stop working with... I’ve been thinking about the cost a lot since becoming a mother. I know it is very natural to want our children to feel special, perhaps more special than others, so they can develop self-confidence. But I don’t think real self-confidence comes from being raised above others. It should come from being themselves and feeling loved for that in an ordinary way. It is not believing that they are the best and trying to be that. It is understanding that they have value for being them. It is very easy to give our children the impression that to be special, they need to try to be somebody else. Perhaps the most valuable gift we can give them is the permission to be ordinary. Trying to be special or to live a special life can in reality take them further and further away from better ones. It can also lead them to lose sight of the precious moments of the life they are actually living. Since I have become aware of this, I start to enjoy cooking simpler meals. I also feel much more freedom when writing this column. I feel less of a need to perform than I used to. And when I do feel that need, I can recognize it and respond differently (sometimes). At first, it might be a little bit boring to be ordinary. Now, I’ve become much more aware of the beauty of ordinary moments that I am fortunate enough to experience every day: the naughty smiles from my daughter; the funny sounds my cat makes in the middle of the night... 4. What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 2 refer to? A. Cost. B. Self-confidence. C. Being themselves. D. Trying to be special. 5. What does the author do now when she feels a need to perform? A. occupy herself with her work. B. Try to hold back the desire. C. Do what she is expected to do. D. Turn her attention to her family. 6. What does the author say about her current life? A. It is unnatural. B. It is boring. C. It is stressful. D. It is enjoyable. 7. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Why Should We Celebrate Being Ordinary? B. Why Do Many of Us Try So Hard to Be Special? C. How Does Children’s Self-Confidence Develop? D. How Can Parents Help Kids Enjoy the Real Life? C A team of researchers from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed an innovative green pesticide formulation (农药配方) that promises to strengthen control of harmful insects while prioritizing safety for both crops and the environment. “This new pesticide represents a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional pesticides,” said Prof. Wu Zhengyan, who led the research team. The findings of this study were published in ACS Nano. Traditional pesticides often face several challenges, including uneven application on plant leaves, tendency to being washed away by rain, and rapid decomposition (分解) under sunlight. Additionally, remaining chemicals from these formulations can pose environmental risks. Therefore, in this study, the team engineered a new pesticide formulation to enhance adhesion to leaves, resist sunlight decomposition, and provide a gradual release of the active ingredient for sustained effectiveness. The success of this new formulation lies in its unique structure. The carbon dots combined with calcium carbonate (CaCO3) increase the pesticide’s capacity to hold more abamectin (阿维菌素) — approximately 1.7 to 2.1 times more than conventional formulations. This allows for greater effectiveness while using less active ingredient. When the pesticide contacts the weakly acidic environment on plant leaves, the calcium carbonate breaks down, facilitating a quicker release of the pesticide and enabling easier tracking through the lights released by the carbon dots. This “controlled release” mechanism ensures that the pesticide remains active, even in challenging conditions such as UV light or rain. In tests conducted on the diamondback moth (小菜蛾), a common agricultural threat, the new formulation demonstrated excellent pest control both indoors and outdoors. Importantly, it also minimizes environmental impact. Compared to traditional pesticides, this new formulation showed reduced poisonousness to non-target animals. Furthermore, once the pesticide has released its active ingredient, the remaining materials decompose into harmless substances like calcium ions (Ca2+), carbon dioxide (CO2), and carbon dots, significantly lowering the risk of pollution. 8. How is the benefit of the new pesticide stressed in Paragraph 1? A. By offering statistics. B. By giving examples. C. By defining a concept. D. By quoting an expert. 9. What does the underlined word “adhesion” mean in Paragraph 2? A. Sensitivity. B. Response. C. Reference. D. Stickiness. 10. What makes the new pesticide different from traditional one? A. Its distinctive structure. B. Its lower production cost. C. Its unique tracking method. D. Its faster decomposition rate. 11. Why is the new pesticide environmentally friendly? A. It restores the ecological balance. B. Its by-products are clean and safe. C. It avoids harming unrelated species. D. Its remaining materials are reusable. D Many young people feel crushed when they think about their ability to buy a home, but it doesn’t mean they’re giving up on the dream. The average age of first-time home-buyers rose to an all-time high of 38 last year. More than 6 in 10 Gen Z and millennial non-homeowners said they’re envious of peers who have bought houses. Despite their desires, 61% of non-homeowners are less confident they will ever own than they were at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and over half said they feel they’ve missed their opportunity. Thanks to high mortgage (抵押贷款) rates and home prices, Americans today need to earn about 70% more than they did six years ago to comfortably afford a medium-priced home. To buy a house the national medium list price of $431,250, realtor.com estimates a household needs to earn about $114,000 each year. While some young people feel home ownership isn’t in the cards for them, others are getting financial help from relatives to make that big purchase. And others are considering unconventional ways to beat the odds and make it happen including co-buying, relocating and mortgaging their retirement. Those without help from relatives are considering some creative alternative paths to purchasing a house. Some 57% of Gen Z and 54% of millennial say they would buy with friends or family. “If I didn’t have my family, I think I would’ve just been clueless,” St. Peters, 28, said. “I could have easily had the mentality as the other Gen Z people like, ‘Well, I don’t have that money. It seems really intimidating. I have no business buying a house. ” Young people are also willing to sacrifice on location and buy houses that aren’t move-in ready to achieve home-ownership. More than 6 in 10 are open to buying fixer-uppers and more than half are willing to move to another state or even country to afford a home. Another recent study by another property management company ranked Minnesota as the most desired state for young people buying property, with 50.8% of people under 35 owning a home there. 12. Why is it so hard for young people today to purchase a home? A. COVID-19 made housing prices balloon so quickly. B. Their families completely refuse to lend a helping hand. C. The housing market is so unaffordable for young buyers. D. The number of first-time buyers reaches an all-time high. 13. According to the passage, which of the following is an alternative path for young home-buyers? A. Co-buying with a stranger. B. Starting their own business. C. Moving to a cheaper state. D. Sticking to a move-in ready home. 14. What might the author continue talking about? A. Mortgaging retirement. B. Challenges and policies. C. The root of the problem. D. Preparations to buy a home. 15. What is the text mainly about? A. Dream of owning a home is slipping away. B. Young buyers seek new paths to own a house. C. Americans are facing the toughest housing market. D. Various factors make young people fail to buy a house. Many of us face a tricky trap on social media: either chase endless likes with constant posting or escape by ignoring it all. We stress over this forced choice — approval or isolation — as if they can’t mix. ___16___ Here are three practical ways to find balance in the digital world. Focus on genuine connections. Likes and comments bring short-term excitement, but they fade fast. True connections matter more. When you share real stories or chat deeply with others, you feel warm inside. ___17___ So pick activities that make you feel truly good, like talking about hobbies or helping friends online — no need to care about likes! ___18___ Peace on social media starts with how you see it. Mindful scrolling (浏览) means noticing nice things — an inspiring post, a friend’s happy news — without comparing yourself. The colors of a photo or a kind word can make you smile. You don’t need big tricks. ___19___ Then you’ll enjoy both: staying connected and feeling peaceful. Celebrate small digital joys. Every little win online — sharing a useful tip, getting a sweet reply — deserves cheers. If you only wait for lots of followers, you’ll miss daily fun. ___20___ For example, celebrate finishing a post you care about, not just hitting a follower goal. Treat yourself to a snack after a nice chat. These turn online time into a happy journey. A. Try browsing with intention. B. Chasing likes will make you tired. C. Just fix your attention on the little joys online. D. Minor accomplishments in the digital world lift your mood. E. In fact, mixing work and rest online helps you stay balanced. F. But our time online doesn’t have to be stuck in this dilemma. G. That cozy glow from within doesn’t depend on likes or comments. When I was 12, I was diagnosed with scoliosis, where the spine curves to the side. In this country, most people believe that the animals around us are their lost loved ones, so animals are given free rein (缰绳) to do whatever they want. I moved to Bhutan from another teaching job in Tanzania. A few dogs spent every day hanging out at my school. One of them was a little guy with a head too big for his body, really winning my heart. He was a cute guy with an open face and a constantly dangling tongue. His fur was patchy in spots, but he seemed otherwise healthy. As I settled into life in Bhutan, I had trouble making friends. Sure, I was close with all the other teachers, but most of them were older and had families. Because of the language barrier and my own shyness, it was hard to go out and meet new people. Our town in Bhutan was very small, just two main roads filled with mostly restaurants, karaoke bars and snooker (斯诺克) halls. Usually, I went to town for shopping, but because of my limited language skills, I didn’t often go to those “hang-out” kinds of places. Therefore, I spent most of my time working. I really focused on my lessons, making them as perfect as possible. Every day, the little dog wandered into my office and sat quietly in the corner. Most of the other teachers would shoo (轰走) him out of the office with a loud “Hi-ya!”, and the little guy would bow his oversized head and run away. I didn’t shoo him away, though. Whenever he wandered into my room, I’d just ignore him. He’d walk between the desks for a while before settling under a teacher’s desk at the back of the room. He wouldn’t sleep or do anything else, just watch me. Over time, the dog started following me, becoming a regular part of my day. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the dog led me to the town one day, my lonely days here began to end. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 六安一中2026届高三年级第二次月考 英语试卷 时间:120分钟 总分:150分 第一部分:听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. C 5. B 6. D 7. 根据划线单词上文的“But I don’t think real self-confidence comes from being raised above others. It should come from being themselves and feeling loved for...” 所以that代指的上文的being themselves。 根据第四段的句子“I feel less of a need to perform than I used to. And when I do feel that need,I can recognize it and respond differently (sometimes). (我觉得不像以前那么需要表演了。当我感到需要的时候,我能意识到它并做出不同的反应(有时)。)”可知,作者现在当有表现欲时,会意识到并尝试以不同方式应对,即克制这种欲望。故选B项。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第五段的句子“Now, I’ve become much more aware of the beauty of ordinary moments that I am fortunate enough to experience every day: the naughty smiles from my daughter; the funny sounds my cat makes in the middle of the night...(现在,我更加意识到我有幸每天都能经历的平凡时刻的美好:女儿调皮的微笑;我的猫在半夜发出的奇怪的声音……)” 通读全文,特别是第一段的句子“However, my experience has helped me to understand the high cost I have paid to be special: the extra time spent trying to impress others, the meals I was too tired to cook but I still cooked, the newspaper column that I just couldn’t stop working with... (然而,这段经历让我看清了为变得出类拔萃所付出的高昂代价:那些为博人眼球额外耗费的时间,那些精疲力竭却仍要强撑下厨的餐食,那项令我欲罢不能的报纸专栏工作……)”及最后一段“At first, it might be a little bit boring to be ordinary. Now, I’ve become much more aware of the beauty of ordinary moments that I am fortunate enough to experience every day: the naughty smiles from my daughter; the funny sounds my cat makes in the middle of the night... (起初,平凡生活或许略显平淡。现在,我更加意识到我有幸每天都能经历的平凡时刻的美好:女儿调皮的微笑;我的猫在半夜发出的奇怪的声音……)”可知,作者从自身经历出发,反思“追求特殊”的代价,进而探讨如何培养孩子真正的自信,最后得出结论:接受平凡,享受平凡生活中的美好瞬间。所以,用A项“Why Should We Celebrate Being Ordinary? (为什么我们要庆祝平凡?)”作为本文的题目,与文章主题相符合。故选A项。 C A team of researchers from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed an innovative green pesticide formulation (农药配方) that promises to strengthen control of harmful insects while prioritizing safety for both crops and the environment. D 9. D 10. A 11. 根据第一段中“This new pesticide represents a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional pesticides,” said Prof. Wu Zhengyan, who led the research team.(“这种新型农药是传统农药更环保的替代品,”研究小组负责人吴正岩教授说。)” 根据第二段中“Traditional pesticides often face several challenges, including uneven application on plant leaves, tendency to being washed away by rain, and rapid decomposition (分解) under sunlight.(传统农药常常面临一些挑战,包括在植物叶片上施用不均匀,容易被雨水冲走,以及在阳光下迅速分解。)”以及“Therefore, in this study, the team engineered a new pesticide formulation to enhance adhesion to leaves, resist sunlight decomposition, and provide a gradual release of the active ingredient for sustained effectiveness.(因此,在本研究中,研究团队设计了一种新型农药配方,旨在增强农药在叶片上的adhesion、抵抗阳光分解,并实现活性成分的缓释,以保持长效性。)” A. Sensitivity.敏感;B. Response.回应;C. Reference.参考;D. Stickiness. 根据第三段中“The success of this new formulation lies in its unique structure.(这种新配方的成功在于其独特的结构。)” 故选A。 根据最后一段“Furthermore, once the pesticide has released its active ingredient, the remaining materials decompose into harmless substances like calcium ions (Ca2+), carbon dioxide (CO2), and carbon dots, significantly lowering the risk of pollution.(此外,一旦农药释放出其有效成分,剩余的物质就会分解成无害的物质,如钙离子(Ca2+)、二氧化碳(CO2)和碳点,大大降低了污染的风险。)” B。 D Many young people feel crushed when they think about their ability to buy a home, but it doesn’t mean they’re giving up on the dream. C 13. C 14. A 15. 根据第三段中“Thanks to high mortgage (抵押贷款) rates and home prices, Americans today need to earn about 70% more than they did six years ago to comfortably afford a medium-priced home. 根据最后一段中“Young people are also willing to sacrifice on location and buy houses that aren’t move-in ready to achieve home-ownership. More than 6 in 10 are open to buying fixer-uppers and more than half are willing to move to another state or even country to afford a home.(年轻人也愿意在居住地段上做出让步,并且会购买尚不能直接入住的房子,只为实现拥有自己住房的目标。 根据第四段中“And others are considering unconventional ways to beat the odds and make it happen including co-buying, relocating and mortgaging their retirement.(还有一些人正在考虑非传统的方式来克服困难,实现这一目标,包括共同购买、搬迁和抵押退休金等)”并结合第五段介绍共同购买,第六、七段介绍搬迁推知,作者可能在下文介绍“抵押退休金”这种购房途径。故选A。 通读全文,并结合第四段“While some young people feel home ownership isn’t in the cards for them, others are getting financial help from relatives to make that big purchase. And others are considering unconventional ways to beat the odds and make it happen including co-buying, relocating and mortgaging their retirement.(虽然一些年轻人觉得自己不可能拥有自己的房子,但其他人正在从亲戚那里得到经济上的帮助,以进行大笔购买。 Many of us face a tricky trap on social media: either chase endless likes with constant posting or escape by ignoring it all. F 17. G 18. A 19. C 20. 【16题详解】 空前“Many of us face a tricky trap on social media: either chase endless likes with constant posting or escape by ignoring it all. We stress over this forced choice — approval or isolation — as if they can’t mix.(我们许多人都深陷社交媒体的棘手陷阱:要么通过不断发帖来追逐无穷无尽的点赞,要么选择彻底逃避、对一切视而不见。 F选项“But our time online doesn’t have to be stuck in this dilemma.(但我们的上网时光未必非要困于这种两难境地。)”中的“But”否定极端观点,暗示存在第三种选择,自然引出后文“三种平衡方法”的总起句“Here are three practical ways to find balance in the digital world.(以下是在数字世界中寻找平衡的三种实用方法。)” ,空后“So pick activities that make you feel truly good, like talking about hobbies or helping friends online — no need to care about likes!(因此,选择那些能让你真正感到愉悦的活动吧,比如谈论兴趣爱好,或是在网上帮助朋友——无需在意点赞数量!)” G选项“That cozy glow from within doesn’t depend on likes or comments.(那种源自内心的温暖,并不依赖于点赞或评论。)” 【18题详解】 后文“Mindful scrolling (浏览) means noticing nice things — an inspiring post, a friend’s happy news — without comparing yourself.(有意识地浏览(Mindful scrolling),意味着去关注美好的事物——比如一篇鼓舞人心的帖子,或是朋友的喜讯——而不与他人比较。)” A选项“Try browsing with intention.(有意识地浏览内容。)” 故选A。 【19题详解】 结合下文“Then you’ll enjoy both: staying connected and feeling peaceful.(然后你会享受两者:保持联系和感到平静。)” C选项“Just fix your attention on the little joys online.(只需将注意力聚焦于网络世界中的小确幸。)” 和空前“Every little win online — sharing a useful tip, getting a sweet reply — deserves cheers. If you only wait for lots of followers, you’ll miss daily fun.(网络上的每一个小成就——分享一条实用建议、收到一条暖心回复——都值得欢呼。 D选项“Minor accomplishment in the digital world lift your mood.(数字世界里的微小成就,也能让你心情愉悦。)” When I was 12, I was diagnosed with scoliosis, where the spine curves to the side. The concept of “harmony between man and nature” is a core idea in traditional Chinese culture. It means humans should live in balance with nature instead of trying to control it — we take what we need from nature gently and protect it in return. For example, traditional Chinese gardens are designed to follow natural landscapes: rocks, water and plants are arranged like they are in the wild, showing respect for nature. Also, the custom of planting trees on important occasions (like festivals) has been kept for centuries, which helps keep the environment healthy. I believe this idea will make your essay special. Good luck with your competition! The concept of “harmony between man and nature” is a core idea in traditional Chinese culture. The concept of “harmony between man and nature” is a nuclear idea in conventional Chinese culture. 1】It means humans should live in balance with nature instead of trying to control it— we take what we need from nature gently and protect it in return.(运用了what引导的宾语从句) 【高分句型2】 Also, the custom of planting trees on important occasions (like festivals) has been kept for centuries, which helps keep the environment healthy.(运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节 (满分25分) 47. No one owns dogs in Bhutan. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文: Over time, the dog started following me, becoming a regular part of my day. I’d see him on my walk to school, who was trying to keep pace with me. He’d attend at least one of my classes. At lunch, as he wasn’t allowed inside the school canteen, he’d patiently wait outside until I was done. I’d give him some food, and then he’d disappear somewhere. When I stayed late in the office alone for lesson plans for the next day, the dog friend would run in. Somehow, he knew that I needed someone to talk to. When I finished my work, we would walk on the way home. When the dog led me to the town one day, my lonely days here began to end. One night, I stayed alone in the office preparing for my lesson plans as usual. When I was finishing my work, the dog ran in. I followed him out of the office and we walked down the path back to my home. Strangely, instead of following me to my home, the dog led me straight into town. Upon arrival, he pulled me to the snooker hall, which was packed with locals, all chatting, laughing and having a good time. And that was where I met my first group of friends. My friend group had grown with more visits to town with the dog. I was grateful to the little dog who pushed me forward. 词汇激活 行为类 ①允许:allow/permit ②消失:disappear/fade away ③玩得开心:have a good time/enjoy oneself ④为……做准备:prepare for/get ready for 情绪类 ①独自:alone/by oneself ②感激:grateful/thankful 【点睛】【高分句型1】I’d see him on my walk to school, who was trying to keep pace with me.
