In the white, icy world of Antarctica, Chinese scientists worked hard to do research. On April 10, the scientists returned home after finishing their work.

And if we left the snowmobile, we’d get 8 right away. So we had to use GPS to tell each other where we were,” he said. “It took us four hours that day just to park the snowmobiles together. ”

“I can’t afford to play badminton now.” Many badminton lovers are now saying this because of the surprising price 1 of badminton shuttlecocks (羽毛球).
A bottle of Yonex As02 shuttlecocks, which 2 for 81 yuan last November, has risen to 149 yuan. What has led to the price growth?
Shuttlecock makers say the simple reason 3 this is the growing prices of the feathers (羽毛) of ducks and geese (鹅). Duck and goose numbers of China have 4 since 2020, increasing the price. According to Yangcheng Evening news, the numbers of ducks and geese kept were 4,218 billion and 515 million in 2023 respectively (分别地). However, the numbers were 4,878 billion and 634 million in 2019.
Also, only feathers from 5 kinds of ducks or geese are hard enough and can be used to make shuttlecocks. One shuttlecock needs 16 feathers, but one goose or duck can only 6 up to 14 such feathers.
At the same time, making shuttles is not a 7 task. The feathers need to be cleaned bleached (漂白), and disinfected (消毒). This is to 8 bacteria (细菌) and make sure the shuttle stays tough (坚固的).
9 feather shuttlecocks are expensive, can we use man-made ones instead? Carbon fiber (碳纤维) shuttles are one 10 . They are about 10 yuan each, and they last longer and fly better. However, controlling them during hits is much harder compared to natural ones. So, many players are not ready to say goodbye to feather shuttlecocks just yet.
