perform v. 表演,演出;执行,履行,做;表现,运转
例如:The band will perform on stage tonight. 这支乐队今晚将在舞台上表演。

(1) performance n. 表演;演出;表现;业绩

(2) performer n. 表演者。

通常用于陈述句、特殊疑问句、选择疑问句的后半部分、祈使句和感叹句等。升调的基本意义是“不确定”和“未完结”,可表示犹豫、怀疑、婉转、含蓄、试探等含义。升调通常用于一般疑问句、陈述句表示疑问的各类句子,以及表示意思未完的各种情况。升调可以用于说话者不能确定信息是否准确,需要对方核实的情况。例如:
A: I’m putting the mixture into the oven. What temperature and time should I set?
B: 160 degrees, 50 minutes.
A: 160 degrees? 50 minutes? B: Exactly.
在列举事物时,前面的各件事物都用升调,最后一件事物用降调。例如:
The family enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, hiking,
boating, and camping.
同一句话用不同语调表达时,意义也会有所不同。
