Teaching Aids 【教学工具】 an English book,a tape recorder and CAI Teaching Steps 【教学步骤】 ★Step 1 Lead in【情景导入】 1.Show the following sentence to the Ss and ask them to pay attention to the bolded words. · There is so much fun in music. · There are many fans of them. 2.Lead to the grammar there be sentence pattern. Understanding ideas(5—8) ★Step 2 Pre-task【准备任务】 Page 35,5 1.Ask the Ss to find more sentence with this structure in the reading passage on page 33. 2.Let some Ss say their answers. 3.Check the answer with the class as follows. There is an art festival every autumn in my school. ★Step 3 Grammar focus learning Page 35,5 1. Summarise the grammar rules. There be 句型是英语中常用句型,意思是“有”,表示“人或事物的存在”或“某地有某物”。 There be 句型的构成形式一般为“There is/are +某人/物+某地/时”,表示“某地/时有某人/物。” 2.Tell the usage of the sentence pattern there be. There be 后面的名词是句子的主语,属倒装结构。疑问句形式是将be动词提至there之前,否定形式则直接在be动词后加not,因此要表达“某个地方或某个时间存在什么事人或物”的时候常用“There be +名词+地点/时间”这一句型。 There be 句型中的be应和其后出现的最近的主语在单复数上保持一致,即“就近原则”,如: There is a lamp on the table. There are some apples in the bowl. There are five books,two pens and a ruler in the schoolbag. There is a ruler,two pens and five books in the schoolbag. 3.There be 句型中动词be有一般现在时、一般过去时、一般将来时和完成时的时态形式。 There isn’t harm in trying. There were fabulous wildflowers in the hills last spring. There will be a fine day tomorrow. ★Step 4 While-task【过程任务】 Page 35,6 1.Ask the Ss to look at the table and get some information from it. 2.Let the Ss describe the table using there be. 3.Show some samples to the Ss. For example, there are 45 students in my class, Last year, there were 15 students in the reading group... 4.Ask some Ss to share their answers. Page 35,7 1.Ask the Ss to complete the blog using the correct form of there be. 2.Let some Ss share their answers. 3.Check the answers with the class. ★Step 5 Post-task【后续任务】 Page 36,8 1.Ask the Ss to work in pairs. Then write about their hobbies and a fun moment with it. 2.Show them a sample. 3.Give the Ss some prompts. Ask the Ss to use the words and expressions from the reading passage and the Useful expressions on page 36 to help them. 4.Ask the Ss to talk with their partners and take notes. ★Step 6 Summary 【课堂小结】 Ask the Ss to use the students’ self-assessment form to check what they have learned in this lesson.
