Schools and kindergartens in Guangdong Province have been asked to ban the recently popular toy knives known as “radish knives” and other similar things because they might be dangerous to students, according to a notice from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province.
“Radish knives” look like small plastic switchblades (弹簧刀), and kids like them because they can flick (轻弹) them open just like a fidget spinner (指尖陀螺). Though the blade (刀片) is made of plastic, it could still cause harm if it touches the skin. Parents are worried that these toys might cause kids to fight and could be dangerous for their safety.
The notice said that schools and kindergartens should teach students about safety and ask them not to buy, carry, or play with toys like “radish knives”. They also need to check stores nearby and report to the local governments if they find any of these toys being sold.
Besides, parents should watch out for these toys because they could be dangerous to their kids. They should choose safe toys and things that their children need every day.
Experts and officials have expressed worries about the increasing popularity of “radish knives” and the attitudes and behaviors of kids.
An expert said that selling toys with violence (暴力) could be more harmful than the toys themselves, and it might break the law.

In a golden field, a lion stands on his back legs, enjoying the warm sunlight. You can also see some birds and a faraway tower in the picture. It is called Lion and Beyond, which sounds like “Poetry and Beyond” in Chinese.
This heartwarming artwork is just a small part of the imaginative world of Zhang Mingxiang, a 26-year-old artist from a village in Shandong Province, East China.
Zhang’s artworks are based on things that happen every day and puns (双关语) in Chinese pronunciation. His creative (有创意的) drawings have won over 6 million fans on different social media platforms and he has sold more than 60,000 pieces on a video platform called Bilibili
“I believe that today’s youths have their own thoughts and are good at expressing themselves. And my artworks serve as encouragement for those who have just started working, providing a channel for emotional expression,” Zhang said.
However, Zhang’s path to art was far from straightforward. He was born in a village where his father made a living as a barber and by renting (出租) out comic books. Zhang’s interest in painting came from those comic books.
Because of a lack of formal (正规的) art education, some experts would say Zhang’s paintings were “not right”, which made Zhang think that this path might not be well-suited for him.
Later, he decided to use Chinese ink brushes to draw, adding more creativity and vibrancy (活力) to his work, which made him popular online.
Zhang’s life also got improved by selling paintings. According to him, he could only make a few thousand yuan before his artworks won popularity, but now he is able to make more than 200,000 yuan per month.
His dream, however, is even bigger. “My goal is to share my work with more people and inspire (激励) them with humor,” Zhang said.
26 What is the writer’s purpose in mentioning what Zhang Mingxiang said in Paragraph 4?
A. To introduce what his dream is.
B. To ask readers to know more about him.
C. To teach people how to express themselves.
D. To explain why his paintings are so popular.
27. The meaning of the underlined word “straightforward” is close to “________”.
A. hard B. easy C. free D. busy
28. What do we know about Zhang Mingxiang?
A. He is a serious painter with many works.
B. He is a man who cannot live without painting.
C. He wants to make more money for his family by painting.
D. He is a young man who has a big dream and tries his best to realize it.

Relationships are important for children and can have a great influence on their development at home and at school. Relationship skills, such as communication, teamwork, and the ability to solve problems are valuable skills. Here are some tips on how you can help your children develop these life skills.
As children grow and develop, the need for communication skills becomes increasingly important. Communication with family members can be especially difficult when kids are young, but taking time to talk about things that make them sad or happy will help build healthy relationships as they get older. Teach children how to use their words rather than act out physically. For example, say sorry if someone feels hurt by something you said or did.
Encourage (鼓励) your children to know what makes them a great teammate and also what they need when working with others. Children who love to have fun and tell jokes may be able to motivate (激励) their friends through a difficult task, but they may need a friend who can stay organized and on task. When kids understand their own skills and what they need from others, they’ll be able to work together with many more people.
Kids may feel like peers (同龄人) who do things differently than them are “bad” which isn’t true. Encourage your children to talk about similarities and differences among their friends. You can describe a time as a child or an adult when you were self-aware enough to stand up for what you wanted instead of giving in to what someone else wanted you to do. More than anything, building good relationship skills with the whole family can mitigate (减轻) the effects of peer pressure. Of course, some peer pressure can be positive when it encourages children to take safety risks that move them out of their comfort zone.
All in all, kids need parents, teachers and other caring adults to help them learn how they can build healthy relationship skills now and for a lifetime.
29. How does the writer explain the way children use their words properly?
A. By telling a story. B. By listing some numbers.
C. By giving an example. D. By comparing two facts.
30. What’s the fourth paragraph mainly about?
A. When your kids might make mistakes.
B. What you can talk about with children.
C. How you can help kids solve peer pressure.
D. Why you should describe your experience.
31. Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?
(①=Paragraph 1②=Paragraph 2.)
A. B. C. D.
32. What’s the best title for the passage?
A. Relationship skills kids need
B. The importance of relationship skills
C. Tips on how to keep children healthy
D. Useful communication skills for kids

阅读下面的短文,然后根据短文内容,回答问题。
Dreams may make you smart. This was discovered by scientists who do research on dreams.
What is a dream exactly? Scientists explain that during sleep time your brain reviews your experiences in the day. It tries to connect your new experiences with the old memories (记忆). As your brain connects things, it turns them into a story, and then you get a dream.
Dreams may help you deal with worries and fears. What has happened during the day may be painful. While you are sleeping, however, the brain will replay the painful memories in a safe dream space. There the bad memories become less painful. And you will feel better after waking up.
Dreams also seem to be able to help you learn. This idea is supported by a study. So scientists advise you not to stay up all night studying, especially when an exam is coming. They say a sweet dream might help you get higher marks.
Dreams may make you more creative, too. It was reported that a famous songwriter came up with his best song in a dream, and wrote it down as soon as he woke up. However, dreams alone can’t bring about creativity. In fact, the songwriter spent a lot of time thinking about the song before the dream. In a word, hard work matters more for creativity, though dreams also have a role to play.

Besides, parents should watch out for these toys because they could be dangerous to their kids. They should choose safe toys and things that their children need every day.

A. Relationship skills kids need
