A.- used to do sth. 过去经常做某事，现在不这样了。（只用于被动） 【9AP25】

①、People used to burn candles to get lights.

②、When I was a child, I used to like chocolate.

③、----Is your father a teacher?  ---- Well, he used to be, but now he is a businessman.

注明1：used to 的否定结构为 didn’t use to 或 used not to.

⑥、They didn’t use to / used not to go to school on foot.

⑦、My father didn’t use/ used not to be a worker.

注明2：used to 的疑问形式可借助助动词did 或直接将used 置于主语前；
