旅行归来,还可分享旅行感受(feelings about the trip),评价旅行的精彩程度(how wonderful the trip is)。
例如,能用英语准确询问旅行信息“Where are you going for your trip?”,描述旅行经历“I visited the Great Wall and it was amazing.”。
同时,根据上下文猜测生词含义,比如遇到“souvenir”,结合文中“bought a small souvenir to remember the trip”可猜出是“纪念品”的意思。

比如句子“After we arrived at the hotel which was located near the beach, we immediately went swimming in the clear blue sea.”,可先确定“we”是主语,“went swimming”是谓语,“After...”
比如在一篇描述某个神秘旅行地的文章中,作者提到“Local people always tell stories about strange lights that appear in the sky at night.”,学生可据此推断这个地方可能有一些未被解释清楚的自然现象,增加了旅行地的神秘色彩。

Imagine having everything you need—hospitals, stores, parks—just a few steps from home. This is the idea behind the 15-minute city. Here, people can get all the services they need within 15 minutes from home. This social model is being developed in cities around the world, from Paris to Moscow. It could make people healthier and build stronger relationships with neighbors.
Carlos Moreno is a strong supporter of the 15-minute city. He was encouraged by the need to fight against climate change. In a 15-minute city, car travel is not the best choice. People should build more foot roads and bike roads. Walking or riding across the city is of great use in diminishing CO2 emissions (排放).
Anne Hidalgo plans to develop 15-minute communities throughout France. That means the number of parking spaces will be cut down to 60,000 by 2024 and more bike roads will be created on every street of the city.
This type of design does more than good to the planet. Joe Zehnder is the planner of the city Moscow. She is developing “15-minute neighborhoods”. “Having stores close to homes makes people be able to eat healthier food and live a better life,” Zehnder says.
Syra Madad is also a key person behind the 15-minute city plan. He wants to make these places inclusive (包容的). As a neighborhood becomes more convenient, housing costs may increase. Madad suggests trying creating more kinds of houses, so that people of different groups can have a chance to live there. At the same time, a 15-minute community has also been built in Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places in China. It has brought great quality improvement to people’s production and life.

Last summer, my brother, Juan, and I were staying at our grandfather’s house in Mexico. When he was young, our grandfather was an explorer.
One day, we were looking at his books and we found an old map hidden between the pages of a book called Animals of Mexico. On the map there were directions to a secret place, deep in the forest.
Juan wanted to follow the map. “Perhaps we’ll find some treasure!” he said excitedly.
We set off early the next morning. The marks on the map took us deeper and deeper into the forest. The tall trees blocked the sunlight, so it was very dark. Suddenly, we heard a deep loud noise. From the dark corner came out a huge, wild, spotted cat.
“It’s a jaguar (美洲豹),” I breathed as quietly as I could.
Juan froze with fear. My heart was beating really fast, but I calmly looked the jaguar straight in the eyes and tried not to show how scared I was.
“Back away, slowly,” I said to Juan in a low voice.
We walked backwards, very, very slowly. The jaguar took one last look at us, then turned and disappeared back into the darkness.
Juan’s hands were shaking as he looked again at the map.
“We’re here!” he said. “This is Grandpa’s secret place.”
As we turned around, we saw a small, wooden cabin (木屋).
We nervously opened the door and went inside. On the walls, there were photos of beautiful jaguars, like the one we had seen.
Still shaking like a leaf after our adventure, we began to realize that we had, in fact, found a treasure—a place where jaguars live in the wild.

A.To visit the cabin. B.To look for treasure.

A.They shouted excitedly. B.They tried to stay calm.
C.They backed away quickly. D.They hid themselves in the dark.
36.Why did the grandfather most likely hide the map?
A.To protect the jaguars’ secret home. B.To test his grandchildren’s bravery.
C.To keep his photos in the cabin safe. D.To remember his exploring experiences.
37.Which of the following can best describe the brothers’ trip?
A.Tiring but educational. B.Funny and relaxing.
C.Dangerous but exciting. D.Challenging and painful.

Aunt Gertie likes to try new things. Not only does she want to try new things, but she wants me to try them too. When I see her with a wide smile on her face, I know something is about to happen. Pretty soon, Aunt Gertie is saying, “Let’s have an adventure (冒险)!”
Our last adventure together was a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. We went snorkelling (带呼吸管潜水) to see the beautiful fish and underwater plants. But the adventure didn’t start until we caught the plane to the islands. We had a lot to learn before we headed there.
We took snorkelling classes at the sports centre. We had to learn how to breathe (呼吸) with a snorkel and how to swim wearing a mask (面罩) and fins (脚蹼). We learned safety skills.
Next, we went to buy our equipment. We each got a snorkel. One end goes in our mouth and the other end sticks out of the water. We each bought a face mask to keep water out of our eyes and nose. And we got fins to wear on our feet. The fins help us have more power when we kick our feet as we swim.
At last, we were ready to go. We put our clothes and equipment into the bags and went to the airport. As soon as we landed, we checked in at the hotel. We changed our clothes and headed for the beach. We couldn’t wait to start our underwater adventure.
Aunt Gertie is starting to smile again. What will the next adventure be?

During the long-awaited vacation, my family and I decided to go on a camping trip. After careful consideration, we chose a place near a beautiful lake. Just the thought of being surrounded by nature made us excited.
When we finally arrived, we were greeted by a breathtaking view. The lake was like a huge mirror, reflecting the clear blue sky and the trees on its banks. We quickly got to work setting up our camp. It was a team effort. My parents were busy putting up the tent, while I was in charge of laying out the sleeping bags and something else inside.
The sky was a clear blue, without a single cloud in sight. Standing on the soft grass, we looked towards the lake, and heard the sound of the waves. It made all the stress from our daily lives fade away instantly.
During the day, fishing was one of our favourites. Every time a fish tugged (拉;拽) at the line, it brought a burst of excitement. After fishing, we also took a walk around the lake. We explored the surrounding woods, discovering small wildflowers and interesting rocks along the way.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky with warm hues (色调) of orange and red, we gathered around the campfire and chatted about everything from our daily lives to our dreams for the future. Laughter filled the air, and it was a moment of pure happiness and togetherness.
This camping trip near the lake was not just a vacation. It was a wonderful opportunity for our family to bond and create lasting memories. It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable time that we would cherish forever.

①Travelling is all about meeting something new and connecting with the world around us. Virtual Reality (VR 虚拟现实技术) is changing the way we travel by mixing the real and the virtual world together.
②VR travelling is a fun and exciting new way of travelling. You need to put on special glasses to see and visit places around the world, just like you are really there. Even in your own room, you can visit the Great Wall or swim with sea turtles anytime.
③VR travelling has many benefits. It can help protect popular places with too many visitors. Places of interest like Maya Bay and Angkor Wat are using VR to provide virtual trips without harming such wonderful places. VR can also take us back to the ancient time or the outer space. It gives us experiences that would be impossible to get from books. It lets people enjoy and experience new places better, more safely and conveniently.
④“VR travelling makes the impossible possible!” Emily Harper, a disabled (残疾的) girl, said excitedly. “It lets me visit places that might be hard to reach in real life.”
⑤However, some people say that VR can never take the place of real travel experiences. You cannot feel the weather, take beautiful photos with friends, enjoy the food or talk with people. Also, it can bring other problems. If people spend too much time on it, they might not want to go out with family and friends. What’s more, some of them might not be able to distinguish between the real world and the virtual world. They might think that they are the same.
⑥Every coin has two sides. While VR travelling might sound like something from a science fiction film, it’s already happening. In the near future, more and more people will get experiences and benefits from VR travelling.
61.Why does the writer talk about Maya Bay and Angkor Wat?
A.To encourage us to go there.
B.To show how to visit these places.
C.To give an example of the benefit of VR travelling.
D.To introduce these wonderful places of interest to us.
62.What does the underlined word “distinguish” mean?
A.To know the truth. B.To see the fact.
C.To get the answer. D.To tell the difference.
63.What does the writer think of the VR travelling?
A.It’s bad for people. B.It has a bright future.
C.It’s the best way of travelling. D.We shouldn’t use it any more.
64.What is the structure (结构) of the passage?
A. B. C. D.
根据“VR travelling has many benefits. It can help protect popular places with too many visitors. Places of interest like Maya Bay and Angkor Wat are using VR to provide virtual trips without harming such wonderful places.”
根据下文“They might think that they are the same.”
根据“In the near future, more and more people will get experiences and benefits from VR travelling.”

Unit 5 Travel
旅行归来,还可分享旅行感受(feelings about the trip),评价旅行的精彩程度(how wonderful the trip is)。
例如,能用英语准确询问旅行信息“Where are you going for your trip?”,描述旅行经历“I visited the Great Wall and it was amazing.”。
同时,根据上下文猜测生词含义,比如遇到“souvenir”,结合文中“bought a small souvenir to remember the trip”可猜出是“纪念品”的意思。

The hiking was a bit tiring but the view on the top of the mountain was amazing.
