B When a hurricane hit her hometown, Karen Lauder chose to stay at home because she didn’t know how strong the storm would be. Karen was 84 years old and depended on a wheelchair to get around because she was missing a leg. Her son, Johnny Lauder, tried repeatedly to get her to leave, but she refused. Johnny and his whole family live within a few blocks of one another. They kept in touch with Karen as the storm continued violently (猛烈地) outside, watching the water rising dangerously all around them. When Karen reported that the water in her house had reached her bottom, Johnny knew he had to take action. First, Johnny ensured his sons and their pets were taken care of. Then, he jumped out of a window and began to swim. Johnny used to work as a rescue swimmer. He is obviously a strong swimmer, but the flood water was filled with dangerous materials. There was also a strong current (水流), and he had to swim against it for most of his trip to Karen’s. As he made his way through the water, Johnny stopped periodically to snap selfies (自拍) to show his worried family that he was okay. Johnny was racing against the clock. He knew he only had a short period of time to get there before the water rose above Karen’s head. It took him 40 minutes to swim four blocks. The sound of Karen shouting inside was music to his ears! “If it would’ve been 20 minutes later, she wouldn’t be here,” Johnny said. “She’s never been happier to see me.” Karen is now safe, although she is in the hospital being treated for infections (感染) she got in the water. The family have all lost everything they owned, including their houses, but they’ re grateful just to be here. 24.Why did Karen refuse to leave her house when the hurricane came? Although in the golden years of retirement (退休), she teaches arts, recently she has opened up an art exhibition, and is planning a flight to Paris to find inspiration for her next creative project. Her lifestyle in many ways has been made possible by the non-profit organization EngAGE, which has revitalized (使重焕活力) the aging process by providing various free on-site programs in its senior communities, including (包括) novel writing, performing plays, storytelling for radio, and art shows. It helps seniors remain active, giving them the control to age the way they want to age. The idea for EngAGE developed when founder Tim Carpenter was working in the healthcare and aging industry, trying to change a broken system. Yet he did not see the change he desired. When he met developer John Huskey, who was building good-looking senior communities, the two partnered up. “We started throwing spaghetti against the wall, and some of it stuck (粘) on the wall. And we continue to do it that way and try almost everything,” said Carpenter. Ninety-five percent of the population EngAGE serves is low-income. Seniors are surrounded by quality programs, learning opportunities, and state-of-the-art facilities. In Carpenter’s view, retirement is like college, a new stage when you are trying to figure out what to do next. It can be a starting point, with the spare time to try something different or revisit an old passion. Those seniors can build on their knowledge of a subject or start from zero. It is only the beginning of something, not the end. McElroy concluded, “EngAGE is a place where members of old people are provided with endless opportunities. My son once asked, ‘How long do you plan on living here?’ and I joked, ‘They’re going to have to carry me out of here.’” 28.What can seniors do in EngAGE communities? A.Receive quality medical treatments. B.Learn the knowledge of novel writing. C.Enjoy an active life with youngsters. D.Reunite with their former colleagues. 29.What does the underlined phrase “throwing spaghetti against the wall” mean? A.Changing the aging process. B.Tasting some overseas food. C.Decorating the communities. D.Testing out various methods. 30.Which statement might Carpenter agree with? A.Seventy is the new twenty. B.A good start is half the battle. C.Never teach old dogs new tricks. D.Passion serves as a driving force. 31.Which might be the best title for the text? A.Carpenter’s Dream of Helping Poor People B.EngAGE: A Place of Possibilities for Old People C.McElroy: I’m Not an “Old” Artist D.Community Is the Source of Strength D Conflict (冲突) between teenagers and parents happens for a lot of reasons. Sometimes conflict happens between teenagers and parents just because conflict happens between human beings anyway. Humans have different needs, different feelings, different opinions about what they want, and the relationship with people can be really difficult. However, teenagers can cause further conflict because of the hormonal (生理的) changes that are happening and the stage of life that they're in. Teenagers and parents have different understanding about rules and at times they find it difficult to look into the future. So parents and teenagers will often experience conflict about many things. From chores, homework, whether teenagers speak respectfully or not, about what they're allowed to do - these are all the kinds of things that I hear teenagers and parents tell me about. Before we think about rule boundaries (界线) for teenagers, we need to make sure that we have a really good relationship base. There's no point saying “From now on, you have to listen to me”: if you don't have a positive relationship with your teenager. We need to go back and make sure there is some degree of shared respect, and some degree of positive communication and enjoyment being together. you do that first, it means that rule boundaries are a lot easier to set up. Often we're dealing with conflict on the fly. This is not the right time to be dealing with it. We really want parents and teenagers to sit down and think about the kinds of things that may happen in the house before the problems come. The more detailed your rule boundaries are for teenagers, the more likely it is that they are going to follow them. So this means we don't have rule boundaries like “Have the bathroom cleaned”. It needs to be “The floors mopped, nothing on the countertop and the mirrors cleaned by ten o'clock every Saturday”: Rule boundaries need to be written down, and set out ahead of time so the teenager knows exactly what's expected. 32.What's important to set up a rule boundary easily for teenagers? A.Being strict from the start. B.Developing a good relationship with them first. C.Saying"No" to their requirements. D.Avoiding close talks with them. 33.Which of the following rules are teenagers most likely to follow? A.Doing some housework. B.Having a good reading habit. C.Cleaning the bathroom. D.Finishing your homework by five. 34.What do the underlined words "on the fly" in the last paragraph probably mean? A.In a hurry. B.On the plane. C.By oneself. D.Another day. 35.What's the best title for the text? A.Growing Pains B.Teenage Problems C.Parent-Child Conflict and Solutions D.Knowing the Conflict Breaking up with your phone isn’t easy. It’s your alarm clock, your news source, your window into everyone else’s seemingly perfect lives. But what about putting your phone down? 36 A few small changes can help you focus better, clear your mind, and remind you of what life feels like without endless scrolling Your phone is a battlefield for your attention, and some apps are the enemy. Social media, news updates, and games you don’t even remember downloading. 37 The simplest way to stop being distracted (分神) is to remove them. The more unnecessary apps you remove, the fewer distractions you face. Need something to remind you? Check your phone’s usage history. Most phones now have built-in tracking tools that show exactly how much time you’re spending on each app. 38 Use this data to set proper goals — maybe cutting social media time in half or reducing evening phone use. Small, measurable changes lead to long-term improvements. Ever check your phone just out of habit? 39 Pick up a book instead of scrolling or try learning a new skill — playing an instrument, cooking, or drawing. Get outside — take a walk, hit the gym, or explore a new part of your city? 40 That habit creates a mix of work and personal time. Instead, try this: As soon as you enter your house, put your phone in a box, or in another room. This simple move shows that your focus has changed — away from work and toward relaxing and spending time with others. A.Fill that space with something better. B.That’s where the real magic happens. C.They’re all designed to keep you addicted. D.Download it today and start making real changes. E.That’s a direct invitation to check emails at midnight. F.Seeing the numbers in black and white can be eye-opening. G.People often arrive home and immediately check their phone. I’ve spent my entire life as a younger sister. He had recently been adopted by my parents and I was not in the mood for being on stage with him. “Kirstie, come here,” my mom called. Following her voice, I found her outside the bathroom, holding a wet book. She gave the book a shake. “Henry’s book was in the bathtub. Did you put it there?” She glared at me, something she had never done before Henry came to our home. I hadn’t wet his book on purpose. Rain drops fell from my eyes. To make matters worse, she promised to buy him a new copy. My heart ached. Henry was stealing my mother’s love. He was ruining any life.   Meanwhile, Henry was nearby, absorbed in working on a complicated rope knot (绳结). something he liked to do. Why did a boy like him like doing girl work? It seemed far from manly Soon, it was time to set off to the community theatre. As Henry walked ahead of us to the car, my mom took me aside and said in a low voice, “It will be Henry’s first time on stage. Be kind to him, honey.” I nodded but sighed (叹气). I hadn’t always found it this difficult to be kind. But since Henry had moved in, everything felt different. The theatre used to be a special place for my parents and me. With Henry involved, it didn’t seem so special any more. Finally, it was our stage time. My heart beat wildly. I forgot my annoyance at Henry for a while. As we kids lined up, ready to act out our short play, I realized how loosely I had tick the draw string on my skirt. However, my hands acre full. A.She was too old to move. B.She missed one of her legs. C.She thought the storm was not violent. D.She lost her wheelchair and was unable to leave. 25.What challenge did Johnny face while swimming to his mother? A.Strong current. B.Sharks in the water. C.Cold temperature. D.Lack of swimming skills. 26.Why did Johnny take selfies along the way to Karen’s home? A.To record his swimming trip. B.To report his safety to his family. C.To warn other rescuers of danger. D.To show off his swimming skills. 27.What was the family’s attitude after losing everything? A.They were angry. B.They were depressed. C.They were bitter about the loss. D.They were thankful to be alive. C Before McElroy moved into one EngAGE community, she had never imagined her life would be like this. But how do you feel about each of those? M: I don’t know. They all have their good points and bad points. The work is boring, but helping family and gaining work experience are important. The study tour would take me to places I haven’t been. Maybe I’ll figure out if I want to study abroad later. As for guitar, well, you said it all already. W: When I have many choices, I usually imagine what would happen if I said yes to each one. Start with one, and really imagine how you would feel if you did that. 根据第一段“When a hurricane hit her hometown, Karen Lauder chose to stay at home because she didn’t know how strong the storm would be.(当飓风袭击她的家乡时,凯伦·劳德选择留在家里,因为她不知道这场风暴会有多猛烈。)” 根据第三段“There was also a strong current (水流), and he had to swim against it for most of his trip to Karen’s.(当时水流也很湍急,在去凯伦家的大部分行程中,他都不得不逆水游泳。)” 故选 A。 26. 根据第三段“As he made his way through the water, Johnny stopped periodically to snap selfies (自拍) to show his worried family that he was okay.(约翰尼在水里游的时候,时不时停下来自拍,让担心的家人知道他没事。)” 根据最后一段“The family have all lost everything they owned, including their houses, but they’ re grateful just to be here.(这个家庭失去了他们拥有的一切,包括房子,但他们庆幸自己还活着。)” D。 C Before McElroy moved into one EngAGE community, she had never imagined her life would be like this. A.Carpenter’s Dream of Helping Poor People B.EngAGE: A Place of Possibilities for Old People C.McElroy: I’m Not an “Old” Artist D.Community Is the Source of Strength 【答案】28.B 29.D 30.A 31.B 【导语】这是一篇说明文。 根据第二段关键句“Her lifestyle in many ways has been made possible by the non-profit organization EngAGE, which has revitalized (使重焕活力) the aging process by providing various free on-site programs in its senior communities, including (包括) novel writing, performing plays, storytelling for radio, and art shows. (非营利组织EngAGE在许多方面使她的生活方式成为可能,该组织通过在其老年社区提供各种免费的现场节目,包括小说写作、表演戏剧、广播讲故事和艺术表演,使衰老过程恢复生机。)”可知,老人可以在这里学习小说写作、表演戏剧、广播讲故事和艺术表演,由此可知,老年人在EngAGE社区可以学习小说写作知识。故选B项。 29.词义猜测题。根据画线短语下句“And we continue to do it that way and try almost everything. (我们继续这样做,几乎什么都试过。)”可知,为了实现目标,他们几乎什么都试过,由此可知,画线短语“throwing spaghetti against the wall”指“测试各种方法”。故选D项。 30.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段关键句“In Carpenter’s view, retirement is like college, a new stage when you are trying to figure out what to do next. It can be a starting point, with the spare time to try something different or revisit an old passion. (在卡彭特看来,退休就像上大学,是一个新的阶段,你正试图弄清楚下一步该做什么。这可以是一个起点,有空闲时间尝试不同的东西或重温旧爱。)”可知,在卡彭特看来,退休是一个新的阶段,可以像大学生一样尝试新东西,“Seventy is the new twenty.”意为“七十岁就是二十岁”,可以表达老人也是年轻人这个观点。故选A项。 31. 根据最后一段关键句“McElroy concluded, “EngAGE is a place where members of old people are provided with endless opportunities.  (McElroy总结道:“EngAGE是一个为老年人提供无尽机会的地方。)”可知,本文主要介绍了非营利组织EngAGE通过在老年社区提供各种免费项目的方式来改变老年人的生活,让老人有更多机会,“EngAGE: A Place of Possibilities for Old People”意为“EngAGE:老年人的机会之地”,能够概括文章主要内容。故选B项。 D Conflict (冲突) between teenagers and parents happens for a lot of reasons. A.Growing Pains B.Teenage Problems C.Parent-Child Conflict and Solutions D.Knowing the Conflict 【答案】32.B 33.D 34.A 35.C 【导语】本文是一篇夹叙夹议文。文章主要讲述青少年和父母之间发生的冲突及解决方案。 32.细节理解题。根据第三段“Before we think about rule boundaries (界线) for teenagers, we need to make sure that we have a really good relationship base. There's no point saying “From now on, you have to listen to me” (在我们考虑青少年的规则界限之前,我们需要确保我们有一个非常好的关系基础。说“从现在开始,你必须听我的”是没有意义的)”可知,家长与孩子后期建立规则界限的关键是跟孩子有良好的关系基石。故选B。 33.推理判断题。根据最后一段“The more detailed your rule boundaries are for teenagers, the more likely it is that they are going to follow them. (你为青少年制定的规则越详细,他们就越有可能遵守这些规则。)”可知 D选项“5点前完成作业。”规则最详细,故选D。 34.词义猜测题。根据画线词后“This is not the right time to be dealing with it. Were ally want parents and teenagers to sit down and think about the kinds of things that may happen in the house before the problems come. (现在不是处理这件事的时候。我们希望父母和青少年在问题出现之前坐下来想想家里可能发生的事情。)”可推断上文意思是我们经常在匆忙中处理冲突,所以画线词意思是“匆忙地”,和In a hurry的意思最为接近。故选A。 35.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其第一段“Conflict (冲突) between teenagers and parents happens for a lot of reasons. Breaking up with your phone isn’t easy. It’s your alarm clock, your news source, your window into everyone else’s seemingly perfect lives. But what about putting your phone down? 36 A few small changes can help you focus better, clear your mind, and remind you of what life feels like without endless scrolling (滑动屏幕). Your phone is a battlefield for your attention, and some apps are the enemy. 【答案】36.B 37.C 38.F 39.A 40.G 【导语】这是一篇说明文。主要说明了如何戒掉总是查看手机的习惯。 36.根据上文“Breaking up with your phone isn’t easy. It’s your alarm clock, your news source, your window into everyone else’s seemingly perfect lives. But what about putting your phone down?(和你的手机分手并不容易。它是你的闹钟,你的新闻来源,你了解其他人看似完美生活的窗口。但是放下你的手机呢?)”以及后文“A few small changes can help you focus better, clear your mind, and remind you of what life feels like without endless scrolling (滑动屏幕).(一些小的改变可以帮助你更好地集中注意力,清理你的大脑,提醒你没有无休止的滚动的生活是什么感觉)”可知,前句提问 “放下手机会怎样”,本句承接提问,引出后文“小改变带来的积极影响”,故B选项“那才是真正的奇迹发生的地方”符合语境。故选B。 37.根据上文“Your phone is a battlefield for your attention, and some apps are the enemy. Social media, news updates, and games you don’t even remember downloading.(你的手机是你注意力的战场,而一些应用程序是你的敌人。社交媒体、新闻更新和你甚至不记得下载过的游戏)”可知,前句列举手机中令人分神的应用,本句解释这些应用的目的,故C选项“它们都是为了让你上瘾而设计的”符合语境。故选C。 38.根据上文“Need something to remind you? Check your phone’s usage history. Most phones now have built-in tracking tools that show exactly how much time you’re spending on each app.(需要什么来提醒你吗? 39.根据上文“Ever check your phone just out of habit?(曾经因为习惯而看手机吗?)”以及后文“Pick up a book instead of scrolling or try learning a new skill — playing an instrument, cooking, or drawing. Get outside — take a walk, hit the gym, or explore a new part of your city?(拿起一本书,而不是滚动,或者尝试学习一项新技能-演奏乐器,烹饪或绘画。出去走走,去健身房,或者探索城市的新地方?)”可知,前句指出“习惯性查看手机”的问题,本句给出解决方案,与后文“读书、学技能、外出”等具体行为对应。故A选项“用更好的东西填满那个空间”符合语境。故选A。 40.根据后文“That habit creates a mix of work and personal time. Instead, try this: As soon as you enter your house, put your phone in a box, or in another room. This simple move shows that your focus has changed — away from work and toward relaxing and spending time with others.(这种习惯造成了工作时间和个人时间的混合。 I’ve spent my entire life as a younger sister. It seemed far from manly (男子汉气概). Soon, it was time to set off to the community theatre. If only someone could help me out. 注意: (1) 续写词数应为150左右; (2)请按如下格式在相应位置作答。 Right then, Henry sensed my embarrassment. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After the performance, I found Henry and tapped him on the arm gratefully. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【范文】 Right then, Henry sensed my embarrassment. He immediately came to my aid. He pulled up my skirt and skillfully tied the drawstring with a beautiful knot. Seeing what Henry did for me, something deep in my mind began to change. It seemed as if my cold heart began to melt slowly and my annoyance at him gradually gave way to guilt. I regretted having treated him as a stranger. While my mind was wandering, our performance time came. It turned out a great success, thunderous applause filling the whole theatre. After the performance, I found Henry and tapped him on the arm gratefully. “Thanks,” I said with a grateful smile on my face. I had to admit that but for his timely help, I would have been extremely embarrassed. Without his knotting skill, the performance would have been quite different. “KNOT a problem. You are my sister,” he grinned innocently, saying humorously. Surrounded by the cheerful atmosphere, I felt a flood of warmth of a big family. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have a new person in my corner of the world after all. 21.D 22.A 23.B 24.C 25.A 26.B 27.D 28.B 29.D 30.A 31.B 32.B 33.D 34.A 35.C 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 36.B 37.C 38.F 39.A 40.G 第三部分 语言知识运用 (共两节,满分30分) 第1节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 41.
