Step 1 Pre-reading
(1) Read the poster by Tom. What questions did he raise in his poster?

Step 2 While-reading

(2) Work on 1b. Read the second and the third post again. What are Matt’s and Diana’s opinions about friends?
· Matt’s opinion: A good friend is like a mirror. You can understand people by knowing their friends.
· Diana’s opinion: Friends who are different make me better.
(3) Read Matt’s and Diana’s posts again and circle all the names.
(4) Careful reading. Work on 1c. Answer in full sentences.
Matt reads more history books because he says, “I read more history books than he does.” In this sentence, “I” means Matt and “he” is Stephen.
(5) Read the posts again and fill in the table.
