例如,“environment(环境)” 是课标要求掌握的基础词汇,而与其相关的 “environmental(环境的)”“environmentally(环境方面地)” 则属于课标内拓展词;“communicate(交流)” 是核心词汇,“communication(交流,名词形式)”“communicative(善于交流的)” 也属于拓展范畴。
例如,“book” 一词,学生最熟悉的含义是 “书(名词)”,但在句子 “Can you book a ticket for me?” 中,“book” 却表示 “预订(动词)”;“work” 常见含义是 “工作(动词 / 名词)”,但在 “The plan works well.”
这类高频词包括:“study(学习)”“class(班级)”“teacher(教师)”“student(学生)”“homework(作业)”“exam(考试)”“activity(活动)”“club(俱乐部)”“team(团队)”“friendship(友谊)” 等。
这类高频词包括:“environment(环境)”“pollution(污染)”“protect(保护)”“save(节约)”“resource(资源)”“recycle(回收)”“green(绿色的,环保的)”“clean(清洁的)”“waste(浪费)”“energy(能源)” 等。
这类高频词包括:“volunteer(志愿者)”“help(帮助)”“community(社区)”“technology(科技)”“internet(互联网)”“health(健康)”“exercise(锻炼)”“communicate(交流)”“solve(解决)”“problem(问题)” 等。
阅读材料不仅考查学生对事实信息的理解,还注重考查学生对作者情感、态度以及人物心理的把握,这类高频词包括:“happy(高兴的)”“sad(悲伤的)”“angry(生气的)”“excited(兴奋的)”“worried(担心的)”“surprised(惊讶的)”“important(重要的)”“necessary(必要的)”“difficult(困难的)”“easy(容易的)” 等。
再如,记忆社会热点话题高频词 “volunteer” 时,学生可以结合例句 “Many students volunteer to help the elderly on weekends.”(许多学生周末自愿帮助老人)进行记忆,同时联想 “volunteer” 的名词形式 “volunteer(志愿者)” 和动词形式 “volunteer(自愿做)”,以及常见搭配 “volunteer to do sth.(自愿做某事)”。
以例句 “Students should volunteer to help clean the park and protect the environment.” 为例,这句话中包含两个核心高频词:“volunteer(志愿者,自愿)” 和 “environment(环境)”。学生只要认识这两个词,再结合已有的基础词汇 “students(学生)”“help(帮助)”“clean(清理)”“park(公园)”“protect(保护)”,就能快速理解这句话的核心含义是 “学生应志愿帮助清理公园、保护环境”。
再如,一篇关于 “解决校园浪费问题” 的阅读材料中,高频词 “solve(解决)”“problem(问题)”“waste(浪费)”“school(学校)” 反复出现。
例如,复习 “communicate” 时,可以找到之前阅读过的包含该词的句子 “People can communicate with each other through the Internet.”(人们可以通过互联网相互交流),结合句子复习 “communicate” 的含义和搭配 “communicate with sb.(与某人交流)”。
和 “help sb. with sth.”
例如,记忆 “solve” 时,除了记住 “解决”,还要结合例句 “He tried to solve the math problem.”(他试图解决这道数学题)和 “The police solved the crime quickly.”(警方很快破了案),理解 “solve” 可以搭配 “problem”“crime”“mystery” 等词,含义为 “解决、解开”。
(1)that is(即,也就是说)
例如,在句子 “Pollution, that is, the dirty things in air, water or land, is bad for our health.” 中,“pollution” 是学生可能不熟悉的生词,而 “that is” 后面紧跟的 “the dirty things in air, water or land”(空气、水或土地中的脏东西),直接对 “pollution” 的含义进行了阐释。
再如 “Nutrient, that is, the useful things in food that help people stay healthy, is important for children's growth.”,“nutrient” 是生词,“that is” 后 “the useful things in food that help people stay healthy”(食物中帮助人们保持健康的有用物质)明确解释了其含义,学生可推断 “nutrient” 为 “营养素”。
(2)which means(意思是,也就是说)
例如 “The word 'ubiquitous', which means existing everywhere, is often used to describe the Internet.”,“ubiquitous” 是较生僻的词汇,“which means existing everywhere”(存在于各个地方)作为定语从句,对其进行了解释,学生结合这一解释,能推断 “ubiquitous” 表示 “普遍存在的,无处不在的”。
又如 “Her hobby is calligraphy, which means the art of writing beautifully with a brush or pen.”,“calligraphy” 是生词,“which means the art of writing beautifully with a brush or pen”(用毛笔或钢笔优美书写的艺术)清晰说明了其含义,学生可判断 “calligraphy” 为 “书法”。
(3)is called(被称为,叫做)
例如 “A kind of animal that lives in the sea, has a hard shell and can swim slowly is called a 'turtle'.”,句子先描述了 “生活在海里、有坚硬外壳、能缓慢游泳的动物”,随后用 “is called” 引出生词 “turtle”,学生结合前面的特征描述,能轻松推断 “turtle” 是 “海龟”。
再如 “A tool that is used to cut paper, has two sharp blades and is held by hand is called a'scissors'.”,先介绍 “用于剪纸、有两个锋利刀片、用手握住的工具”,再通过 “is called” 引出 “scissors”,学生可判断 “scissors” 为 “剪刀”。
(4)refers to(指的是,涉及)
例如 “In this article, the term 'digital literacy' refers to the ability to use computers and the Internet to find and use information.”,“digital literacy” 是一个专业术语,“refers to” 后面 “使用电脑和互联网查找、使用信息的能力” 明确了其内涵,学生可推断 “digital literacy” 为 “数字素养”。
又如 “The word 'traditional' in this context refers to things that have been passed down from generation to generation.”,“traditional” 虽不算生词,但在特定语境中可能需要进一步界定,“refers to” 后面 “从一代传到另一代的事物” 解释了其在该语境下的含义,学生能更精准地理解 “traditional” 此处表示 “传统的”。
例如在 “Ecosystem, that is, a community of living things and the non-living things around them working together, is very important for the balance of nature.”
例如将 “生态系统” 代入 “Ecosystem... is very important for the balance of nature.”
(1)such as(例如,比如)
例如 “He likes outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping and cycling.”,生词是 “outdoor activities”,“such as” 后面列举了 “hiking(徒步)”“camping(露营)”“cycling(骑行)” 三个例子。
再如 “Fruits rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, strawberries and lemons, are good for preventing colds.”,生词是 “fruits rich in vitamin C”,“such as” 后列举了 “oranges(橙子)”“strawberries(草莓)”“lemons(柠檬)”,这些水果的共同特点是 “富含维生素 C”,学生可推断 “fruits rich in vitamin C” 表示 “富含维生素 C 的水果”。
(2)like(像,例如)
例如 “Some sweet foods like chocolate, candy and cake are high in sugar.”,“like” 此处是示例信号词,列举了 “chocolate(巧克力)”“candy(糖果)”“cake(蛋糕)” 三个例子,这些食物的共同特征是 “甜的、含糖量高”,生词 “some sweet foods” 的含义由此可推断为 “一些甜食”。
又如 “Animals like tigers, lions and wolves are all carnivores.”,“like” 列举了 “tigers(老虎)”“lions(狮子)”“wolves(狼)”,这些动物均以吃肉为生,学生结合这一共同特征,可推断 “carnivores” 的含义是 “食肉动物”。
例如 “ He likes playing sports like basketball and football.”
(3)for example(例如)
例如 “Many students have after-school hobbies. For example, Tom likes playing the piano, and Lucy enjoys painting.”,生词是 “after-school hobbies”(课后爱好),“for example” 后面通过两个完整的句子,列举了 Tom “弹钢琴” 和 Lucy “画画” 的例子,这两个活动均是学生在课后进行的兴趣爱好,学生由此可确认 “after-school hobbies” 的含义是 “课后爱好”。
再如 “Plants need different things to grow. For example, they need sunlight to make food, and they need water to keep their cells alive.”,生词是 “different things to grow”(生长所需的不同物质),“for example” 后列举了 “阳光(用于制造食物)” 和 “水(用于维持细胞活性)”,学生可推断 “different things to grow” 表示 “植物生长所需的不同物质”。
(4)for instance(例如,比如)
例如 “Online shopping has many advantages. For instance, people can buy things at home without going out, and they can compare prices easily.”,生词是 “advantages”(优点),“for instance” 后列举了 “在家购物无需出门” 和 “轻松比价” 两个例子,这些均是网上购物的好处,学生可推断 “advantages” 表示 “优点,好处”。
再如 “Some countries have strict laws to protect animals. For instance, in Australia, it is illegal to hunt kangaroos without permission.”,生词是 “strict laws to protect animals”(保护动物的严格法律),“for instance” 后列举了 “澳大利亚未经允许捕猎袋鼠属违法行为” 的例子,学生可确认该生词的含义是 “保护动物的严格法律”。
例如在 “Popular sports in our school, such as basketball, volleyball and badminton, are all played on the playground.” 中,例子是 “basketball(篮球)”“volleyball(排球)”“badminton(羽毛球)”,关键信息是 “在操场上进行的运动”。
例如将 “学校里受欢迎的、在操场上进行的运动” 概括为 “学校里流行的运动”,代入 “Popular sports in our school... are all played on the playground.”
同时,可整理一份 “定义 / 举例信号词列表”(如 that is, which means, is called, refers to, such as, like, for example, for instance),熟记这些信号词的外观和功能,形成 “看到信号词就联想到猜词” 的条件反射。
例如在 “Meteorology, which means the science that studies the weather and climate, is a very interesting subject.”
例如在句子 “His lies made his friends feel betrayed, that is, they felt that he had broken their trust.”
例如 “book” 一词,学生最熟悉的是其名词含义 “书”(如 “I have a new book.”),但在句子 “Can you book a ticket for me?” 中,“book” 以动词形式出现,含义为 “预订”,与名词 “书” 的含义完全不同;再如 “water”,常用词性是名词 “水”(如 “Drink some water.”),但在句子 “She waters the flowers every morning.”
例如 “work” 一词,常用含义是动词 “工作”(如 “He works in a factory.”),但在句子 “The plan works well.” 中,“work” 仍是动词,含义却延伸为 “奏效、起作用”;再如 “fine”,常用含义是形容词 “好的、晴朗的”(如 “Today is a fine day.”),但在句子 “He had to pay a fine for parking in the wrong place.”
例如在句子 “Can you book a ticket for me?”
再如在句子 “The plan works well.”
例如 “book” 在 “Can you book a ticket for me?” 中,搭配对象是 “a ticket”(一张票),“票” 通常需要 “预订”,而 “book” 作为名词 “书” 时,搭配对象多为 “read”(读)、“buy”(买)等(如 “read a book”“buy a book”),结合 “a ticket” 这一搭配对象,可推断 “book” 此处是动词,含义为 “预订”。
再如 “fine” 在 “He had to pay a fine for parking in the wrong place.”
例如 “water” 在 “She waters the flowers every morning.”
再如 “plant” 在 “We plant trees every spring.”
例如在句子 “He was very tired, so he decided to rest for a while. The rest helped him feel better.”
再如在句子 “She is a bright student. She always has bright ideas.”
例如将 “book” 的 “预订” 含义代入 “Can you book a ticket for me?” 中,句子变为 “Can you 预订 a ticket for me?”(你能帮我预订一张票吗?),语义通顺,符合日常交流逻辑;将 “works” 的 “奏效” 含义代入 “The plan works well.”

例如在 “Can you book a ticket for me?”
例如在 “She waters the flowers every morning.”
例如在 “The new medicine works well.” 中,学生不分析 “works” 与 “medicine”(药物)的搭配关系,仅从 “well”(好)推断 “works” 是 “好的”,完全偏离 “奏效” 的正确含义;再如 “He paid a fine for speeding.”
例如在 “His bright idea solved the problem.”
①看到词汇,先回忆是否为九年级核心高频词,若是,直接理解含义;
②若不是高频词(为生词),扫描周边是否有 “that is”“such as” 等信号词,若有,用 “定义 / 举例语境猜词法” 推断;
Volunteer Work for Environmental Protection
More and more students are joining volunteer groups to protect the environment. Last weekend, our class took part in a park-cleaning activity. We brought gloves and bags to pick up the waste, such as plastic bottles, paper bags and broken glass. A local expert also came to give a talk. He told us that pollution, that is, the dirty things in air, water or land, is harmful to both animals and humans.
During the activity, we met a problem: some visitors kept littering. We tried to communicate with them politely. We explained that their actions would make the park dirty and affect everyone’s experience. Finally, most of them agreed to stop littering. Our teacher said, “This activity works well. It not only helps clean the park but also teaches people to care about the environment.”
Next month, we plan to book a community hall to hold a “Green Life” exhibition. We hope more people will join us to protect our planet.
话题相关高频词:volunteer(志愿者)、environment(环境)、protect(保护)、pollution(污染)、communicate(交流)、solve(解决,此处以 “met a problem” 体现)、plan(计划)
动作与情感高频词:join(加入)、take part in(参与)、help(帮助)、teach(教)、hope(希望)
生词 1:waste(出现在 “We brought gloves and bags to pick up the waste”)
【语境分析】后文有 “such as plastic bottles, paper bags and broken glass”(例如塑料瓶、纸袋和碎玻璃),“such as” 是示例信号词,列举的事物均为 “垃圾”,结合 “pick up”(捡起)的动作,可推断 “waste” 含义。
生词 2:littering(出现在 “some visitors kept littering”)
【语境分析】前文提到 “park-cleaning activity”(公园清洁活动),后文提到 “make the park dirty”(使公园变脏),结合 “kept”(持续)的动作,可推断 “littering” 是 “使公园变脏的行为”;同时,后文 “We explained that their actions would make the park dirty” 中 “their actions” 指代 “littering”,进一步验证其含义。
生词 3:exhibition(出现在 “hold a ‘Green Life’ exhibition”)
熟词 1:works(出现在 “This activity works well”)
【语境分析】“works” 搭配对象是 “activity”(活动),结合后文 “It not only helps clean the park but also teaches people...”(不仅帮助清洁公园,还教会人们……),可知活动 “取得了好效果”,推断 “works” 含义。
熟词 2:book(出现在 “plan to book a community hall”)
最后,送给同学们一句话:“Vocabulary is the key to reading, but the way to master it is in your hands.”(词汇是阅读的钥匙,但掌握钥匙的方法在你手中),愿大家都能找到适合自己的词汇学习之路,在英语阅读的世界中自由探索!

Many of you have probably had this experience: You get on a train and are ready to have a short sleep or read a book, only to find that the young lady in front of you is watching a TV show on her mobile phone without the earphones (耳机). The child next to you won’t stop crying. And the passenger behind you talks on his phone during the whole trip.
Wish the train could be less noisy? There’s a choice for you. The Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway, one of China’s busiest high-speed rail lines, started to provide quiet carriage(车厢) service on December 23, 2020. Passengers who are willing to follow the rules can choose the quiet carriage when booking their tickets.
In quiet carriages, passengers should enjoy music or videos through the earphones. Train station announcements are turned down. Doors at the ends of the quiet carriages are kept closed to reduce noise from other carriages. Train attendants (乘务员) will make sure that passengers follow the rules and remain quiet.
Some people have pointed out that this kind of quiet environment should be offered in all carriages. They say that having quiet carriages might make people think that they don’t need to be quiet in other carriages.
While some Internet users are in favor of the new service, it has also led to discussions about just how quiet passengers should be in quiet carriages. Many people have raised questions such as “What if I snore (打鼾)?” and “Can we talk to others if we need to?”.

Do you want to know how and why a fall leaf changes color? We first have to understand what leaves are and what they do.
Leaves are the world’s food factories. Plants take water from the ground through their roots and take CO2from the air. Plants use sunlight to turn water and CO2into glucose(葡萄糖), a kind of sugar. Plants use it as food for energy and growing.
A chemical called "chlorophyll" in the leaves gives plants their green colour. As summer ends and autumn comes, the days get shorter and shorter, and trees “know” to begin getting ready for winter.
During winter, there is not enough sunlight or water. Trees rest during this time and live on the food they store during the summer. They begin to shut down their food-making factories. As the green chlorophyll disappears from the leaves, we begin to see yellow and orange leaves.
The bright reds and purples we see in leaves are made mostly in autumn. In some trees, like maples(枫树), sunlight and the cool nights of autumn turn the glucose in the leaves into a red colour. And we can enjoy the beautiful red leaves during autumn.

A hungry fly speeds through a forest. It smells nectar and lands on a green leaf. It starts to drink the sweet liquid. Suddenly, the fly’s world turns green. The two sides of the leaf close against each other. Long green teeth lock together around it. The fly has been caught by a Venus flytrap. There is no escape.
Unlike most plants, the Venus flytrap is carnivorous, which means they eat meat. And it is perhaps the most famous killer plant. However, scientists have wondered for a long time how it hunts and eats. Only until recently did they start to figure it out. After years of study, plant scientist Alexander Volkov believes he now knows the Venus flytrap’s secret. "This." says Volko, "is an electrical plant."
There are three small hairs along each of the Venus flytrap’s two leaves. When an insect touches a hair, it creates an electrical sign in the leaf. The insect can keep on feeding—for now. But if it touches another hair within 20 seconds, the plant will take action, swinging its famous shut. The bristles on the edges of the leaves work like jail bars to prevent insects from making an escape. This system allows the plant to tell the difference between a drop of water, for example, and a living thing. And that probably keeps the plant from wasting time on raindrops or other things that aren’t its food.
Once caught, an insect has little chance of survival. The Venus flytrap now lets out a different liquid-one that slowly eats away at the insect. Ten days later, the plant’s leaves open again and the parts of the insect that couldn’t be digested fall out. The Venus flytrap is ready for its next meal.
This is just one of the interesting biological peculiarities of the Venus flytrap, scientists are still working hard to explore more about this mysterious plant.

Frank and his brother Jack lived near the ocean. Frank was outgoing while Jack was shy. They liked doing different things. Frank was famous for organizing games of beach volleyball, football, and any other sport imaginable. Jack preferred to draw, paint, or build sandcastles (沙堡).
Frank didn’t understand why Jack would rather do those things than play ball. He believed sports often allowed many kids to play together. That was when Jack’s idea hatched. He would show Frank what doing things together looked like!
After Jack finished creating a special sandcastle with stairs, towers and walls, he took pictures of it. Then he painted colorful posters featuring (突出) his sandcastle and the question, “Can you top this?” He hung his posters everywhere in town, spreading his plan for a day of sandcastle artistry-all ages welcome.
When Frank saw poster, he told Jack that no one would come. Still, in the early morning on Saturday, Jack was on the beach digging in the sand. By mid-morning, four kids were sculpting (雕塑) the sand beside him. By noon the number had increased a lot.
After Frank came back from his ball game, he went to check how his brother’s plan turned out. He couldn’t believe what he saw. At least 30 people were building a city of sandcastles, and everyone was chatting and laughing and working together! It was the most beautiful thing he had seen on the beach.

How are you feeling today? If your head is uncomfortable because of a bad night’s sleep, or you’ve just got too much to do, the chances are you’re not in the best of feelings. If everything seems like an effort and you have a negative(消极的) opinion, the last thing you want to be told is to “be positive!” But having this mindset could get more advantages than you think.
Of course, developing a positive(积极的) opinion is easier said than done. When you’re feeling down, it is hard to be optimistic(乐观的). But a study in the US has found that people who are optimists are more likely to live longer than those who have a more negative opinion to life. It showed the possibility of positive people living to the age of 85 or more. So, maybe the thought of a longer life might encourage you to be more positive to life.
The study found that optimists may find it easier to control feelings and get less stressed. And as stress influences the immune system(免疫系统), it’s possible that optimists deal better with illness. Professor Lee, who worked on the study, said, “Our findings suggest that raising levels of optimism may lead to longer life and healthier ageing.” And she advises that pessimists (悲观主义者) could get better from doing things like imagining a future where everything turns out well.
But a glass half empty type of person can hardly see the world through hopeful glasses. If you’re the one among them, what could you do? Accepting that we all have problems and we’re not all the same can help. It’s best to celebrate the positives and not think about the negative parts of our lives.
People have been sharing their personal advice on keeping a positive way to life. Vicki Siska says, “Music feeds my soul, and I have good friends who care for me.” The saying goes that “a healthy body leads a healthy mind” which is perhaps why other people have advised doing deep thinking as well as staying healthy to help keep a positive opinion about life.
1.From Paragraphs 1 & 2, we can learn that ________.
A.negative opinions lead to bad endings B.being positive isn’t as easy as we thought
C.“be positive” is enjoyed by pessimists D.optimistic people like to have a long life

Have you ever wondered if you see the same colors as other people? Most people know what blue is when they see it. They see the color and call it “blue” because they were taught the word and connected it with what they saw. But how do you know what you see as blue isn’t someone else’s red?
The ability to see colors depends on receptors (感受器) in our eyes. Light waves hit these receptors which will send information to the brain. The brain then deals with the information to make sure which color light the eyes are receiving. Some people’s receptors are more developed than others. People with weaker receptors usually have color blindness. That the receptor can’t translate the light waves correctly means some people cannot tell different shades of a color.
In the past, most scientists argued that everyone saw colors in the same way. However, research was done on monkeys, in which they were injected (注射) with a virus to influence their receptors. This made them understand more about colors than usual and brought an interesting discovery. Normally, monkeys can only see blue and green, but the virus allowed monkeys to see red. Their brains were made to be able to understand new colors, which might mean the brains are not instinctive (本能的) to understand which color is which. This shows that our brains may get used to new information depending on what they receive during the development. Color could be a very personal experience to everyone.
So, the next time you talk about your favorite color, just remember if yours is blue and your friend says red, you might actually be thinking about the same color. What if everyone in the world has the same favorite color, but just calls it different names.

You have often looked into a mirror, of course. But you haven’t seen the real picture of your face yet. And why couldn’t you see it? When you look into a mirror, you don’t see your face as other people see it. You see a reversed picture. If you close your left eye, your picture closes its right eye. If you touch your right ear with your right hand, your picture touches its left ear with its left hand.
If you have two small mirrors, you can see your faces as your friends see it. You hold the two mirrors at right angles(角度) to each other and look into them. After some practice, you will be able to see the real picture of your face.
Now close your left eye and your picture closes its left eye too. Touch your right ear with your right hand and your picture touches its right ear with its right hand! This happens because each mirror reflected(反射) the picture in the other mirror. So you see a reversed picture of a reversed picture, which, of course, is the same as the real picture.
1.When you look into a mirror, you couldn’t see ________.
A.the picture of yourself B.your face as others see it
C.the picture of your face D.the picture of your eyes
2.What does the word “reversed” mean in this passage?
3.According to the first paragraph of the passage, if you close your left eye, your picture in the mirror ________.
A.closes its right eye B.closes its left eye C.touches its right ear D.touches its left ear
4.Which of the following pictures is right according to the second paragraph of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
5.We can learn something about ________ from the passage.
A.body language B.Physical Education(体育)

Does Writing by Hand Make Kids Smarter?
Do you often write by hand or type on a keyboard? Does your school offer any handwriting training?
Maybe you think it’s the age of technology now and digital learning is popular. And typing is easier than handwriting. Digital learning has many positive aspects, but we also need to write by hand.
The result from Van der Meer and her colleagues’ studies has shown that both children and adults learn more and remember better when writing by hand. They used an EEG(脑电图) to track and record brain wave activity. Young adults and children participated in their study. The participants wore a hood(兜帽) with over 250 electrodes(电极) attached. The brain produces electrical impulses(脉冲) when it is active. The sensors(传感器) in the electrodes are very sensitive and pick up the electrical activity that takes place in the brain. The result shows that the brain in both adults and children is much more active when writing by hand than when typing on a keyboard.
“Writing by hand creates much more activity in the sensorimotor(感觉运动的) parts of the brain. A lot of senses are activated by pressing the pen on paper, seeing the letters you write and hearing the sound you make while writing. These sense experiences create contact between different parts of the brain and open the brain up for learning. We both learn better and remember better.” says Van der Meer.
In the debate about handwriting or keyboard use in school, some teachers believe that keyboards create less frustration for children. They point out that children can write longer texts earlier, and are more motivated to write because they experience greater mastery with a keyboard.
“Learning to write by hand is a bit slower process, but it’s important for children to write by hand. The hand movements and the shaping of letters are beneficial in several ways. If you use a keyboard, you use the same movement for each letter. Writing by hand requires control of your fine motor skills and senses. It’s important to put the brain in a learning state as often as possible.” says Van der Meer.
Given the development of the last several years, we risk having one or more generations lose the ability to write by hand.

①看到词汇,先回忆是否为九年级核心高频词,若是,直接理解含义;
②若不是高频词(为生词),扫描周边是否有 “that is”“such as” 等信号词,若有,用 “定义 / 举例语境猜词法” 推断;

1.Which should be in the box? Sunlight+()+CO2=glucose.
A.air B.sugar C.water D.wind
2.The underlined word "chlorophyll" means________.

In order for the brain to develop in the best possible way, we need to use it for what it’s best at. If we don’t challenge our brain, it can’t reach its full potential(潜能). And that can have a strong effect on school performance.
We should ensure children receive at least a minimum(最小量) of handwriting training. Now it’s time to use the pen and paper to do some writing.
1.What do you know about Van der Meer and her colleagues’ studies from the passage?
A.The hood the participants wore has no electrodes.
B.Writing by hand can make people’s brain much more active.
C.The sensors in the electrodes are attached by keyboards.
D.They write the information by hand to record the brain wave activity.
2.Writing by hand ________.
A.creates different sense experiences to help people learn better
B.makes people control their feelings to develop their brain
C.gives people chances to contact with digital learning
D.keeps the brain of people staying in a state of rest
