7A U1 Integration "Meeting My New Friends"

 

I. Objectives

Listening Skills: Students can understand descriptions of people's appearance, character, and hobbies in the listening materials.

Vocabulary & Phrases: Students master words and phrases like "long hair", "short hair", "shy", "quiet", "happy", "dancing", "swimming", etc.

Oral Expression: Students can introduce friends using the learned vocabulary and sentence patterns.

III. Teaching Procedures

 1. Warm up (5 minutes)

 Greet the students: "Good morning, class! How are you today?"

Play a guessing game. Describe a student in the class (e.g., "She has long hair. She is quiet. Who is she?") and let students guess. This helps review descriptive words.

 

2. Pre listening (10 minutes)

 Part A:

Show pictures of Kitty and Amy. Ask students: "Look at these two girls. What do you think of them? What’s their hair like? Are they shy or happy?"

Let students read the introductions of Kitty and Amy in Part A silently. Then, guide them to circle the correct words in the table. Check the answers together.

Introduce the background: "Millie is showing her mum a photo of her new class. Let's
