Teaching Procedures

 1. Warm-up and Review (8 minutes)

 Recall from Reading: Ask students to recall the message Millie sent to Jenny in the reading class. Have them pick out sentences with the verb "be" and write them on the board, such as "I am at Sunshine Middle School now.", "They are all very friendly.", "Sandy is a tall girl."

Quick Quiz: Show pictures of Millie, Simon, Sandy, and Daniel from the reading class. Ask students to make sentences about them using the verb "be". For example: "Millie is 12 years old.", "Simon is good at sport."

 

2. Presentation of Grammar Points (12 minutes)

Explain that the verb "be" has three forms: am, is, are.
