How can I let go of fear and embrace (拥抱) changes? Sarah Clark, a happiness expert, answers Peter’s questions about embracing changes.

I don’t know if I should be on the school’s science team, and I’m afraid I won’t do well. I don’t understand why I fear to join the team. Is this a sign that I am afraid of changes?
Truly,
Peter
Dear Peter,
It’s normal to be scared of changes. We all face them, and they can be exciting but also scary. It’s easier to stay the same than to try new things. But if you avoid changes, it may be bad for your life. You might miss out on new experiences or chances. Realizing you’re scared is good.
Face changes bravely. Think about what you might lose and get. It may feel bad at first, but it’s worth it in the end.
Yours,
Sarah

Seba and his family live in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is known for music. Seba grew up hearing music everywhere, but he really loved it when Mr. Copeland from The Police played the drums.
Before he turned three, his parents asked him what he wanted for his birthday. “Drums!” he answered. They bought him a junior drum kit (击鼓用具). It was a huge step. “He didn’t stop playing,” said his dad.

Are you allowed to climb trees or go camping by the river? Most of the students reply with “No”. It’s not surprising at all. Although research shows how good it is for children to play outside, they still spend more time staying indoors. In fact, outdoor play has a positive (积极的) influence on children’s development.
Over the last fifteen years, schools have started to realize the importance of outdoor time. It leads to the development of many programs that take learning outside the classroom. One of these programs is Forest School which has increased in popularity over recent years.
Forest School is an outdoor learning program that pays much attention to outdoor play in wooded spaces. In the early 1990s, a group of English educators went on a trip to Denmark. They noticed that open-air living was helpful for students. Upon their return from Denmark, they developed their first Forest School. Today the Forest School Association (协会) has more than 1,500 members.
How does outdoor play stimulate learning? In Forest School, children are provided with chances to explore the natural environment and experience risks and challenges. Recent research shows that some changes happen to children. They are able to develop skills they have learned at school in daily life. They work more closely with their classmates. They are more physically active. And they know how to move safely in the wild.
The World Health Organization has advised that children should have more chances to play in nature to grow up healthily. Forest School will help them fall in love with the great outdoors. It is also helpful for them to develop skills and creative thinking. All make preparations for later life!
36. What can we learn from Paragraph 1?
A. Students are interested in climbing trees. B. Children spend more time staying indoors.
C. Outdoor play can be dangerous sometimes. D. The writer is surprised at the students’ answer.
37. Where was the idea of building Forest School from?

第二节 阅读表达(共5题;每题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Artificial intelligence (AI) is now developing very fast. Now, it can even draw amazing pictures according to your text. This sounds cool, doesn’t it? However, there’s a chance that many of these new pictures might be copied from Greg Rutkowski’s art.
Rutkowski is an artist from Poland. His art style is often used by a computer program called Stable Diffusion to make pictures. This program allows people to turn texts into pictures. For example, if you type “A man fights against a dragon with magic fire, like Greg Rutkowski”, the program will make a picture that looks a bit like what Rutkowski would make. Some of these pictures are taken from websites that sell art without the artists knowing. Rutkowski and other artists are not happy about this.
At first, Rutkowski was surprised by his popularity in the AI world. However, when he searched for his name on the internet, the results showed him plenty of artworks that looked like his but weren’t.
Artists say they might lose income (收入) as people start depending on AI programs for artworks. But the creation of art should also be a lot more personal. Karla Ortiz, an American artist, says art is often closely connected to its creator. It shouldn’t be easily re-created.
Tom Mason is the CTO (首席技术官) of Stability AI, the company behind Stable Diffusion. He says that AI art is a completely new thing. It is natural to cause some problems. “We expect them to be solved over time,” he adds. “We’ll work to find the balance (平衡) between creating new products and helping the artists.”
41. What can AI do now according to the text?
__________________________
42. How did Rutkowski feel when he first discovered his popularity in the AI world?

43. What might happen to the artists if people depend on AI programs for artworks?

44. What’s Tom Mason’s plan to solve AI art problems?

42. How did Rutkowski feel when he first discovered his popularity in the AI world?
