课时学情分析
The students are seventh-grade freshmen who have just entered junior high school. They have some basic knowledge of English in primary school, but their English level is uneven. Some students have a certain foundation in pronunciation, while others may have incorrect pronunciation habits. They are full of curiosity about new things and have strong plasticity. However, they are also easily distracted and have a short attention span. Therefore, in the teaching process, teachers should use diversified teaching methods to attract students' attention and mobilize their learning enthusiasm. At the same time, considering that students are in the period of forming good learning habits, teachers should pay attention to cultivating their correct pronunciation habits and learning methods.

课时教学过程(应包括教学步骤、教学、设计意图、组织形式等内容)
Warming-up (5 minutes)
The teacher enters the classroom with a smile and greets the students in English: "Hello, boys and girls!" "Good morning!"
Play an English song about greetings, such as "Hello Song". Let students listen to the song and follow the rhythm to tap their hands or stamp their feet.
After the song, the teacher asks: "Do you like this song?" Guide students to answer "Yes" or "No". Then the teacher says: "Today we will learn how to greet others in English. Let's start our class."
Presentation (10 minutes)
Present the words "Hello!" and "Hi!" on the screen with pictures. The teacher points to the words and reads them slowly and clearly, emphasizing the pronunciation. Then let students listen carefully.
Invite students to imitate the teacher's pronunciation. The teacher corrects their pronunciation one by one, paying attention to the stress and intonation.
Introduce the letters "Hh", "Ee", "Ll", "Oo". Show the letters on the screen with their phonetic symbols. The teacher reads the letters and their phonetic symbols, and students repeat.
Show words containing these letters, such as "hello", "hi", "elephant", "lion", "orange". The teacher reads the words, and students follow. Explain the relationship between the letters and their pronunciation in the words simply.
Practice (15 minutes)
Activity 1: Listen and repeat. Play the recording of the textbook. Students listen to the pronunciation of greetings, letters and words, and then repeat after the recording. The teacher walks around the classroom to check students' pronunciation and give guidance.
Activity 2: Pair work. Ask students to work in pairs. One student says "Hello!" or "Hi!" to the other, and the other responds in the same way. Then they can change roles. The teacher takes the lead to demonstrate with a student. For example:
Teacher: Hello, Tom!
Tom: Hello, teacher!
Activity 3: Look and say. Show some pictures of people greeting each other on the screen. Let students look at the pictures and say the corresponding greetings. For example, when showing a picture of two students greeting each other, students should say "Hello!" or "Hi!".
Activity 4: Letter and word matching. Prepare some cards with letters and some cards with words. Distribute the cards to students. Students with letter cards should find students with word cards that contain their letters. Then they read the letters and words together.
Production (10 minutes)
Organize a "Greeting Party" activity. Let students move around the classroom and greet their classmates or teachers using the greetings they have learned. For example:
Student A: Hi, Lily!
Student B: Hello, Lucy!
Ask some students to come to the front of the classroom and perform greetings. The other students watch and evaluate their pronunciation and performance.
Create a real-life situation, such as meeting a new classmate. Let students make up dialogues using "Hello!" or "Hi!" and perform them. For example:
Student C: Hello! I'm Jim.
Student D: Hi! I'm Kate. Nice to meet you.
Student C: Nice to meet you, too.
