教学过程
A. Warming - up (5 minutes)
Greet the students as usual.
Show some pictures of different means of communication on the PPT, such as a mobile phone, a letter, an email interface, etc. And ask students: "What can you see in the pictures? Do you know how to say them in English?" Encourage students to answer in English and write the words on the blackboard.
B. Pre - listening (10 minutes)
Vocabulary Presentation
Teach the new vocabulary related to means of communication one by one. Use pictures, real objects (if possible, such as a mobile phone), and actions to help students understand and remember. For example, when teaching "make a phone call", pretend to hold a phone and make a call gesture.
Drill the vocabulary. Read the words aloud, ask students to repeat after you, and then ask individual students to read the words to check their pronunciation.
Prediction
Show students the listening task on the PPT. It might be a multiple - choice question or a short - answer question related to a conversation about means of communication.
Ask students to predict what they will hear according to the question and the vocabulary they just learned. For example, if the question is "Which means of communication does the girl like best?", students may predict that they will hear different means of communication being mentioned in the conversation.
C. While - listening (15 minutes)
First Listening
Play the listening material for the first time. Ask students to listen carefully and get a general idea of the conversation, such as who are talking, where they are, and what they are mainly talking about.
After listening, ask some general questions to check students' understanding, like "What are they discussing?"
Second Listening
Play the listening material again. This time, ask students to listen for specific information to answer the questions on the PPT. For example, if the question is "Why does the boy prefer emails?", students need to listen carefully for the reasons the boy gives.
Ask students to take notes while listening. They can write down key words or short phrases to help them answer the questions.
Check the Answers
Invite students to share their answers. Write the correct answers on the blackboard and explain any difficult points. If some students have wrong answers, play the relevant part of the listening material again to let them figure out the mistakes.
D. Post - listening (10 minutes)
Role - play
Divide students into pairs. Provide them with a new situation related to means of communication, for example: One student is a foreigner who just came to China and doesn't know much about Chinese means of communication. The other student is a Chinese student who is introducing different communication tools in China, such as WeChat.
Ask students to make up a conversation according to the situation, using the vocabulary and sentence patterns they learned in this class. Walk around the classroom to offer help and guidance when necessary.
Select some pairs to come to the front of the class and perform their conversations. After the performance, ask other students to give comments, such as what they did well and what could be improved.
Group Discussion
Divide students into groups of four or five. Pose a discussion topic, like "What will the means of communication be like in the future?"
Ask each group to discuss the topic and make a list of their ideas. Encourage students to express their creativity and use English as much as possible during the discussion.
Each group selects a representative to report their group's discussion results to the whole class.
E. Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summary
Summarize the key vocabulary, phrases, and sentence patterns learned in this class with students. Ask students to recall and repeat them together.
Review the listening and speaking skills practiced in this class, such as how to predict before listening, how to take notes while listening, and how to express opinions clearly in speaking.
Homework
Ask students to write a short passage about their favorite means of communication, including what it is, why they like it, and how often they use it. The passage should be at least 80 words.
Encourage students to use the new words and sentence patterns learned in this class in their writing.
教学反思
In the teaching process, the use of pictures and real - life situations in the warming - up and pre - listening stages effectively aroused students' interest and helped them better understand the new vocabulary. However, in the future, more interactive ways can be added, such as asking students to share their own experiences related to the pictures.
During the listening process, most students could catch the specific information, but some students still had difficulty understanding implicit meanings in the conversation. In the following classes, more listening materials with different levels of difficulty should be provided, and more training on inferring the speaker's attitude and intention should be carried out.
The role - play and group discussion activities gave students more opportunities to practice speaking. But some students were still a little shy and not very active. It is necessary to create a more relaxed and encouraging atmosphere in class to boost students' confidence in speaking English.
For the homework, when grading, attention should be paid to students' use of new vocabulary and grammar, and individual guidance should be given to students with more mistakes to help them improve.
