Students can correctly pronounce the sounds /p//b/ /t//d//ei//æ//i://e/. Students will understand the basic meaning and usage of the words and phrases learned in this part. 2.2 Ability Objectives Develop students' ability to identify and pronounce the target sounds accurately. Improve students' speaking ability by discussing friendship - related topics. Cultivate students' reading comprehension ability when dealing with short texts about friendship. 2.3 Emotional Objectives Encourage students to actively participate in class activities and communicate with their classmates, thus enhancing their sense of cooperation. Help students form a positive attitude towards making friends and maintaining friendships. 教学重难点 3.1 Key Points New words and phrases about making friends. The correct pronunciation of the sounds /p//b/ /t//d//ei//æ//i://e/. Using relevant words and phrases to describe friendship. 3.2 Difficult Points Distinguishing the sounds /p/ and /b/, /t/ and /d/, /ei/ and /æ/, /i:/ and /e/ accurately in pronunciation. Applying the learned words and phrases appropriately in real - life communication about friendship. 4.1 New Words laugh /lɑːf/v. 笑 lie /laɪ/v. 说谎;躺 truth /truːθ/n. 事实;真相 secret /ˈsiːkrət/n. 秘密 forever /fərˈevə(r)/adv. 永远 problem /ˈprɒbləm/n. 问题 honest /ˈɒnɪst/adj. 诚实的 look after 照顾 each other 互相 4.2 Pronunciation /p/ is a voiceless bilabial plosive, like in "pen", "pig", "map". The air is suddenly released through the lips with no vibration of the vocal cords. /b/ is a voiced bilabial plosive, as in "bag", "big", "job". The vocal cords vibrate when pronouncing this sound while the air is also released through the lips. /t/ is a voiceless alveolar plosive, for example, in "table", "tea", "cat". The tip of the tongue touches the alveolar ridge and then suddenly releases the air. /d/ is a voiced alveolar plosive, such as in "dog", "door", "bed". The vocal cords vibrate when making this sound and the air is released in a similar way as /t/. /ei/ is a diphthong, starting with a sound similar to /e/ and gliding towards /ɪ/, like in "cake", "name", "face". /æ/ is a short vowel, pronounced with the mouth wide open, as in "apple", "cat", "map". /i:/ is a long vowel, with the lips spread and the tongue in a high position, for instance, in "bee", "see", "tea". /e/ is a short vowel, with the mouth slightly open, like in "bed", "pen", "red". 教学过程 5.1 Warming - up (5 minutes) Activity: Play a short video about friendship, such as a clip from a movie where friends help each other. After watching, ask students some simple questions like "What did you see in the video?" and "How do you feel about their friendship?". This activity can quickly attract students' attention and lead them into the theme of friendship. 5.2 Presentation of New Words (10 minutes) Word Introduction: Show pictures on the PPT to introduce new words. For example, show a picture of a person laughing to introduce "laugh", a picture of a person lying on the ground to introduce "lie". Explain the meaning and usage of each word briefly. Example Sentences: Write example sentences on the blackboard for each new word. For "truth", the sentence can be "We should always tell the truth." Let students read the sentences aloud to get familiar with the words in context. Pronunciation Practice: Teach students the correct pronunciation of each new word. Break down the pronunciation of words with complex syllables and let students imitate. Then, play the recording of the words and ask students to follow and repeat several times. 5.3 Pronunciation Teaching (10 minutes) Sound Demonstration: Use the pronunciation tool on the PPT or a physical model of the vocal organs to demonstrate the production of the sounds /p//b/ /t//d//ei//æ//i://e/. Explain the differences in the position of the lips, tongue and the vibration of the vocal cords for each sound. Word Grouping: Write a series of words on the blackboard and ask students to group them according to the target sounds. For example, group "pen", "map" under /p/, and "bag", "job" under /b/. Let students practice reading the words in each group. Minimal Pair Practice: Present minimal pairs like "pig - big", "tea - day", "cake - cat", "bee - bed" to students. Let them listen carefully to the differences in pronunciation and then practice reading them in pairs. Walk around the classroom to monitor and correct students' pronunciation. 5.4 Pair Work (10 minutes) Topic Assignment: Give students a topic for pair work: "What makes a good friend?". Ask them to discuss with their partners using the new words and phrases they have just learned. For example, they can say "A good friend should be honest and never lie to me." or "A good friend will look after me when I have a problem." Report Back: After 5 minutes of discussion, ask several pairs of students to report back their ideas to the whole class. Encourage other students to listen carefully and add any additional points if they have. 5.5 Summary and Homework (10 minutes) Summary: Summarize the new words, phrases and pronunciation points of this class on the blackboard. Ask students to copy them down in their notebooks. Review the key points by asking students some questions, such as "What does 'honest' mean?" or "How do we pronounce the word 'cat'?". Homework: Ask students to make a list of at least 5 sentences using the new words and phrases to describe their ideal friends. Ask students to practice the pronunciation of the sounds /p//b/ /t//d//ei//æ//i://e/ by recording themselves reading a short passage containing these sounds and send the recording to the teacher through the learning platform. 教学反思 After this class, students showed great interest in the topic of friendship, which made the class atmosphere active. The use of pictures and videos in the warming - up and presentation stages effectively attracted students' attention and helped them understand new words better. However, during the pronunciation teaching, some students still had difficulty distinguishing between similar sounds, especially /ei/ and /æ/, /i:/ and /e/. In future classes, more targeted pronunciation exercises, such as tongue - twisters and more minimal pair practice, should be designed. Also, during the pair - work activity, some students were a bit shy to express their opinions. Teachers need to encourage these students more and create a more relaxed communication environment to improve their speaking confidence. Overall, through this class, students have initially mastered the new words and pronunciation related to friendship, but there is still room for improvement in terms of pronunciation accuracy and students' speaking initiative. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
