Develop students' ability to analyze and summarize information from reading materials, and be able to make a simple travel introduction or recommendation based on the learned content. 3. Emotional Objectives Stimulate students' interest in traveling and exploring different cultures, broadening their horizons and enhancing their cultural awareness. Encourage students to actively participate in classroom discussions and group activities, cultivating their teamwork spirit and confidence in using English. 教学重难点 1. Key Sentence Patterns I'm planning to visit Beijing during the coming holiday. The best time to go to Hainan is in winter. We are looking forward to seeing the beautiful scenery there. They set off early in the morning to catch the first train. Did you make a reservation for the hotel in advance? 3. Grammar Focus Present Continuous Tense for Future Arrangements: Structure: be + doing. For example, I'm leaving for Shanghai tomorrow. It indicates a pre - planned future action. Simple Past Tense for Past Travel Experiences: Structure: verb - ed (regular verbs) or irregular verb forms. For example, We visited the Great Wall last week. It is used to describe actions that happened in the past. 教学过程 1. Warming - up (5 minutes) Show some pictures of famous travel destinations around the world, such as the Eiffel Tower in France, the Great Wall in China, and the Statue of Liberty in the USA. Ask students: "Do you know these places? Have you ever been to any of them? If you have a chance to travel, where would you like to go?" Encourage students to share their ideas briefly. This activity can arouse students' interest in the topic of travel and lead to the following reading content smoothly. 2. Pre - reading (10 minutes) Present some new words and phrases related to travel on the blackboard or through a PPT. Teach students how to pronounce and explain the meanings. For example, when teaching "destination", show some pictures of different tourist destinations and say: "A destination is a place where you are going. Look, these are all popular destinations for travelers." Then, ask students to read the words and phrases after the teacher several times. Divide students into pairs. Give each pair a simple travel - related question, such as "What do you think is the most important thing to consider when planning a trip?" or "How do you usually get information about a travel destination?" Let them discuss for a few minutes and then invite some pairs to share their ideas with the whole class. This can activate students' prior knowledge about travel and prepare them for better understanding of the reading texts. 3. While - reading (15 minutes) Skimming: Distribute the reading materials to students. Ask them to skim the texts quickly (about 2 - 3 minutes) and answer the following questions: "What are the main topics of the texts? Which travel destinations are mentioned?" After students finish skimming, check the answers together and briefly summarize the main ideas of the texts. Scanning: Let students read the texts carefully again and scan for specific information. Provide some detailed questions on the PPT, such as "When did the writer go to the destination?" "What kind of accommodation did they choose?" "What interesting things did they do there?" Students need to find the relevant information in the texts and answer the questions. Walk around the classroom to offer help if necessary. After that, ask students to report their answers. Language Points Explanation: Select some important new words, phrases, and sentence patterns in the texts. Explain their usages and let students understand how to use them in context. For example, for the sentence "I'm looking forward to trying the local food there.", explain that "look forward to" is followed by a verb - ing form and it means expecting something with pleasure. Then, give students some similar sentences to practice, like "He is looking forward to ____ (see) his old friends." Let students fill in the blanks. 4. Post - reading (10 minutes) Group Work: Divide students into groups of 4 - 5. Assign each group a travel destination. Ask them to make a simple travel introduction based on the reading methods and knowledge they have learned. They need to include information such as the best time to visit, famous attractions, accommodation, and transportation. Each group has about 5 minutes to prepare. Then, each group chooses a representative to present their travel introduction to the class. Other groups can ask questions or give suggestions. Summary: Summarize the key points of this class, including new words, phrases, sentence patterns, and reading strategies. Emphasize the importance of using English to express travel - related ideas. 5. Homework Assignment (5 minutes) Ask students to write a short passage about their dream travel destination. They should include at least 80 words and use the knowledge and sentence patterns learned in this class. Encourage students to collect more information about their favorite travel destinations and share it in the next class. 教学反思 After this class, students generally showed a high level of interest in the topic of travel. Through various activities, most students were able to master the new words and phrases, and could use the key sentence patterns to a certain extent. However, there are still some problems. In the while - reading part, some students had difficulty understanding long and complex sentences, which affected their overall comprehension of the texts. In the future, more time should be spent on analyzing complex sentences and training students' ability to break them down. During the group work, some students were a bit shy and did not actively participate in the discussion. Teachers need to pay more attention to these students and encourage them to be more involved. In general, the teaching objectives were basically achieved, but there is still room for improvement in teaching methods and student participation. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
