Show some pictures of famous people like scientists, athletes, and artists on the PPT. Ask students: "Do you know these people? Who do you admire most among them and why?" Encourage several students to share their answers briefly. This activity can quickly arouse students' interest and lead in the topic of role models. 2. Pre - reading (10 minutes) Present a title "My Neighbor - A Role Model" on the blackboard. Let students predict what the text might be about according to the title. Then, show some new words and phrases on the PPT, such as "neighbor", "helpful", "volunteer", "local community". Teach these words and phrases to students. Explain their meanings, pronunciations, and usages. For example, for the word "helpful", give an example sentence: "My mother is very helpful. She always helps our neighbors when they are in trouble." Let students read the words and phrases after the teacher several times to make sure they can pronounce them correctly. 3. While - reading (15 minutes) Fast Reading Let students read the text quickly and answer the question: "Who is the writer's role model?" After students finish reading, ask them to raise their hands to answer the question. Careful Reading Ask students to read the text again carefully. Divide them into groups of four. Each group discusses and answers the following questions: What does the neighbor do? Why does the writer admire the neighbor? What good qualities does the neighbor have? After the group discussion, invite several groups to share their answers with the whole class. Write the key points on the blackboard. 4. Post - reading (10 minutes) Retelling Based on the key points on the blackboard, ask students to retell the text in their own words. First, let them practice retelling in pairs. Then, invite some pairs to come to the front of the class and retell the story. Give them proper praise and encouragement. Group Discussion Pose a question: "In your opinion, what other people around you can be role models? And what can we learn from them?" Divide students into new groups. Each group has a discussion. Each group member is required to share at least one idea. After the discussion, ask each group to choose a representative to report their group's discussion results to the class. 5. Summary and Homework (5 minutes) Summary Summarize the key vocabulary, phrases, and sentence patterns learned in this class with students. Review the main content of the text and the qualities of role models. Homework Ask students to write a short passage about their own role models. They should include the basic information of their role models, the reasons why they admire them, and what they have learned from them. The passage should be at least 80 words. 教学反思 After this class, overall, the teaching objectives have been basically achieved. The warming - up activity successfully attracted students' attention and made them actively participate in the class. During the reading process, most students could understand the text and extract key information with the guidance of the teacher. However, there are still some aspects that need improvement. In the group discussion part, some students were a little shy and did not actively express their opinions. In the future, more encouragement and guidance should be given to these students to create a more relaxed and active discussion atmosphere. Also, when teaching new words and phrases, more vivid and interesting teaching methods can be used, such as showing short videos or using more real - life examples, to help students better understand and remember. In addition, for the writing homework, in the next class, more time can be allocated to let students share their passages with each other, so as to further improve their writing ability through peer - to - peer learning. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
