复习书信的格式和写作要求。
语言技能
能根据框架结构和提示,以 Brad 的身份给曾经招待果他的美国寄宿家庭写一封感谢信。
学习策略
1. 主动复习主阅读篇章中的有关寄宿家庭的内容并加以整理和归纳。
2. 主动复习信件的写作要求和格式。
教学重点
根据提示的内容,确定感谢信中各段落的内容。
教学难点
合理发挥想象,撰写段落主题句。
教学过程
Step 1 复习正式书信的格式和写作要求,引入感谢信的主题。
1. 教师呈现一封书信,帮助学生复习正式书信的格式和写作要求。
2. 学生阅读A部分的指令语,了解写作任务。
3. 学生以Brad 的口吻,完成写给Hurst 一家的感谢信的问候语和结束语部分。如:
· 问候语:
Dear Mr and Mrs Hurst,
How are you?/ I hope you are well. ...
· 结束语:
I hope to hear from you soon.

Step 2 撰写感谢信的内容。
1. 学生以小组为单位,开展“头脑风暴”,讨论写给Hurst 一家的感谢信应该包括哪些方面的内容。如:
What you like best what you experienced
about the stay during the visit

your wish what you have done since
what you miss you returned to China

2. 学生根据“头脑风暴”的结果,撰写各方面内容的主题句。如:
· your thanks to the family: Thank you for taking care of me during my stay in the US.
· what you like best about the stay: I had a lot of happy memories with you.
· what you experienced during the visit: I experienced the culture shock during the visit.
· what you have done since you returned to China: I have told my friends about my experience in the US.
· what you miss about the visit: I miss you and the school very much.
· you wish: I would like you to come and visit me in China soon.
3. 学生阅读A部分的写作提纲和相关提示,并参照意思主题句,合理安排段落内容。
如:
Paragraph 1
Thank you for taking care of me during my stay in the US.
Paragraph 2
I had a lot of happy memories with you. I still remember playing in the snow happily in your backyard last winter. ... To tell you the truth, I experienced the culture shock during my stay in the US. The language, the food and the school were all quite strange to me. ...
Paragraph 3
I have told my friends about my experience in the US since I came back. They were surprised to know that some American students have pink or purple hair. Anyway, I miss you and the school very much. How are my classmates and the teachers in the US? ... I would like you to come and visit me in China soon. I hope to take you to visit some places of interest around my city.
Step 3 完成给 Hurst 一家的感谢信。
1. 学生以 Brad 的口吻,独立完成给 Hurst 一家的一封感谢信。
2. 学生分小组交流并讨论修改各自额感谢信。
回家作业
1. 根据与同学交流讨论的结果进一步修改自己的感谢信。
2. 完成《英语(九年级 下册)B》第28页Writing的练习。
