Warming - up (5 minutes) Greet the students and show some pictures of popular sports, such as football, basketball, swimming, etc. on the PPT. Ask students: “What sports do you see in the pictures? Do you like these sports? Why or why not?” Encourage students to share their ideas briefly. Purpose: To arouse students’ interest in the topic of sports and create a relaxed class atmosphere. 2. Lead - in (5 minutes) Ask students to think and talk with their partners about the questions: “What sports do you like? Why? Who do you play the sports with?” Give them some minutes to discuss and then invite several pairs to share their conversations with the class. Purpose: To activate students’ prior knowledge about sports and lead them to the main topic of this class. 3. Pre - listening (5 minutes) Present a situation: “A school TV host is interviewing two students. They are both top students and sports stars of the school.” Then ask students to predict what questions the host may ask the students. Write down their predictions on the blackboard. Purpose: To train students’ ability to predict content based on given information and prepare them for the listening task. 4. While - listening (10 minutes) Play the recording of the interview for the first time. Students listen carefully and check if their predicted questions are in the interview. Play the recording again. This time, students need to listen and complete the tasks in the textbook, such as choosing the correct answers and filling in the blanks. After listening, check the answers with the whole class and explain any difficult points. Purpose: To improve students’ listening skills of obtaining specific information and understanding details. 5. Post - listening (10 minutes) Divide students into groups of four. Let them discuss the following questions based on the listening content: “What’s the secret to having time for both sports and schoolwork? How do you think you can manage your time like the students in the interview?” Each group selects a representative to report their group’s discussion results to the class. Purpose: To promote students’ speaking skills and critical thinking ability, and help them learn from others’ experiences. 6. Summary (5 minutes) Review the key vocabulary and sentence patterns learned in this class with the students. Write them on the blackboard and ask students to read them aloud. Summarize the main ideas of the listening material and the discussions, emphasizing the importance of sports and how to balance them with studies. Purpose: To strengthen students’ memory of key knowledge and help them form a clear understanding of the topic. 7. Homework (5 minutes) Ask students to write a short passage about their favorite sport, including why they like it, how often they play it, and how they balance it with their studies. Encourage students to interview their family members or friends about their sports habits and share the results in the next class. Purpose: To consolidate students’ learning in class through writing and practical activities, and further expand their knowledge about sports. 教学反思 After this class, I will reflect on the following aspects: Teaching Process: Whether the time arrangement for each part is reasonable. For example, if students need more time for group discussions, I may adjust the time of the pre - listening or summary part in the future. Student Participation: Observe whether all students actively participated in class activities. If some students were left out, I will think about how to encourage their participation, such as asking more open - ended questions or pairing them with more active students. Teaching Effect: Evaluate whether students have achieved the teaching objectives. If students still have difficulties in using the vocabulary or expressing their ideas about balancing sports and studies, I will design more relevant exercises or activities in the next class to help them improve. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
