Step 2: Reading & Comprehension
Activity 1: Advertisement Reading and Question Answering
Have students read the advertisement and answer questions A - C:
· A: How many activities are included in the 5 - day trip to the Amazon Rainforest? (Five activities: meet monkeys and birds, explore the rainforest, float on the Amazon River, discover local cultures, search for hidden treasures; plus three activities in the Galapagos Islands: take a boat trip, ride a bike, shop at markets.)
· B: What destination will you visit besides the Amazon Rainforest? (The Galapagos Islands.)
· C: What services are provided if you join the tour? (Delicious daily meals, professional hotel service, expert local guides for 5 days, transportation as listed, activities as listed.)
Check answers to ensure students grasp the main content of the advertisement.
Activity 2: Email Completion about Amazon Trip
Guide students to read the advertisement again and complete Danny's email to Jenny about his Amazon Rainforest trip.
Step 3: Writing & Sharing
Activity: 5 - Day Forest Travel Plan Writing
Invite students to suppose they are going on a 5 - day trip to a forest and write about their travel plan, including activities for each day. Then have some students share their travel plans with the class.
Step 4: Discussion & Summary
Activity: Travel Experience Discussion
Ask students to discuss in groups about their dream travel destinations and what they would like to do there. Then invite groups to share their ideas.
Activity 2: Lesson Summary
Recap key vocabulary and phrases (Amazon Rainforest and travel - related terms), the content of the advertisement about the Amazon trip, and the structure of writing a travel plan.
Step 5: Homework Assignment
