英语八年级上册RJ版 教案 第三课时 Grammar Focus(3a~3c) 一、教学内容 1.Talk about comparatives with -(i)er,more and as…as. 2.Use comparatives to describe two objects. 二、课时教学目标 Language Abilities ●Grasp the following important points,and be able to read and write correctly. ●Key words and phrases:population,square,million,area,average,earlier,as…as,than,slimmer ●Key sentences:①It is more colourful than last year.②Emma is taller than Ella,but her hair is shorter than Ella's.③Ella dances better than Emma,but Emma sings louder than her.④Emma always gets up earlier than me,but I work as hard as her! Learning Abilities ●Master the formation rules of different comparative forms. ●Learn to select appropriate comparative structures based on the characteristics of what is being compared. Thinking Qualities ●Be able to analyze the characteristics and usages of different comparative forms,and compare the differences and applicable scenarios. ●Be able to use comparatives creatively to describe objects from different perspectives. Cultural Awareness ●Understand differing cultural views and descriptive approaches toward similar objects. ●Recognize the linguistic habits and cultural traits of English-speaking countries when describing things. 三、重点难点 重点: 1.Students will master the basic formation rules and usages of common comparative forms. 2.Students will understand pronunciation rules for adjective comparative forms and pronounce them correctly. 3.Students will use complete sentences to describe comparisons between two objects. 难点: 1.Students will memorize irregular comparative forms (especially irregular adjectives). 2.Students will master the usage of modifiers (much,a little,even) to emphasize comparative degrees. 四、教学过程 Step 1 Review & Lead-in Play a video of the winter in Hainan and Harbin. Ask students to watch and then answer the questions. T:Which cities are mentioned in the video? Which season does it show about? S1:The radio shows Hainan and Harbin. It's about winter. T:Are there any differences of winter in the two cities? S2:Harbin is colder than Hainan. S3:… 【设计意图】通过看视频对比城市的不同导入新课,为接下来的语法学习作铺垫,同时学生能够复习已学的知识。 Step 2 Grammar(3a) Work on 3a 1.Ask students to read the sentences and pay attention to the comparatives in bold. Then find more examples in Section A of the textbook. 2.Ask students to observe the bold words and explore the formation rules of adjective comparatives through these examples,as well as when to use comparatives (group work). 3.Provide additional language usages not mentioned in the textbook. (When students share the answers,the teacher writes key points on the blackboard. If necessary,correct their mistakes at the same time.) 【设计意图】通过小组合作观察并总结语言现象,激发学生的自主学习能力。 Step 3 Practising(3b~3c) Work on 3b Ask students to use the words in brackets to write questions and answers. T:Read the four conversations and draft the most appropriate question for each. Work on 3c 1.The teacher shows two videos about the introduction of Guangzhou and Vancouver and asks students some facts about the two cities. T:Here are two videos about Guangzhou and Vancouver. Watch them and share what you learn. S1:Guangzhou is over 7,000 square kilometres in area. S2:Vancouver is in Canada. 2.Ask students to study the chart and complete the sentences. T:This chart lists facts about the two cities. Now,let's compare Guangzhou and Vancouver using the words in the box and the conjunction “than”. (The teacher gives an example first.) 3.Students share their answers,and the teacher corrects the pronunciations of comparative words. 【设计意图】通过问答和做练习,学生能够在真实的情境中充分理解和掌握目标语法。 Step 4 Speaking 1.The teacher pre-writes notes (including pairs of figures or cities,such as Li Bai/Du Fu,Beijing/Shanghai,etc.) and places them into a carton or envelope. 2.Group leaders draw a note,and group members discuss its content,trying to create comparative sentences within 5 minutes. 3.Each group sends a representative to present in dialogue form. Step 6 Homework 1.Do the exercises in students' workbooks. 2.Extended:Compare you with your best friend and write 3 to 5 sentences using comparatives. 五、板书设计 Unit 3 Same or Different? 第三课时 Grammar Focus(3a~3c) 形容词和副词比较级的变化规律 单音节词和部分双音节词,词尾直接加-er tall-taller fast-faster 以字母e结尾的单音节词和部分双音节词,词尾加-r nice-nicer late-later 以“辅音字母+y”结尾的双音节词,把y改为i,再加-er happy-happier early-earlier 以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母时,先双写该辅音字母,再加-er big-bigger hot-hotter 部分双音节词和多音节词,在词前加more beautiful-more beautiful carefully-more carefully 不规则变化 good/well-better bad/badly-worse many/much-more little-less far-father/further 用法: 比较级+than as+形容词或副词原形+as 比较级修饰语:much,far,even,a little,a bit… 六、教学反思 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
