B Positioned high above New York’s fish-filled Hudson River, the Bear Mountain Bridge, a 2,255-foot suspension bridge roughly 50 miles north of Manhattan, offers an appealing nesting ground for ospreys, which are masters at flying down into bodies of water to catch fish. The large birds have nests atop the bridge tower. However, this is not their first time on this scenic spot. “Two years ago at the bridge, the large birds started building nests on top of the tower,” says Craig Gardner, manager of maintenance for the New York State Bridge Authority. “We had to go up to try to encourage them to go someplace else. But last year, before we could get the nests, they laid eggs.” While the nesting birds are a good indicator of the ecological recovery of the Hudson, the nests can pose some risks to approximately 20,000 vehicles per day which cross the Bear Mountain Bridge. The nest itself is about 250 feet above the roadway, so if a stick, a branch, or even a fish falls out of it, cars and people below are at risk. The New York State Bridge Authority, which operates and maintains five bridges along the Mid-Hudson River Valley, typically tries to encourage the birds to nest on the lower spots, closer to the river and away from cars. But these birds appear to be seeking out the top spots with impressive views. The solution: a human-built steel nesting box made especially for the ospreys. Instead of dismantling the nests, workers installed (安装) a steel box so that the birds could have a safer place to build nests. The box is similar to a basket with the mesh (细网) inside. “The birds went back there as soon as we left, rearranging the sticks and establishing their nests,” says Gardner. 4. Why did the workers of the Authority go up to the tower two years ago? A. To build safer nests. B. To collect the eggs. C. To count the nesting birds. D. To drive the ospreys away. 5. What is paragraph 3 intended to stress? A. The bridge needs updating for its appeal. B. Nests above the roadway can cause risks. C. Nesting birds benefit the local ecosystem. D. Ospreys are not masters at building nests. 6. What does the underlined word “dismantling” in paragraph 5 most probably mean? A. Decoration. B. Locating. C. Removing. D. Repairing. 7. Which topic is closely related to the text? A. Wildlife Protection Is Worrying B. Urban Planning Requires Creativity C. Humans and Animals Live in Harmony D. Advanced Technology Works Wonders C The rise of conversational AI chatbots has introduced a new dimension to the challenge of fighting against climate misinformation. These advanced language models, capable of generating human-written text, are now being used to spread false or misleading information about climate science, making it increasingly difficult for the public to distinguish fact from fiction. This poses a significant barrier for both human readers and automated detection systems. In response, climate experts are using some of the same tools to detect false information online. A study, conducted by Erik Nisbet, a communications expert at Northwestern University, and his coworkers, employed a comprehensive dataset known as CARDS, comprised of nearly 29,000 paragraphs gathered from climate-skeptics’ (怀疑论者) websites and blogs. The paragraphs fall into five categories: denial of global warming, rejection of human influence, downplaying climate impacts, skepticism towards solutions, and attacks on the credibility of climate science and advocacy. Using this dataset, the researchers fine-tuned a version of OpenAI's GPT-3.5-turbo3, creating a climate-specific Large Language Model (LLM). The performance of this specialized model was then compared to 16 general-purpose LLMs, including GPT-4, and a smaller, open-source model called RoBERTa, also trained on the CARDS dataset. The fine-tuned GPT model achieved a classification accuracy score of 0.84 out of 1.00, significantly outperforming the general-purpose models, which scored between 0.74 and 0.77, similar to the smaller RoBERTa model. This difference in performance emphasizes the need for greater investment in open-source LLMs tailored for climate misinformation detection. Hannah Metzler, a misinformation expert, points out that the resource limits faced by climate organizations often prevent them from using the most powerful models. Further testing reveals another challenge: even the fine-tuned GPT model struggled to categorize claims about the impact of climate change on biodiversity, likely due to insufficient training data on this specific topic. “The dynamic nature of the false climate information necessitates constant adaptation and updating of detection models, making it a lasting cat-and-mouse game,” says Metzler. 8. What problem do conversational AI chatbots cause according to the text? A. The slow generation of text on climate. B. The spread of false climate information. C. Readers’ less interest in climate science. D. Humans’ inability to focus or think deeply. 9. How did the researchers carry out the study? A. By tracking 29,000 AI tool users. B. By interviewing climate-skeptics. C. By conducting a nationwide survey. D. By making use of a dataset. 10. What is Metzler’s advice on dealing with false climate information? A. Design a fun cat-and-mouse game. B. Put a ban on climate organizations. C. Encourage topics on climate change. D. Keep improving AI detection tools. 11. From which section of a magazine is the text most probably taken? A. Science. B. Literature. C. Education. D. Health. D Leafy vegetables are widely considered to be a healthy and refreshing food choice. Eating enough vegetables which are packed with fiber, vitamins and minerals supports your overall health. However, it can be tough for all sorts of people, from busy moms to picky kids, to get the leafy greens their bodies need. That's why many people are attracted by an emerging trend called “dinosaur time”. The trend, which encourages people to get their daily serving of leafy greens by gobbling (狼吞虎咽) them up like dinosaurs, originated with former middle school science teacher, CrossFit enthusiast and stay-at-home mom, Amy Garrett. Garrett's online videos have millions of views and have inspired others to gobble down on the healthy trend. Garrett's recipe consists of eating fistfuls (一把) of romaine lettuce, spinach, or other greens, without preparing them or putting them in a salad. Instead, she consumes them like she came straight out of the dinosaur era, often with dinosaur-themed music playing in the background. She also emphasizes the importance of washing vegetables before eating them, if they aren't already pre-washed. It isn't just grown-ups that get inspired by “dinosaur time”. Young children naturally enjoy pretending to be dinosaurs and parents, with the help of this odd trend, are using their little ones' imaginations to encourage them to eat healthier. “‘Dinosaur time’ isn't intended to replace meals,” Garrett told the New York Post. “The recipe is intended to be a supplement (补充) to an existing meal to get your greens out of the way so you can enjoy the things you actually like to eat, whether that be a burger, a slice of pizza, a sandwich, etc.” A warning: People who are at risk of kidney stones should think twice before following the trend and those who are on blood thinners should consult their doctors before changing their diet. 12. What can be learned from paragraph 1? A. It's beneficial to eat leafy greens. B. Food choices are limited currently. C. Parents and kids argue over eating. D. Many people hate cooking at home. 13. What are those strictly following Garrett's recipe unlikely to do? A. Listen to music over meals sometimes. B. Ensure their food is washed before eating. C. Eat well-cooked leafy vegetables all the time. D. Refuse to prepare a vegetable salad on a busy day. 14. Which of the following shows the author's opinion? A. It's unnecessary to eat what you dislike. B. Garrett's recipe is a challenge for parents. C. “Dinosaur time” isn't suitable for everyone. D. Doctors should ask patients to eat vegetables. 15. What is the text mainly about? A. A popular solution that replaces meals. B. A trend that encourages healthy eating. C. A traditional lifestyle that excites kids. D. A recipe that frees parents from cooking. Special occasions are times when we celebrate life milestones and significant moments. At thirteen, Jack still rode the bike his mom, Mrs. Green, bought for him in his fourth grade. He went back home with his bike and greeted his mom, whose eyes were glued to her computer. There was no response. Jack had been used to that since he entered middle school. Mrs. Green had been so busy that Jack could hardly chat with her about the happenings at his school. Jack really missed the days when his mom would take him to a nearby park for a walk after dinner. Last month, when Jack showed his mom his science fair certificate, she just said “Good job” while texting her boss. That evening, Jack waited by her desk for a while and said, “Mom, Jason’s mom promises to take him to bike every Saturday...” Picking up her coffee cup, Mrs. Green replied, “Be a big boy, Jack. You can take some money and buy something you like.” Then she stood up to answer her phone. Last week, Mrs. Green received a phone call from a hospital. When she rushed to the hospital, she was shocked to see her son lying in bed. When his mom was approaching him, Jack muttered (咕哝), “I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to cause trouble. I was just...” His explanation was interrupted by a sudden hug from his mom, whose body was shaking uncontrollably. During Jack’s three-day treatment in the hospital, his mom stayed day and night beside his bed, even though she still had to handle her work occasionally. On the day of Jack’s release from the hospital, Jack asked his mom if he could get a wish from her. Mrs. Green agreed with a loving smile, ready to know about her son’s request. “Could you walk with me in the park after dinner today?” Jack said. “That is my biggest wish.” Mrs. Green stared at her son with a surprised look but quickly nodded. That night, Mrs. Green took Jack to the park where they used to take a walk. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At that moment, Mrs. Green realized how much her son needed her company. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025~2026学年高三核心模拟卷(上) 英语(一) 注意事项: 1. 1. Advanced Technology Works Wonders 【答案】4. D 5. B 6. C 7. 根据第二段中““Two years ago at the bridge, the large birds started building nests on top of the tower,” says Craig Gardner, manager of maintenance for the New York State Bridge Authority. “We had to go up to try to encourage them to go someplace else.(纽约州桥梁管理局维护部经理克雷格·加德纳说:“两年前,这些大鸟开始在桥塔上筑巢。我们不得不上去,试图鼓励它们去别的地方。”)”可知,两年前,桥梁管理局的工人到塔上是为了把鱼鹰赶走,让它们去别的地方筑巢。故选D项。 【5题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第三段“While the nesting birds are a good indicator of the ecological recovery of the Hudson, the nests can pose some risks to approximately 20,000 vehicles per day which cross the Bear Mountain Bridge. The nest itself is about 250 feet above the roadway, so if a stick, a branch, or even a fish falls out of it, cars and people below are at risk.(虽然筑巢的鸟类是哈德逊河生态恢复的一个良好指标,但这些巢可能会对每天大约2万辆经过熊山大桥的车辆构成一些风险。鸟巢本身就在公路上方约250英尺的地方,所以如果有棍子、树枝,甚至鱼从里面掉出来,下面的汽车和人都有危险)”可知,第三段主要强调了桥上的鸟巢可能会对过往的车辆和行人造成危险。故选B项。 【6题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线词前文“Instead of”和后文“workers installed (安装) a steel box so that the birds could have a safer place to build nests.(工人们安装了一个钢箱,这样鸟儿们就有了一个更安全的地方筑巢)”可知,工人们没有拆除鸟巢,而是安装了一个钢箱,让鸟儿们有一个更安全的地方筑巢,故可推测出划线词dismantling意思是“拆除”,与C项“Removing”意思一致。故选C项。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。通读全文,结合第五段中“The solution: a human-built steel nesting box made especially for the ospreys. Instead of dismantling the nests, workers installed (安装) a steel box so that the birds could have a safer place to build nests.(解决方案:一个专门为鱼鹰建造的人造钢制巢箱。工人们没有拆除鸟巢,而是安装了一个钢箱,这样鸟儿们就有了一个更安全的地方筑巢)”可知,本文主要讲述了纽约哈德逊河上方的熊山大桥上,鱼鹰筑巢给过往车辆带来安全隐患,为此纽约州桥梁管理局为鱼鹰安装人工筑巢箱,以保障安全,这体现了人与动物和谐共处的主题。故选C项。 C The rise of conversational AI chatbots has introduced a new dimension to the challenge of fighting against climate misinformation. A. Science. B. Literature. C. Education. D. Health. 【答案】8. B 9. D 10. D 11. 【答案】12. A 13. C 14. C 15. The 38. retired 39. curiosity 40. for 41. was invited 42. explored 43. seeing 44. to struggle 45. immediately 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了69岁的澳大利亚人迈克尔·萨根(Michael Sagan)重走红军长征路的故事。 【36题详解】 考查定语从句。句意:4月19日,萨根与来自和君职业学院的100多名师生一起,在会昌县白鹅乡紫坑村原中央政治部旧址开始了他们的旅程。“_____ came from Hejun Vocational College”为限制性定语从句,先行词是“more than 100 teachers and students”,指人,关系词将其代入定语从句中作主语,应使用关系代词that或who引导该从句。故填that/who。 【37题详解】 考查冠词。句意:该支队伍穿过贡江大桥,经过山凤坝渡口,到达于都县中央红军长征出发纪念碑——长征的起点。此处特指上文提到的“more than 100 teachers and students”这支队伍,应用定冠词the修饰,且位于句首,首字母需大写。故填The。 故填for。 【41题详解】 考查时态语态和主谓一致。句意:尽管学院认为他年纪太大,不适合这个角色,但还是邀请他去参观。invite(邀请)是主句谓语动词,与主语“he”之间是被动关系,结合语境可知,讲述过去的事情应使用一般过去时的被动语态,又因主语是第三人称单数代词,谓语动词也应用单数形式。故填was invited。 故填to struggle。 Dear Martin, ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours sincerely, Li Hua 【答案】One possible version: Dear Martin, Excited to hear that you’re planning to add more fun activities to our English class, I’d like to recommend the “Movie Dialogue Challenge” activity to make our English lessons more engaging. 注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 That night, Mrs. Green took Jack to the park where they used to take a walk. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At that moment, Mrs. Green realized how much her son needed her company. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: That night, Mrs. Green took Jack to the park where they used to take a walk. At first, there was an awkward silence between them. When some fireflies appeared, Jack began to tell his mom the funny happenings in his science class. He even recalled the exciting moment when he got his science fair certificate. Listening to her son attentively, Mrs. Green was surprised that her son was so “talkative” and cheerful. When she reminded Jack that it was time for them to go home, Jack stopped in his tracks and whispered, “I don’t want to call it a day.” At that moment, Mrs. Green realized how much her son needed her company. She patted her son on the head and said gently, “We can take a walk tomorrow night.” Jack asked with a doubtful look, “You mean it?” Mrs. Green nodded firmly and added, “I can also ride bikes with you every Saturday if you like. Maybe you need a new bike...” Jack gave his mom a bear hug before she could continue. Then Jack urged his mom to go home because he knew she had some work to deal with, promising to make a cup of coffee for her. 词汇激活 行为类 ①回忆:recall /remember ②告诉:tell/inform ③处理:deal with/do with 情绪类 ①令人尴尬的:awkward /embarrassing ②惊讶的:surprised/astonished 【点睛】【高分句型 1】Listening to her son attentively, Mrs. Green was surprised that her son was so “talkative” and cheerful.
