Rocky Mountaineer This luxury railcar journey is one of the most popular in the United States. It operates throughout the American Southwest. Its most famous route is the Rockies to Red rocks journey, which starts in Denver and ends in Moab, Utah. But there are four other jaw-dropping routes that will take you through the US’s most rugged landscapes, from its towering Rockies to its lowest, most colorful canyons (峡谷). Durango & Silverton Narrow gauge Railway Silver and gold were being mined and exported from the Durango and Silverton areas by this short-and-sweet railroad when it was in operation, which makes it a National Historic Landmark. The experience takes you onto the railways of yore deep into the San Juan Mountains, offering jaw-dropping views during any season. Just know that it’s a steam engine, making it louder than other trains. Grand Canyon Railway If you want an unbeatable entrance into the Grand Canyon, go on the Grand Canyon Railway. It’s been in operation since 1901 and has had over a century to nail its service. You can choose from six different options when you buy your ticket based on comfort and service levels. If views are your focus, go with the Observation Dome. Cape Cod Central Railway This fun train journey takes you across the Cape Cod region, specializing in lunch, brunch, and dinner journeys. All excursion trains come with various classes, letting you choose the tickets that suit your budget. The same for public and private tables, which makes this a surprisingly affordable add-on to any Cape Cod trip. 1. Which route of Rocky Mountaineer is the most famous? A. From Rockies to Grand Canyon. B. From Denver to Moab, Utah. C. From Denver to San Juan Mountains. D. From Moab, Utah to Cape Cod. 2. Why is Durango & Silverton Narrow gauge Railway a National Historic Landmark? A. It owns loud steam trains. B. It has a history of over a century. C. It operates in the San Juan Mountains. D. It once transported silver and gold mines. 3. What should you choose for the best views on Grand Canyon Railway? A. The private service. B. The cheapest option. C. The Observation Dome. D. The lunch journey ticket. B 2. D 3. 根据Rocky Mountaineer部分中“Its most famous route is the Rockies to Red rocks journey, which starts in Denver and ends in Moab, Utah.(其最著名的路线是“落基山脉至红岩”的之旅,该路线始于丹佛,终点在犹他州的莫阿布)”可知,Rocky Mountaineer最著名的路线是从丹佛出发,终点为犹他州的摩押。 根据Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad部分中“Silver and gold were being mined and exported from the Durango and Silverton areas by this short-and-sweet railroad when it was in operation, which makes it a National Historic Landmark.(在运营期间,这条短而便捷的铁路从杜兰戈和西尔弗顿地区开采并运出了银矿和金矿,因此它被列为国家历史遗迹)”可知,该铁路曾用于运输银矿和金矿,这一历史背景使其成为国家历史地标。 根据 Grand Canyon Railway部分中“If views are your focus, go with the Observation Dome.(如果您更注重观赏效果,那就选择“观景穹顶”吧)”可知,若想在该铁路上欣赏最佳风景,应选择Observation Dome。故选C。 B After moving house for the 11th time, Barbara Iweins decided to take stock of her life-and everything in it. Going from room to room, Iweins spent almost five years documenting every single object she owns, from loose Lego bricks and old key chains to remote controls and kitchen utensils. The resulting 12,795 images offer a true portrait of the Belgian photographer. All of the images were posted on social media and many users liked those images a lot. While photographing her possessions, Iweins categorized them by color, material and the frequency with which they were used (from once a day to never). Her project provided plenty of insights, both surprising and amusing. Blue is the dominant color in her house accounting for 16% of all items, while 12% of her clothes are black. Of the items in her bathroom, 43% are made from plastic. Some 90% of the cables in her house are never used, and 19% of her books remain unread. And while often ordinary, individual objects contain the stories of her life: The old novel she took from her father’s library when she was 16, the hospital bracelet she wore when giving birth. Over the years, Iweins spent an average of 15 hours a week on the project. “I started, because I really believed that I was tired of moving house and moving my stuff around,” she said. “And then I realized that it wasn’t about that at all. It was more like an act of self-preservation — that doing something every day was really about organizing my life in my head. It was a positive process. Bringing order to the chaos became a kind of ‘therapy’ that helped me overcome the difficulties. Now that the project is done, and I have identified which objects are valuable, I can start living and move on,” she added. 4. What made Iweins document her belongings at first? A. Much free time. B. Her unsettled life. C. Her job as a photographer. D. Advice from social media. 5. Which word best describes Iweins according to paragraph 2? A. Patient. B. Creative. C. Generous. D. Friendly. 6. How is paragraph 3 mainly developed? A. By listing figures. B. By analyzing causes. C. By showing differences. D. By following time order. 7. What does the project bring to Iweins? A. A simple life. B. A sense of pride. C. Confidence in life. D. Respect from others. B 5. A 6. A 7. 根据第一段中“After moving house for the 11th time, Barbara Iweins decided to take stock of her life-and everything in it. (在第11次搬家后,Barbara Iweins决定审视自己的生活——以及生活中的所有物品。)”和最后一段中的““I started, because I really believed that I was tired of moving house and moving my stuff around,” she said. (“我开始做这个项目,是因为我真的厌倦了搬家和搬运我的东西。”她说。)”可知,Iweins最初记录个人物品是因为频繁搬家带来的不稳定生活。故选B项。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中的“Going from room to room, Iweins spent almost five years documenting every single object she owns, from loose Lego bricks and old key chains to remote controls and kitchen utensils. (Iweins逐个房间查看,花了近五年时间记录她拥有的每一件物品,从零散的乐高积木、旧钥匙链到遥控器和厨房用具。)”可知,她耗时近五年细致记录每一件物品,体现出极大的耐心。故选A项。 根据第三段中的“Blue is the dominant color in her house accounting for 16% of all items, while 12% of her clothes are black. Of the items in her bathroom, 43% are made from plastic. Some 90% of the cables in her house are never used, and 19% of her books remain unread. (蓝色是她家物品的主色调,占所有物品的16%,而她12%的衣服是黑色的。在她浴室的物品中,43%是塑料材质的。她家约90%的电线从未使用过,19%的书仍未读过。)”可知,Iweins对自己的东西按照颜色、材质和使用频率做了分类,主要用具体的数字做了说明。故选A项。 根据最后一段中的““And then I realized that it wasn’t about that at all. It was more like an act of self-preservation — that doing something every day was really about organizing my life in my head. It was a positive process. Bringing order to the chaos became a kind of ‘therapy’ that helped me overcome the difficulties. Now that the project is done, and I have identified which objects are valuable, I can start living and move on,” she added.(“后来我才意识到,事情根本不是那样的。这更像是一种自我保护——每天做些事,本质上是在理清自己脑子里的生活秩序。这是一个积极的过程。为混乱的生活建立秩序,成了一种‘疗愈方式’,帮我渡过了难关。现在这个计划完成了,我也弄清楚了哪些东西是有价值的,终于可以重新开始生活、向前看了。”她补充道。)”可知,这个项目帮助Iweins克服困难、梳理人生,让她能重新开始生活,体现出该项目给她带来了对生活的信心。故选C项。 C By regaining a takeover of non-native species, native species have a chance of recovery in their natural habitats, according to a new study led by scientists from the University of California, Davis. The study, published in the journal Biological Conservation, explored how removing invasive bullfrogs (入侵牛蛙) could affect the native western pond turtles (海龟), which have experienced a major decline in their range. Some threats to the western pond turtles come from habitat destruction, development, pollution and disease, but invasive species are also a major threat, according to the Center for Biological Diversity. Reed canary grass and other invasive plants make it more difficult for the western pond turtles to find their nesting sites. Non-native animals such as bullfrogs, red-eared slider turtles and largemouth bass also pose threats by increasing competition for food, while bullfrogs feed on the western pond turtles, furthering their decline. “One reason the invasive bullfrogs are among the top worst globally introduced pests is because they eat everything — anything that fits into their mouth,” said Brian Todd, senior author of the study. From 2016 to 2022 researchers studied four sites in Yosemite National Park, two that maintained the bullfrog population and two that had the bullfrogs removed. In the ponds without bullfrogs, the researchers found that western pond turtles were between two and 100 times more plentiful compared to the ponds where bullfrogs remained. The team also found that only larger, older pond turtles survived in the ponds with bullfrogs. The removal of the bullfrogs made the presence of other native animals, in addition to the western pond turtles, noticeable to researchers. “As bullfrog presence declined, we started to hear other native frogs call and see native salamanders walking around,” said Sidney Woodruff, lead author of the study. Although the authors noted that bullfrog removal may not work at all ponds due to cost and time restrictions, they explained that the study showed the possibility of using this approach in the most conservation areas. “While the challenges associated with invasive species removal are significant, our study shows the potential benefit of stopping species declines and restoring freshwater ecosystems,” they concluded. 8. What can be learned from paragraph 2? A. Threats to pond turtles remain unknown. B. Pond turtles largely rely on plants to survive. C. Non-native animals are less capable of adapting. D. Invasive species negatively affect pond turtles. 9. What did the researchers do for their study? A. They relocated bullfrogs to four sites. B. They tracked the number of pond turtles. C. They took measures to protect old turtles. D. They introduced other species to the park. 10. What is the two authors’ opinion on bullfrog removal? A. It definitely holds certain value. B. It proves workable in any place. C. It is barely linked with challenges. D. It brings more other invasive species. 11. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Threats to Native Species Vary B. Study the Impact of Invasive Species C. Welcome Native Pond Turtles Back D. Pond Turtles Experience a Big Decline 【答案】8. D 9. B 10. A 11. 根据第二段第一句“Some threats to the western pond turtles come from habitat destruction, development, pollution and disease, but invasive species are also a major threat (西部池龟面临的一些威胁来自栖息地的破坏、开发、污染和疾病,但入侵物种也是一个主要威胁)”以及“ Non-native animals such as bullfrogs, red-eared slider turtles and largemouth bass also pose threats by increasing competition for food, while bullfrogs feed on the western pond turtles, furthering their decline.(此外,牛蛙、红耳彩龟和大口黑鲈等非本土物种也通过加剧食物竞争构成威胁,其中牛蛙还会捕食西部池龟,进一步导致其数量下降。)” 根据第四段中“In the ponds without bullfrogs, the researchers found that western pond turtles were between two and 100 times more plentiful compared to the ponds where bullfrogs remained. The team also found that only larger, older pond turtles survived in the ponds with bullfrogs. (研究人员发现,在没有牛蛙的水域中,西部池龟的数量比有牛蛙的水域多出两倍至一百倍不等。研究团队还发现,在存在牛蛙的水域中,只有体型较大、年龄较长的池龟能够存活。)”可知,对于这项研究,研究人员追踪了池龟的数量。故选B项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段““While the challenges associated with invasive species removal are significant, our study shows the potential benefit of stopping species declines and restoring freshwater ecosystems,” they concluded.(他们总结道:“尽管清除入侵物种相关的挑战十分艰巨,但我们的研究表明,这种做法在遏制物种数量下降、恢复淡水生态系统方面具有潜在益处。”)” 故选A项。 通读全文,尤其是第一段“By regaining a takeover of non-native species, native species have a chance of recovery in their natural habitats, according to a new study led by scientists from the University of California, Davis. The study, published in the journal Biological Conservation , explored how removing invasive bullfrogs (入侵牛蛙) could affect the native western pond turtles (海龟), which have experienced a major decline in their range.(根据加州大学戴维斯分校科学家领导的一项新研究,重新夺回本土物种在非本土物种中的主导地位,本土物种在其自然栖息地就有恢复的机会。该研究发表在《生物保护》杂志上,探讨了清除入侵牛蛙会对西部池龟这一在其分布范围上经历了大幅缩减的本土物种产生何种影响。)”可知,文章围绕控制入侵物种,助力本土西部池龟等回归展开,“Welcome Native Pond Turtles Back(欢迎本土池龟归来)”能体现主旨,是最合适的标题。故选C项。 D Motivational quotes. Videos of Steve Jobs saying absolutely anything. A short part of a film is showing that a baby elephant is being rescued from a river. You do not have to scroll (滚屏) for long on LinkedIn, a networking site supposedly for people at work, to find “inspirational” content. But for leaders interested in how to motivate the people around them, there is a better option-a book titled Inspire, by Adam Galinsky. At some level, advice on how to inspire staff is silly. It’s usually blindingly obvious — be good at your job, be passionate about the organization, make people and leadership teams feel valued. But believe me, you can find more insights in Galinsky’s book. For example, lots of firms use a succession of abstract words to convey their goal, such as “change”, “innovate” and “connect”. The result is less a mission than a mood. But Inspire really helps you out. Mr Galinsky cites an experiment that showed the effect of more concrete language, in which teams were asked to design toys and given a vision statement to guide their behavior. The result showed that teams who were handed a statement with more visual language — to create toys that make wide-eyed kids laugh and proud parents smile — produced more engaging toys than teams who were given something more generic (通用). The most striking idea in Mr. Galinsky’s book is that instead of bosses motivating people from above, individuals can motivate themselves. And a study conducted recently supports this claim. In the study, nearly 3,000 employees at a consumer-goods firm were randomly assigned to take part in a self-reflection exercise that helped them to think about how their current jobs matched their own sense of purpose. The researcher found that those whose jobs did not inspire them tended to leave, and that those who found that their purpose and their job were in line with the firm’s goals tended to put in more effort. Since the departure of uninspired employees and the increased effort of motivated ones collectively contributed to a more efficient workforce, this experiment is conducive to the firm’s overall performance. Managers play a huge role in motivating their people, but inspiration can be bottom-up as well as top-down. Don’t just tell your team what Steve Jobs said. Ask why their jobs matter to them. 12. What does the author think of Galinsky’s book Inspire? A. Challenging. B. Confusing. C. Humorous. D. Practical. 13. What can be inferred from the toy design experiment? A. Emotional appeal outweighs functional design. B. Toy design should center on children’s demands. C. Specific instructions produce more creative outcomes. D. Parental approval determines toy products’ success. 14. What does the underlined word “conducive” in paragraph 5 probably mean? A. Regular. B. Beneficial. C. Troublesome. D. Superior. 15. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text? A. To provide helpful insights into how to inspire employees. B To highlight the significance of inspiration in group performance. C To show the problems of existing employee motivation measures. D. To urge management to place greater emphasis on staff motivation. D 13. C 14. B 15. 根据第二段中的“But believe me, you can find more insights in Galinsky’s book. For example, lots of firms use a succession of abstract words to convey their goal, such as “change”, “innovate” and “connect”. The result is less a mission than a mood. But Inspire really helps you out. (但相信我,你能在Galinsky的书中找到更多深刻见解。例如,很多公司用一连串抽象词汇来传达目标,比如“变革”“创新”和“联结”。结果与其说是一项使命,不如说是一种氛围。但Inspire确实能帮你解决这个问题。)”可知,作者认为该书能提供切实有用的帮助,具有实用性。故选D项。 【13题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“Mr Galinsky cites an experiment that showed the effect of more concrete language, in which teams were asked to design toys and given a vision statement to guide their behavior. The result showed that teams who were handed a statement with more visual language — to create toys that make wide-eyed kids laugh and proud parents smile — produced more engaging toys than teams who were given something more generic. 根据第五段中的“Since the departure of uninspired employees and the increased effort of motivated ones collectively contributed to a more efficient workforce, this experiment is conducive to the firm’s overall performance. (由于缺乏动力的员工离职,以及有动力的员工更加努力,这些因素共同促成了更高效的员工队伍,因此这项实验对公司的整体业绩是……。)”可知,实验带来的积极变化能提升公司业绩,由此可知,划线单词“conducive”与“有益的”意义相近。故选B项。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据全文,尤其是第一段中“But for leaders interested in how to motivate the people around them, there is a better option — a book titled Inspire, by Adam Galinsky.(但对于想要了解如何激励身边人的领导者来说,还有一个更好的选择——Adam Galinsky所著的Inspire一书。)”和最后一段“Managers play a huge role in motivating their people, but inspiration can be bottom-up as well as top-down. Don’t just tell your team what Steve Jobs said. Ask why their jobs matter to them.(管理者在激励员工方面发挥着重要作用,但激励既可以是自上而下的,也可以是自下而上的。不要只告诉团队史蒂夫・乔布斯说过什么,而是要问问他们,自己的工作对他们而言有何意义。)”可知,本文主要是想通过Inspire一书提供关于如何激励员工的一些有用的见解。故选A项。 For many, the idea of being “average” is scary — to the point that there’s a word for fear of merely being ordinary and average — that’s koinophobia. ____16____ With that in mind, koinophobia specifically refers to fear of living an ordinary life, one that doesn’t stand out. What causes koinophobia? Generally, people who struggle with low self-respect might fear being average if their self-worth is tied to a certain skill. It can be a way to make up for insecurities: If I can be good and impactful enough, maybe I’ll feel good about myself. ____17____ This can lead to the feeling that everyone else is achieving more than we are, which may contribute to a rise in koinophobia. ____18____ Besides the anxiety that comes with koinophobia, those who pursue greatness without rest are at increased risk for burnout. Furthermore, people with koinophobia tend to have high standards for themselves and their accomplishments. Unavoidably, they may fail to live up to these standards, which can harm their confidence. It’s okay to be motivated by a desire to do something big, but when fear of being average can prevent you enjoying your life, it becomes a problem. So give yourself grace and allow for balance. If you have projects and goals, you can certainly work towards them.____19____ To overcome koinophobia, you can also practice self-acceptance so that you feel okay with who you are as you are now. If you find yourself feeling inadequate (不胜任的) when you see what everyone else seems to be accomplishing, take social media breaks. ____20____ Finally, choosing reasonable expectations for yourself can prevent you from over-extending yourself. A. Set some manageable goals. B. Koinophobia can be problematic. C. Instead, focus on something you enjoy. D. There is always more that you can try to accomplish. E. We’re all probably average or below average at something. F. But also do care for yourself and give yourself space to have fun. G. Moreover, many people on social media only post the great things they’re doing. E 17. G 18. B 19. F 20. 【16题详解】 根据空前的“For many, the idea of being “average” is scary — to the point that there’s a word for fear of merely being ordinary and average — that’s koinophobia. (对许多人来说,“平庸”的想法是可怕的——以至于有一个词专门用来形容对平凡和平庸的恐惧,那就是普通恐惧症。)”以及空后的“With that in mind, koinophobia specifically refers to fear of living an ordinary life, one that doesn’t stand out. (考虑到这一点,普通恐惧症特指对过平凡生活的恐惧,一种不起眼的生活。)”可知,此处应承接前文“平庸”的话题,为后文进一步解释普通恐惧症做铺垫,E选项“We’re all probably average or below average at something. (我们每个人可能在某些方面都处于平庸或低于平庸的水平。)”符合语境,既承认了“平庸”的普遍性,又自然过渡到对普通恐惧症的具体定义。故选E项。 【17题详解】 根据空前的“What causes koinophobia? Generally, people who struggle with low self-respect might fear being average if their self-worth is tied to a certain skill. It can be a way to make up for insecurities: If I can be good and impactful enough, maybe I’ll feel good about myself. (普通恐惧症的成因是什么?通常来说,自尊心较低的人如果将自我价值与某项技能绑定,就可能会害怕变得平庸。这种恐惧或许是弥补不安全感的一种方式:要是我能足够优秀、足够有影响力,或许就能自我感觉良好了。)”以及空后的“This can lead to the feeling that everyone else is achieving more than we are, which may contribute to a rise in koinophobia. (这可能会让人觉得其他人都比我们取得了更多成就,这可能会导致普通恐惧症的加剧。)”可知,此处应补充另一个导致普通恐惧症的原因,且该原因能引出“他人成就更高”的感受,G选项“Moreover, many people on social media only post the great things they’re doing. (此外,社交媒体上的很多人只发布他们所做的了不起的事情。)”符合语境,“只发布好事”会让看到的人产生“他人更优秀”的错觉,进而加剧对平庸的恐惧,衔接前文的成因分析与后文的结果。故选G项。 【18题详解】 根据空后的“Besides the anxiety that comes with koinophobia, those who pursue greatness without rest are at increased risk for burnout. Furthermore, people with koinophobia tend to have high standards for themselves and their accomplishments. Unavoidably, they may fail to live up to these standards, which can harm their confidence. (除了普通恐惧症带来的焦虑,那些不停追求卓越的人倦怠的风险也会增加。此外,有普通恐惧症的人往往对自己和自己的成就有很高的标准。不可避免地,他们可能无法达到这些标准,这会损害他们的自信心。)”可知,本段主要讲述普通恐惧症带来的问题,此处应作为本段主旨句,B选项“Koinophobia can be problematic. I’d worked here for just two weeks, but I was always under his watch. “Just me and the chef in the kitchen? I… I’m not sure,” I stammered. John said firmly, “You’ve been watching, learning, and helping with every detail — taking orders correctly, keeping tables clean and handling change. I’m sure you’re ready.” “What if there are accidents?” I asked worriedly. “I’m sure you’ve learned the techniques from the past days,” John replied. Before he rushed out of the restaurant, he added, “Just trust yourself, find ways out and remember to smile.” Taking a deep breath, I straightened my apron (围裙) and walked toward the front of the restaurant. The crowd was starting to walk in — families with kids, couples chatting over coffee, and a few diners buried in their newspapers. The chef gave me a quick nod from the kitchen. The first hour went smoothly. I took orders, refilled drinks, and helped customers make the payments. Then a challenge came. A group of eight — clearly coming for a birthday party — walked in without a reservation. Our small restaurant was already nearly full — there was only a big table and two smaller tables. I led them to the big table by the window, but a lady shook her head and said, “This won’t do. We need space for the cake!” I tried to calm myself down and think hard. Then it hit me. I quickly put two smaller tables together near the window, covering the mismatched edges with a spare tablecloth. “How’s this? Plenty of room for your celebration,” I smiled, remembering John’s last words. The lady nodded instantly. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Accidents continued to happen, but I tried my best to handle them. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just as I was handing a satisfied customer the bill, John walked in. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文 Accidents continued to happen, but I tried my best to handle them. One customer knocked over his glass, splashing water across the floor. Without panicking, I grabbed a towel, quickly mopped it up, and handed him a fresh drink with a smile. “No worries at all — accidents happen!” I said. I noticed a look of admiration in his face. Another time, the kitchen mixed up an order. I apologized sincerely, had the chef remake it immediately, and even offered a free dessert to make up for the wait. Just as I was handing a satisfied customer the bill, John walked in. He scanned the restaurant — tables full but orderly, guests chatting happily and no signs of chaos. Spotting me, he raised his eyebrows and smiled widely. Then he walked toward me, patted me on the shoulder and announced, “You’ve handled everything perfectly!” Relief washed over me, and pride quickly followed. At that time, I realized that maybe I was ready for more than I thought — I just needed to trust myself to figure things out, with a smile. 词汇激活 行为类 ①道歉:apologize/make an apology ②淹没:wash over/flood over ③意识到:realize/be aware of 情绪类 ①真诚:sincerely/heartfeltly ②高兴:happily/joyfully 【点睛】[高分句型1] One customer knocked over his glass, splashing water across the floor.(运用了现在分词作状语) [高分句型2] At that time, I realized that maybe I was ready for more than I thought — I just needed to trust myself to figure things out, with a smile.(运用了that引导宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 高三学情检测 英语试题 考生注意: 1. How much is the shirt? C By regaining a takeover of non-native species, native species have a chance of recovery in their natural habitats, according to a new study led by scientists from the University of California, Davis. From 2016 to 2022, researchers studied four sites in Yosemite National Park, two that maintained the bullfrog population and two that had the bullfrogs removed. B They tracked the number of pond turtles. Pond Turtles Experience a Big Decline D Motivational quotes. The result showed that teams who were handed a statement with more visual language — to create toys that make wide-eyed kids laugh and proud parents smile — produced more engaging toys than teams who were given something more generic (通用的). D. Superior. 15 What is the author’s purpose in writing the text? A. To provide helpful insights into how to inspire employees. B. To highlight the significance of inspiration in group performance. C. To show the problems of existing employee motivation measures. D. To urge management to place greater emphasis on staff motivation. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 For many, the idea of being “average” is scary — to the point that there’s a word for fear of merely being ordinary and average — that’s koinophobia. If you find yourself feeling inadequate (不胜任) when you see what everyone else seems to be accomplishing, take social media breaks. ____20____ Finally, choosing reasonable expectations for yourself can prevent you from over-extending yourself. A. Set some manageable goals. B Koinophobia can be problematic. C. Instead, focus on something you enjoy. D. There is always more that you can try to accomplish. E. We’re all probably average or below average at something. F. But also do care for yourself and give yourself space to have fun. G. Moreover, many people on social media only post the great things they’re doing. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 When I was a boy, the county fair would come in September every year. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
