I was nervous the night before but I had no reason to be. Everyone was so friendly and polite. They made me feel at ease. It seemed that I’d been at the school for a hundred years! The day started very early at 7:00 am. I had my breakfast downstairs with my mum. She could tell that I was very nervous. Mum kept asking me what was wrong. She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn’t love me, Mum said she would send them her way for a good talking to, I couldn’t stop laughing. My mum dropped me off at the school gate about five minutes before the bell. A little blonde girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving at me. She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home together! It went so quickly. Our teacher told us that tomorrow we would really start learning and developing new skills. I couldn’t wait until tomorrow and thought that I was really going to enjoy my time at my new school. I only hoped that my new friends would feel the same way too. 24.How did the author feel the night before her new school? A.Tired. B.Excited. C.Worried. C Eating and drinking while on buses, trams and trains should be stopped to help solve the rising rate of child overweight, according to a report by the chief medical officer for England, Sally Davies. The ban on snacking while travelling has attracted attention. Although there would be exceptions for drinking water, for breastfeeding and for anyone with a medical need to eat, it would apply to adults as well as children. There have been complaints on social media that it would make things harder for those with busy lives who need to eat and drink while travelling to work. Now no one can clearly tell the link between overweight and a habit of eating while travelling, and Davies doesn't provide much explanation, either. Her idea seems to have come out of the blue. It is fair to say that most people eating while on public transport are more likely to be devouring a chocolate bar or a packet of crisps. As Davies points out, sweet and salty snacks are thought to lead to overweight. Other studies have also shown that children respond to unhealthy food being advertised on television by eating more of it, and fail to eat less at following meals, which may lead to weight gain. Perhaps the aim of the ban is simply to reduce the opportunities we have for taking in the calories, or maybe it is to stop children seeing the adults around them enjoying these foods. We can't find out more about the evidence to support the travel snack ban, as Davies has recently stepped Adults with medical needs. 28.According to the ban raised by Sally Davies, who can eat or drink in the public transport? A.People with busy life. B.Adults with medical needs. C.People drinking coffee. D.Everyone except those eating snacks. 29.What does the underlined phrase “have come out of the blue” mean? A.Be sudden and unexpected. B.Be well planned and thought out. C.Be widely accepted and understood. D.Be based on solid evidence. 30.What can we learn from the passage? A.Unhealthy food advertising has no effect on children. B.The ban on snacking while travelling will definitely be carried out. C.Davies's report may make a difference to future health policy. D.The government is not concerned about the overweight problem. 31.What can be the best title for the text? A.How can children stop eating snacks? B.How can we solve the problem of overweight? C.Will government carry out the ban on snacking on public transport? D.Will a ban on snacking on public transport really help fight overweight? D If English means endless new words, difficult grammar and sometimes strange pronunciation, you are wrong. Haven't you noticed that you have become smarter since you started to learn a language? According to a new study by a British university, learning another language can lead to an increase in your brain power. Researchers found that learning other languages changes grey matter (大脑灰质), which is the area of the brain which deals with information. It is similar to the way that exercise builds muscles. The study also found the effects are greater, the younger people learn another language. A team led by Dr. Andrea Mechelli, took a group of Britons who only spoke English. They were compared with a group of “early bilinguals” who had learnt a second language before the age of five, as well as a number of later learners. Scans showed that grey matter density (密度) in the brain was greater in bilinguals than in people without a second language. But the longer a person waited before mastering a new language, the smaller the difference. “Our findings suggest that the structure of the brain is changed by the experience of learning a second language.” said the scientists. It means that the change itself increases the ability to learn. Professor Dylan Vaughan Jones of the University of Wales has researched the link between bilingualism and math skills. “Having two languages gives you two windows on the world and makes the brain more flexible” he said, “You are actually going beyond language and have a better understanding of different ideas.” The findings were matched in a study of native Italian speakers who had learned English as a second language between the ages of 2 and 34. Reading, writing and comprehension were all tested. The results showed that the younger they started to learn, the better. “Studying a language means you get an entrance to another world.” explained the scientists. 32.Why does the writer mention “exercise” and “muscles” in paragraph 2? A.To prove that learning a language is beneficial to your brain. B.To suggest that language learning involves physical exercise. C.To explain that language learning is similar to muscle building. D.To show that language learning is a process of building grey matter. 33.What can be learnt from the scientific findings? A.The ability to learn a second language is changing all the time. B.The earlier you start to learn a second language, the higher the grey matter density is. C.The experience of learning a second language has an unknown effect on people’s brain. D.A later second language learner and one knowing no second language have no difference. 34.What does the author try to tell us in the last two paragraphs? A.Italian is the best choice for you as a second language. B.Learning a second language is the same as studying maths. C.It’s better to learn a second language between the ages of 2 and 34. D.Early learning of a second language helps in studying other subjects. 35.What is the passage mainly about? A.How to learn a second language. B.How language learning helps brainpower. C.People’s ability to learn a second language. D.The relationship between language learning and math study. How to Cope With Stress at School No matter if you’re in junior school or senior school, it’s natural to experience school-related stress. 36 Here are several strategies that will set you on the right track. Get to know your stress response. You can react to stress faster when you know it’s coming on. 37 Your shoulders might tighten, your jaws might clench, your palms might get sweaty, your stomach might feel knotted up, your body might start shaking, and so on. Listen to your body so you know when stress is coming on. In that way, you can better identify (识别) what’s causing your stress and more effectively manage your stress. Identify what fuels your school stress. It’s hard to manage stress when you don’t know what’s causing it. It’s not enough to say that “school” is causing you stress—dig a little deeper! Is it too much homework, worries about grades, lack of sleep, lack of free time, peer pressure, bullying, some combination of these, or something else entirely? 38 Make a schoolwork schedule. 39 Instead, plan out your time to help prevent your work from piling up. Stick to a daily schedule to keep things manageable so you’re never left with a tower of work to conquer by tomorrow. This way, you can not only reduce stress but also enhance your productivity and efficiency. Divide your work into manageable pieces. Set aside blocks of time for each thing you need to do. If you have a 10-minute presentation on Romeo and Juliet due next week, for example, you might feel like it’s an impossible task. 40 Spend one day making an outline, for instance, then another making your poster. Keep reminding yourself that it’s not one giant project — it’s a bunch of little, manageable ones. A.Each person responds to stressful situations differently. B.When you feel the stress building up inside you, take a break C.But school stress is also something you can successfully manage. D.Never feel ashamed to talk about your school stress, and you can successfully manage it! E.It’s really not an easy job to stay calm when you have piles of homework staring back at you! F.Instead of stressing over the entire thing, break it up into smaller tasks you can knock out one at a time. G.Once you’ve identified the source (s), you can come up with targeted stress-management solutions. Living with my roommate Lily, was an eye-opening experience for me. I loved to play in the snow and enjoyed the hot chocolate. Unfortunately, winter never gave me the special gift of snow on my birthday. The snow disappeared before my birthday and started after it. The seed of receiving that special gift was deeply planted in my heart. As I lived with my grandparents in my girlhood, I would always ask my grandmother why it didn’t snow on my birthday. She would laugh and tell me I asked too many questions, and my grandfather would always smile at me affectionately, sitting beside the stove. But one day, my grandmother promised that she would make it snow when I was enjoying life to the fullest. I thanked her and asked for snow on my next birthday, but my mind was occupied with confusion. “How can you make it snow?” My grandmother didn’t reply but shot me a determined look. It seemed that she had already hatched (策划) a plot. But that year, before my birthday, my grandmother passed away. I was at an emotional loss, but angry because she had promised me to make it snow. The day of my sixth birthday, I woke up and ran to my window, hoping to see just one snowflake. Unfortunately, there was no snow. I cried and cried all day because my grandmother had let me down, but my grandfather said with certainty that my grandmother would keep her word. Before my birthday every year, I would pray but it never came. By my sixteenth birthday, I had lost all hope of getting my snow, even though I still wished for it. During my party, I had the best time ever! I enjoyed the company of my friends and family, and I was truly happy. I was outside with a friend when she asked me if I was having a good time. I told her I was enjoying my life to the fullest. Then I saw the white snow falling all around. I became like a little child on Christmas morning as I ran around screaming and laughing. I was so excited that my friend looked at me as if I were crazy, and laughed at me. She asked me if I had ever seen snow before, and I laughed and said that I had, but that this snow was very special to me. Paragraph 1: Curious about my reply, my friend asked, “Why was this snow so special?” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: Hearing my friend’s advice, I decided to head for my grandfather’s home. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共12页) 试题 第4页(共12页) 试题 第5页(共12页) 试题 第6页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2025-2026学年高一英语必修第一册Welcome Unit单元测试 (浙江专用) Welcome Unit·培优卷 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.What does the man dislike? I know you are from all walks of life, and for most of you, this is your first time painting, or even your first time doing anything artistic. Don’t worry, this course is designed to teach you the basics of drawing. In the first two weeks, you will get familiar with some very important drawing techniques, as well as understand how to use the equipment. On week three, I will start giving you weekly homework, so you can improve outside of these classes. It’s entirely your choice to complete the homework or not. It is not a course requirement, but obviously, it will really help you progress. After week eight, you have to submit a final piece of work. This artwork will require a lot of experimentation. After the twelfth week, we will hold an exhibition at a local gallery, which both you and your family are welcome to attend. A Our healthcare professionals can only provide care for students who are physically in Ontario. I started my new school this morning and had the best time. I made lots of new friends and really liked my teachers. A.Tired. B.Excited. C.Worried. C.She got on well with the author. D.She was an old friend of the author. 根据第一段中“I was nervous the night before but I had no reason to be. (前一天晚上我很紧张,但我没有理由这么紧张。)”可知,作者在新学校的前一晚感到非常紧张、焦虑。故选C项。 25.推理判断题。根据第二段中“She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn’t love me, Mum said she would send them her way for a good talking to, I couldn’t stop laughing. (她告诉我没什么好担心的,每个人都会喜欢我的。妈妈说,如果他们不喜欢我,就找他们好好谈谈。我听了笑个不停。)”可知,作者的妈妈要找不喜欢作者的人谈谈,这让作者笑个不停,由此可知,作者觉得她妈妈的说法很好笑。故选B项。 26.细节理解题。根据第三段中“A little blonde girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving at me. She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home together! She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. (她跑过来告诉我她的名字是Abigail。她非常友好,我们很快就变得亲密无间。我们整个上午都在一起,还开始和另一个叫Stacey的女孩交谈。)”可知,Abigail和作者相处得很好,因为她们很快就成为了朋友,并且整天在一起。故选C项。 C Eating and drinking while on buses, trams and trains should be stopped to help solve the rising rate of child overweight, according to a report by the chief medical officer for England, Sally Davies. 根据文章第二段“Although there would be exceptions for drinking water, for breastfeeding and for anyone with a medical need to eat, it would apply to adults as well as children.(虽然会有饮用水、母乳喂养和有医疗需要的人可以不被禁止,但这项禁令适用于成年人和儿童)”可知,成年人如果有医疗需要可以在公共交通上进食。故选B。 29. 根据划线词上文“Now no one can clearly tell the link between overweight and a habit of eating while travelling, and Davies doesn’t provide much explanation, either. Her idea seems to have come out of the blue.(现在没有人能清楚地说明超重和在旅途中进食习惯之间的联系,戴维斯也没有提供太多解释。她的想法似乎have come out of the blue)”可知,维斯也没有提供太多解释。 可推测出划线短语“have come out of the blue”意为“突然和意想不到的”。故选A。 30. 根据第一段“Eating and drinking while on buses, trams and trains should be stopped to help solve the rising rate of child overweight, according to a report by the chief medical officer for England, Sally Davies.(英国首席医疗官萨莉·戴维斯在一份报告中指出,为了帮助解决儿童超重率不断上升的问题,应该停止在公共汽车、电车和火车上吃东西和喝水)”可知,本文说明了一个新的建议——禁止在公共交通工具上吃东西,以帮助解决儿童超重问题,对其有效性提出疑问。 D。 D If English means endless new words, difficult grammar and sometimes strange pronunciation, you are wrong. 根据第二段的句子“Researchers found that learning other languages changes grey matter (大脑灰质), which is the area of the brain which deals with information. It is similar to the way that exercise builds muscles. (研究人员发现,学习其他语言会改变大脑中处理信息的灰质。这与锻炼肌肉的方式类似。)”可知,学习其他语言会改变大脑中处理信息的灰质。作者把这种影响比作锻炼与肌肉的关系,是因为锻炼会增加肌肉,是肌肉增加的过程,也说明学习其他语言是大脑灰质增加的过程。故选D项。 33.细节理解题。根据第四段的句子“Scans showed that grey matter density (密度) in the brain was greater in bilinguals than in people without a second language. But the longer a person waited before mastering a new language, the smaller the difference.(扫描显示,双语者大脑中的灰质密度比不懂第二语言的人要高。但是,一个人在掌握一门新语言之前等待的时间越长,差异就越小。)”可知,一个人越早开始学习第二语言,他的大脑灰质密度就越高。故选B项。 34.推理判断题。根据第六段的句子“Professor Dylan Vaughan Jones of the University of Wales has researched the link between bilingualism and math skills. “Having two languages gives you two windows on the world and makes the brain more flexible” he said, “You are actually going beyond language and have a better understanding of different ideas.”(威尔士大学的迪伦·沃恩·琼斯教授研究了双语能力和数学技能之间的联系。他说:“掌握两种语言给了你观察世界的两扇窗户,让你的大脑更加灵活。你实际上超越了语言,对不同的想法有了更好的理解。”)”可知,双语能力和数学技能之间有联系。根据第七段的句子“The findings were matched in a study of native Italian speakers who had learned English as a second language between the ages of 2 and 34. Reading, writing and comprehension were all tested. The results showed that the younger they started to learn, the better.(这一发现与一项针对以意大利语为母语、在2岁至34岁之间将英语作为第二语言学习的人的研究相吻合。阅读、写作和理解都接受了测试。结果显示,越早开始学习,效果越好。)”可知,第二语言的学习对阅读、写作和理解力都有影响。所以作者在最后两段想告诉我们早期学习第二语言有助于学习其他科目。故选D项。 35.主旨大意题。根据第二段的句子“According to a new study by a British university, learning another language can lead to an increase in your brain power.(根据英国一所大学的一项新研究,学习另一门语言可以提高你的智力。)” How to Cope With Stress at School No matter if you’re in junior school or senior school, it’s natural to experience school-related stress. 36.前文“No matter if you’re in junior school or senior school, it’s natural to experience school-related stress.(无论你是在初中还是高中,经历与学校有关的压力是很自然的)”提到在学校经历压力是很自然的事,后文“Here are several strategies that will set you on the right track.(这里有几个策略可以让你走上正确的道路)”引出下文策略,C选项“但学校压力也是你可以成功应对的事情”起到了承上启下的过渡作用,既承接了前面提到的有压力这一情况,又引出后文应对压力的策略,符合此处逻辑。故选C。 37.后文“Your shoulders might tighten, your jaws might clench, your palms might get sweaty, your stomach might feel knotted up, your body might start shaking, and so on.(你的肩膀可能会绷紧,你的下巴可能会握紧,你的手掌可能会出汗,你的胃可能会感觉打结,你的身体可能会开始颤抖,等等)”具体列举了不同的身体反应,A选项“每个人对有压力的情况反应不同”能够引出后文关于不同身体反应的描述,说明不同人面对压力时身体呈现出不同状态,符合语境。故选A。 38.前文“It’s not enough to say that “school” is causing you stress — dig a little deeper! Is it too much homework, worries about grades, lack of sleep, lack of free time, peer pressure, bullying, some combination of these, or something else entirely? (仅仅说“学校”给你带来了压力是不够的——再深入一点吧!是作业太多、担心成绩、睡眠不足、缺乏空闲时间、同辈压力、欺凌、这些因素的结合,还是其他完全不同的原因)”提到要深入挖掘是什么导致了学校压力,G选项“一旦你确定了(压力的)来源,你就能想出有针对性的压力管理解决方案”与前文先确定压力来源相呼应,说明确定来源后就能据此制定应对方案,逻辑连贯。故选G。 39.“Make a schoolwork schedule.” Living with my roommate Lily, was an eye-opening experience for me. She was 41 organized, while I was not. Each of her things had its place, but mine were always 42 somewhere. She even labeled everything. I always 43 for everything. Over time, Lily got neater and I got 44 . She would push my dirty clothing over, and I would lay my books on her 45 desk. We both got tired of each other, and there were more and more 46 between us.War broke out one evening. Lily came into the room. Soon, I heard her screaming. “Take your shoes away! Why under my bed!” I saw my shoes flying at me. I jumped to my feet and started 47 . She shouted back louder. The room was filled with anger. We couldn’t stay together for a single minute 48 a phone call came. Lily answered it. From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up, she quickly crawled under her cover (被子), sobbing. Obviously, that was something she should not go through 49 . All of a sudden, a warm feeling of sympathy rose up in my heart. Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bed, cleaned the socks and swept the floor, even on her side. I got so lost in my work that I even didn’t notice Lily had 50 . She was watching, her tears dried and her expression a kind of disbelief. Then, she reached out her hands to grasp mine. I looked up into her eyes. She smiled at me, “Thanks.” From that moment on, we began to 51 each other’s habits and differences. Lily and I stayed roommates for the rest of the college years. Ever since I was little, my favorite season was winter. Paragraph 1: Curious about my reply, my friend asked, “Why was this snow so special?” _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: Hearing my friend’s advice, I decided to head for my grandfather’s home. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Paragraph 1: Curious about my reply, my friend asked, “Why was this snow so special?” I was still bathed in the ecstasy of seeing the snow, without even hearing my friend’s question, just exclaiming out aloud,  “Snow! I see it!” It was when my friend tapped on my shoulder that I realized I lost control of myself and was immersed in this blissful world. I explained with my choking words to my friend that my grandmother who had died several years ago kept her word to make it snow when I lived my life to the fullest. Seeing that snow was like seeing my grandmother and her long-awaited gift. At that moment, a surge of nostalgia rushed into my mind and I couldn’t help bursting into tears. My friend, standing beside me, comforted me in her reassuring voice and suggested me going back home to share the delight with my grandfather. Paragraph 2: Hearing my friend’s advice, I decided to head for my grandfather’s home. When I opened the door, what greeted me was my grandfather’s affectionate smile as usual, which deeply tugged at my soft heartstrings. Without thinking twice, I instantly threw my arms around him, poured out my sentiment of missing for my grandmother and shared the pleasure of seeing the snow. My grandfather stroked my head fondly and then withdrew an elaborately-packed gift from the drawer. Inside, nestled in white paper, was a crystal snowflake with a card that read, “Happy Birthday!” Confused, I asked my grandfather how this could be. He explained that it was my grandmother’s final wish to give it to me when I lived my life to the fullest. At that moment, surrounded by the warmth of family and the magic of the falling snow, I realized that while my grandmother may no longer be with us physically, her love and legacy lived on in our hearts, forever etched in the delicate dance of snowflakes. 词汇激活 行为类 ①轻拍:tap/pat ②意识到:realize/perceive ③解释:explain/elucidate 情绪类 ①狂喜:ecstasy/triumph ②眼泪夺眶而出:burst into tears/tears burst out 【点睛】【高分句型1】I explained with my choking words to my friend that my grandmother who had died several years ago kept her word to make it snow when I lived my life to the fullest.( 运用了that引导的宾语从句、who引导的定语从句、when引导的时间状语从句) 【高分句型2】Seeing that snow was like seeing my grandmother and her long-awaited gift. She smiled at me, “Thanks.” From that moment on, we began to 51 each other’s habits and differences. Lily and I stayed roommates for the rest of the college years. We didn’t always 52 each other, but we learned the key to living together peacefully: respecting our differences, tidying up our own spaces and cultivating a sense of shared 53 for living environment. Our relationship also taught us the importance of 54 and forgiveness. Paragraph 1: Curious about my reply, my friend asked, “Why was this snow so special?” _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Paragraph 2: Hearing my friend’s advice, I decided to head for my grandfather’s home. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 4 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$听力考试正式开始。What a long day.
