B As a nature photographer, I have to brave the elements. But despite the wind and the rain, I still enjoy working outside in the wild. One of the best things about this job is that you can observe animals in their natural environment. My favourite place to take photos is Yellowstone National Park. As the world’s first national park, Yellowstone is famous for the variety of its wildlife, but it is probably best known for its bears. These huge, strong animals can live for 30 years. Despite a weight of up to 300 kilograms, they can run at a speed of around 64 kilometres per hour and are also excellent swimmers. Last spring in Yellowstone, I followed a path that took me through a dark forest. When I finally stepped out of the trees, the view was breathtaking. An eagle flew over the snow-capped mountains, which were reflected in the still lake below. While I was concentrating on photographing this amazing scene, I suddenly had a feeling that I was being watched. Slowly, and with the camera still held to my eye, I turned... and froze. Only meters away from me was a bear. With water falling off its thick, brown hair, the bear stared back at me. Time stood still as the bear and I both waited to see who would move first. My legs started shaking. Somehow, I forced my finger to press the button. A second later, the bear turned and ran back into the forest. When I recovered from the shock, I looked at my camera. My most frightening but magical experience was now captured forever in a single image. From time to time I look at the photo as a reminder to show respect to all animals. It is after all we who are the visitors to their world. 24.What do we know about Yellowstone National Park? A.It is where the author most likes to go. B.It is famous for all kinds of trees. C.It has wet bears and eagle everywhere. D.It is a dark forest with a long path. 25.How do we know about the author’s getting the photo of the bear? A.The author designed the scene ahead(提前). B.The bear did the action for him. C.The bear stood still before him. D.The author got it quite by accident. 26.Which word can best describe the author’s feeling when the bear stared back at him? A.Scared. B.Excited. C.Thankful. D.Respectful. 27.What is the passage mainly about? A.Working outside in the wild B.Photos taken in Yellowstone National Park C.An unforgettable experience in the wild D.A photo taken with a brown bear C The pleasure people get from a piece of music has been linked to its effects on our emotional responses and ability to form social connections. The degree of enjoyment differs from person to person, but little is known about why. To see if genetics (遗传学) can account for it, Giacomo Bignardi at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in the Netherlands and his colleagues conducted a new study. The researchers looked at more than 9,000 twins from the Swedish Twin Registry. About 3,400 were identical (同卵的) and 5,600 non-identical. The former share the same genome (基因组), while non-identical twins share only half their genomes, which enabled the researchers to determine the effects of genes through comparison. Besides, all the twins in the study were raised in the same households and so grew up with similar environmental influences. This made it easier to sort out genetic contributions. The researchers got the twins to complete the Barcelona Music Reward Questionnaire, which focused on how much pleasure they get from music. For example, they were asked the extent to which they agreed with statements such as “when I share music with someone I feel a special connection with that person” and “in my free time I hardly listen to music”. The result showed that genes seem to play a significant role in influencing how much pleasure music brings, with the identical twins being more than twice as similar in this feature as the non-identical ones. “While it’s fairly understandable that musical ability might have a genetic basis, which provides an easy explanation for why some people seem to have a talent for music, it’s obscure that the degree of pleasure from listening to music is influenced by genes, so it is inspiring that the study finds this effect,” says Peter Harrison at the University of Cambridge. However, Nick Collins at Durham University, UK thinks differently. “Certain musical abilities and preferences may be influenced by genetics, but there are a large number of cultural elements in music development that are not addressed by genetics alone,” he says. 28.What can we learn from paragraph 2? A.How twins contribute to the progress of genetic research. B.Why the researchers chose the twins as research subjects. C.What makes the new study different from previous ones. D.What inspired the researchers to conduct the new study. 29.What is the finding of the new study? A.The secret of musical talent lies in our genes. B.Our genes determine what kind of music we like. C.Our genes can influence how much we enjoy music. D.The pleasure that different people get from music varies greatly. 30.Which can best replace the underlined word “obscure” in paragraph 4? A.easy to conclude. B.reasonable to assume. C.impossible to prove. D.difficult to see. 31.What is Nick Collins’ attitude towards the research finding? A.Unclear. B.Doubtful. C.Supportive. D.Unconcerned. D As cities continue to grow, the need for efficient and sustainable food production has never been greater. UrbanSprout, an innovative company, has introduced Rooftop Green, a garden system that transforms urban rooftops into lively green spaces providing fresh produce directly to city residents. Rooftop Green is designed to be adaptable, serving small households as well as large commercial buildings. By developing otherwise unused rooftop space, it provides a practical solution to the problem of urban food deserts. The system is remarkably easy to maintain and promises a constant supply of organic vegetables and herbs. The technology behind Rooftop Green includes smart sensors and an automatic watering system. The latter improves plant growth with minimal water use. Connected to a mobile app, the sensors give users insights into plant health, growth stages, and proper harvest times. The app ensures that even green-hand gardeners can successfully plant their crops with confidence. By creating green oases (绿洲) in urban areas, Rooftop Green not only cuts the carbon footprint associated with food transport but also enhances urban biodiversity. Furthermore, it reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers, making it an environmentally friendly option for responsible citizens. UrbanSprout employees integrate the company’s eco-friendly values in their daily routines. They actively participate in community gardening and conservation projects, promoting sustainability within and beyond the workplace. “Our goal is to develop a culture that values green living,” explained an UrbanSprout representative. Rooftop Green is more than an agricultural innovation. It is part of a broader movement towards sustainable urban living. For those looking to make a positive environmental impact, it offers an accessible and impactful way to engage with sustainability. 32.What is the main purpose of Rooftop Green? A.To generate profits through commercial farming. B.To provide fresh produce by rooftop gardening. C.To conduct scientific research on plant growth. D.To provide decorations for urban buildings. 33.What’s the function of smart sensors? A.Decreasing the need for watering. B.Speeding up the growth of plants. C.Observing the gardening process. D.Building confidence of beginners. 34.What does Rooftop Green advocate? A.The change of workplace culture. B.A green and long-lasting city life. C.The total reliance on technologies. D.A trend towards independent living. 35.What’s the best title of the text? A.The Role of Technology in Urban Gardening B.Enhancing Urban Biodiversity with Sensors C.Rooftop Solutions for Urban Food Deserts D.Innovations in Agricultural Technology In today’s world, complaints are becoming more common. 36 So, if you often find yourself complaining, it's important to break this habit for everyone's well-being. Here are some tips to help you stop complaining. Focus on Observing, Not Judging Complaining often comes from a judgmental mindset, where we see the world based on our own biases(偏见) and expectations. To reduce your complaining, shift your focus from judging to observing. Instead of being a judgmental commentator on life's events, try to avoid taking sides. 37 Address the Root Cause If you frequently complain, it might be worth exploring why you’re so easily dissatisfied. 38 By addressing the basic problem of your dissatisfaction, you might find that things like the weather or politics aren’t worth complaining about. Accept Stoicism(坚韧) Many people mistake stoicism for simply weathering the storm with a brave face. But true stoicism includes managing feelings through reason. Before complaining, ask yourself if you can change the situation. 39 If you can, take action instead of wasting time complaining. Avoid Negative Influences 30 Try to manage your personal life and control your media time to avoid negative influences. Remember, some people make a living by feeding on your sufferings. To further strengthen your resolve (决心), make a commitment to stop complaining and ask friends and family to remind you of this goal when they notice you complaining. A.If not, complaining won’t help. B.Improve your problem-solving skills C.If it’s hard, just wait for others to solve it. D.Surrounding yourself with negatives can encourage complaining. E.But habitually complaining can harm both yourself and those around you. F.Often, bigger problems are causing you to be impatient with smaller things. G.This means admitting and accepting situations without immediately passing judgement. That year I was an eight-year-old girl. Our parents praised our school’s modem music room with its grand piano and sound system. My mother said it was better than many concert halls. But to me, the piano looked like a sleeping dragon, causing my extreme nervousness and fright. Being painfully shy, I always chose group activities like choir practice. When Mr. Reed taught solo singing every Friday — a compulsory part of our music course — I’d stand behind the tallest classmate, humming softly to avoid attention. Now, it was the final Friday — exam day. My fingers turned icy when Mr. Reed announced: “Today, everyone must sing alone for your final grade. Those who fail will retake the exam after school next month.” As classmates took turns at the front, my knees knocked together. Each sang steadily into the microphone, voices clear under the bright ceiling lights. Soon I’d have to do what terrified me most — singing solo before thirty classmates. Suddenly I recalled a TV singer’s interview: Watch and learn. So I observed carefully — how they adjusted the microphone height, stood with feet apart, took a deep belly breath, and focused on the back wall while singing. After eight performances, hope flickered in me. Those four steps seemed manageable. When Mr. Reed called my name, my shoes squeaked (嘎吱作响) on the wooden floor. Every face turned toward me. My neck burned hot. Holding the microphone tightly, I tried the steps: Adjust, Stand, Breathe and Focus. But my voice came out thin and shaky. Even worse, I completely forgot the lyrics at the chorus (副歌). A wave of whispers swept the room as I went back to my seat. Burying my face behind the piano lid, I was surprised when its polished surface reflected Mr. Reed approaching. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three weeks later, holding the same microphone with sweat, I noticed raindrops tracing paths on the window. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共8页) 试题 第4页(共8页) 试题 第1页(共8页) 试题 第2页(共8页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2025-2026学年高二选择性必修第一册英语单元测试 Unit1·基础卷 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.What is the man looking for? A.Working outside in the wild B.Photos taken in Yellowstone National Park C.An unforgettable experience in the wild D.A photo taken with a brown bear 【答案】24.A 25.D 26.A 27.C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。 根据文章第二段“My favourite place to take photos is Yellowstone National Park.(我最喜欢拍摄照片的地方是黄石国家公园。)” 故选A。 25. 根据文章第三段“While I was concentrating on photographing this amazing scene, I suddenly had a feeling that I was being watched. 故选A。 27. C。 C The pleasure people get from a piece of music has been linked to its effects on our emotional responses and ability to form social connections. 根据第二段“The researchers looked at more than 9,000 twins from the Swedish Twin Registry. This made it easier to sort out genetic contributions.(研究人员观察了瑞典双胞胎登记处的9000多名双胞胎。 根据第三段“The result showed that genes seem to play a significant role in influencing how much pleasure music brings, with the identical twins being more than twice as similar in this feature as the non-identical ones.(结果表明,基因似乎在影响音乐带来的快乐程度方面发挥着重要作用,同卵双胞胎在这一特征上的相似性是非同卵双胞胎的两倍多。)” 根据划线词上文“While it’s fairly understandable that musical ability might have a genetic basis, which provides an easy explanation for why some people seem to have a talent for music.(虽然音乐能力可能有遗传基础是相当容易理解的,这为为什么有些人似乎有音乐天赋提供了一个简单的解释。)可知,“obscure”所在的部分与上文是转折关系,上文说音乐能力有遗传基础是容易理解的,那么可推测出“obscure”的意思应该是“不容易看出”或“难以察觉”。故选D。 31.推理判断题。根据最后一段“Certain musical abilities and preferences may be influenced by genetics, but there are a large number of cultural elements in music development that are not addressed by genetics alone.(某些音乐能力和偏好可能受到遗传学的影响,但在音乐发展中存在大量文化元素,这些元素并非仅由遗传学所能解释。)” The former share the same genome (基因组), while non-identical twins share only half their genomes, which enabled the researchers to determine the effects of genes through comparison. 句意:前者拥有相同的基因组,而异卵双胞胎只共享一半的基因组,这使研究人员能够通过比较来确定基因的影响。 分析:这是一个主从复合句。The former share the same genome和non - identical twins share only half their genomes是并列的主句,由while连接,表示对比;which enabled the researchers to determine the effects of genes through comparison是一个非限定性定语从句,修饰前面整个主句内容,which在从句中作主语。 While it’s fairly understandable that musical ability might have a genetic basis, which provides an easy explanation for why some people seem to have a talent for music, it’s obscure that the degree of pleasure from listening to music is influenced by genes, so it is inspiring that the study finds this effect. 句意:虽然音乐能力可能有基因基础这一点相当容易理解,这也很容易解释为什么有些人似乎在音乐方面有天赋,但听音乐带来的愉悦程度会受基因影响这一点却不那么明晰,所以这项研究发现了这种影响是很有启发性的。 分析:这是一个复杂的主从复合句。While it’s fairly understandable that musical ability might have a genetic basis是让步状语从句,其中it是形式主语,真正的主语是that musical ability might have a genetic basis;which provides an easy explanation for why some people seem to have a talent for music是一个非限定性定语从句,修饰前面的that musical ability might have a genetic basis;it’s obscure that the degree of pleasure from listening to music is influenced by genes是主句,it是形式主语,真正的主语是that the degree of pleasure from listening to music is influenced by genes;so it is inspiring that the study finds this effect是结果状语从句,it是形式主语,真正的主语是that the study finds this effect。 D As cities continue to grow, the need for efficient and sustainable food production has never been greater. UrbanSprout, an innovative company, has introduced Rooftop Green, a garden system that transforms urban rooftops into lively green spaces providing fresh produce directly to city residents. 【答案】36.E 37.G 38.F 39.A 40.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍了抱怨在现代社会中越来越普遍的现象,并提供了几种方法来帮助人们减少抱怨。 36.根据上文“In today’s world, complaints are becoming more common.(在当今世界,抱怨变得越来越普遍)”以及根据下文“So, if you often find yourself complaining, it’s important to break this habit for everyone’s well-being.(因此,如果你经常发现自己抱怨,为了每个人的幸福,打破这个习惯很重要)”可知,选项承上启下说明抱怨的负面影响。E选项“但习惯性抱怨会伤害你自己和你周围的人”切题。故选E项。 37.根据上文“To reduce your complaining, shift your focus from judging to observing. Our group thinks that using translation software to assist English learning has both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it can help us quickly understand the meaning of words and sentences, which is very convenient. On the other hand, if we rely too much on it, we may not be able to improve our English ability independently. In addition, sometimes the translation results of the software may not be accurate enough, which may lead to misunderstandings. Therefore, we should use it properly and not rely on it too much. Thank you for listening! 【导语】本篇书面表达属于应用文。要求考生代表小组就是否使用翻译软件辅助英语学习发表观点并陈述理由。 【详解】1. 词汇积累 快速地:quickly → rapidly/promptly 依赖:rely on → depend on 准确的:accurate → precise 误解:misunderstanding → misinterpretation 2. 句式拓展 简单句变复合句 原句:Therefore, we should use it properly and not rely on it too much. 拓展句:Therefore, it is recommended that we should use it properly and not rely on it too much. 【点睛】[高分句型1] Our group thinks that using translation software to assist English learning has both advantages and disadvantages. (运用了连词that引导宾语从句) [高分句型2] On the other hand, if we rely too much on it, we may not be able to improve our English ability independently. (运用了if引导的条件状语从句) [高分句型3] In addition, sometimes the translation results of the software may not be accurate enough, which may lead to misunderstandings. (运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 阅读下面材料:根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 The Fearful Music Exam The frightening day of our required music exam arrived. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Burying my face behind the piano lid, I was surprised when its polished surface reflected Mr. Reed approaching. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three weeks later, holding the same microphone with sweat, I noticed raindrops tracing paths on the window. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Burying my face behind the piano lid, I was surprised when its polished surface reflected Mr. Reed approaching. His shadow fell across my trembling hands. He said softly, “I once forgot every note at my first concert.” He placed a sheet of lyrics before me. “Meet me after school Mondays? We’ll practice step by step.” His kindness warmed my frozen heart. That afternoon, we started with belly breathing. “Feel your feet root to the ground,” he guided. Though my voice still quivered, the piano lid no longer hid my tears of hope. Three weeks later, holding the same microphone with sweat, I noticed raindrops tracing paths on the window. Adjust, stand, breathe and focus. I mouthed the steps. As the piano intro began, my feet planted firmly. This time, my voice was clear and steady. I felt the music flow through me, and I knew I had improved. When the last note faded, silence hung for a breath — then applause erupted like summer rain. Mr. Reed nodded and smiled, eyes crinkling. I had conquered my fear, and I knew I could face any challenge ahead. 词汇激活 行为类 ①放置:placed/put/lay ②练习:practice/train/exercise ③指导:guide/instruct 情绪类 ①颤抖的手:trembling hands/shaking hands ②善意:kindness/goodwill/benevolence 【点睛】【高分句型1】Though my voice still quivered, the piano lid no longer hid my tears of hope. A.The Role of Technology in Urban Gardening B.Enhancing Urban Biodiversity with Sensors C.Rooftop Solutions for Urban Food Deserts D.Innovations in Agricultural Technology 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 In today’s world, complaints are becoming more common. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题:每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 That year I was an eight-year-old girl. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 1 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
