Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in

2. Lead-in: Show the "No Smoking" sign. Ask: "Look at this sign. Do you know what it means?" (Guide students to guess "no smoking.") Then say: "Today we’ll learn Lesson 4: Don’t Smoke, Please. Because smoking is bad for us."
Step 2: Presentation
1. Teach key words:
- Smoke: Say: "This is smoke. Smoking is when people light a cigarette and breathe out smoke." (Repeat "smoke" 3 times; ask students to shake their heads to show "bad.")
- Bad/healthy: Point to the smoking picture. Say: "Smoking is bad. Bad means not good." (Repeat "bad.") Point to the happy family picture. Say: "This family is healthy. Healthy means good for the body." (Review "healthy" from last class.)
- Air: Wave the fan gently. Say: "This is air. We breathe air. Smoking makes bad air." (Repeat "air" and let students pretend to breathe.)
2. Teach core sentences:
- Hold the smoking picture. Say: "Smoking is bad for us." (Repeat 2 times; break down "bad for us" – "bad" + "for us" – for students to follow.)
- Show the "No Smoking" sign. Say: "Don’t smoke, please."
don’t开头的祈使句是否定句,表示“不要……”
这种句式的结构是:Don’t+动词原形。
例如:Don’t be careless.
Don’t be late again.
Don’t let them play with fire.

- Show pictures on PowerPoint: no smoking sign (good), smoking in a park (bad), clean air (good), bad air (bad).
- Ask students: "Is it good or bad?" If good, they stand up; if bad, they sit down. After each picture, say the sentence: "No smoking is good. Smoking is bad."
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
1. Show PowerPoint: "Two Parks" (slide 1: clean park, kids playing; slide 2: park with smoke, kids coughing).
2. Ask students to compare: "Which park is good? (The clean one.) Why? (No smoke, good air.)"
