Lesson 3 Good Food, Good Health
一. Teaching Objectives

四. Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in
1. Greet and review: "Good morning! Last class, we learned ‘I have a toothache.’ How do you take care of your teeth?" (Ask 2 students to answer.)
2. Lead-in: Hold up an apple and a bag of chips. Ask: "Look! What’s this? Do you think it’s good for us?" (Let students guess, then say: "Today we’ll talk about good food and good health. Our lesson is Lesson 3: Good Food, Good Health.")
Step 2: Presentation
1. Teach key words:
- Fruit/vegetable: Show the apple (say "fruit") and carrot (say "vegetable"). Repeat 3 times. Let students touch the apple/carrot and say the words.
- Grain/corn/bean:
Bread,noodles and rice are all grain.
Many foods like beans have a lot of protein.
Do you know corn is the best food for Vitamin B1?
2. Teach core sentences:
- Hold the apple. Say: "This is fruit. Fruit is healthy. A well-balanced diet includes foods from each food group." (Repeat 2 times.)
- Point to calcium. Say: "Calcium makes your bones and teeth strong.Milk ,cheese and yogurt contain calcium. " (Let students repeat together.)
Step 3: Practice
1. Group work: "Food Sort Game"
- Divide students into 4 small groups. Choose the food words from the lesson and put them in the correct food group.

Ask them to stick the picture cards on the right poster. Walk around to help.
2. Pair work: "Talk About Your Likes"
- Ask students to work with a partner. Give a model dialogue:
- Student 1: We should.......
- Student 2: We are suppose to....
- Student 1: We shouldn`t.......
- Student 2: We aren`t suppose to....
- Let pairs practice. Invite 2 pairs to show their dialogue to the class.
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
1. Show PowerPoint: "Danny’s Healthy Meal"
slide 1: rice + meat + vegetables
slide 2: Danny smiles and says "Good food, good health!
2. Extension: Ask: "What is a healthy and balanced diet?"
Step 5: Summary & Homework
1. Summary:
- Review words and sentences
2. Homework:
- Tell your parents 2 healthy foods you like
- Draw a healthy and balanced diet and write 1 sentence under it
