The Amazon Rainforest is a large jungle in Brazil. Thick trees and plants cover the land. (1) It is also a place where many animals live and bring up their babies.
(2) One such animal is the jaguar. Jaguars are powerful killers. They are the biggest cats in the Americas and can catch big animals like deer! Poison dart frogs (毒箭蛙) also live in the Amazon. (3) Their bright colors warn other animals that their skin is poisonous.
(4) Even though jaguars and poison dart frogs have special skills to live, they have the biggest danger—humans. The Amazon Rainforest is getting smaller fast. Farmers cut down trees to make room for crops, and people destroy large areas to sell wood. (5) Scientists warn that losing the Amazon could also change the world's climate. Many people are fighting to protect the forest, but there is not much time left—both for the animals and for us.
A.However,these animals are in trouble.
B.Like jaguars, these tiny frogs can be deadly.
C.If this continues, thousands of animals could lose their homes forever.
D.The Amazon is very important because it makes lots of the world's oxygen.
E.Since dangerous animals live in the Amazon, people must be careful when exploring the forest.
七、阅读理解。
Bees give us honey and help plants grow. But the little things are facing many problems. A new study says
wars (战争) are bad for bees. In countries with wars, people grow fewer (更少的) kinds of crops (庄稼).When farms have fewer plants, flowers bloom (开花) for only a short time. So,bees couldn't find food easily for the rest of the year. Also, people need more food,so farmers are turning more land into farms. This takes away the homes of animals and plants.
Air pollution (污染) is another problem for bees. It makes it hard for bees to live, grow, and have babies. In places with dirty air and few plants, bees die (死) more easily. They also visit fewer flowers and this is bad for pollination (授粉).This means fewer flowers grow, and there is less food for everyone.
We need to help bees. We can use electric (电的) cars to keep the air clean. We can also plant more flowers with pollen (花粉) to give bees food.
(1)What do bees do according to the text?
A.They only give us honey.
B.They help plants grow and give us honey.
C.They cause problems for plants.
D.They don't like to help plants.
(2)What does the underlined "This" in the Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Wars.
B.Fewer kinds of crops.
C.Farmers turning more land into farms.
D.Homes of animals and plants.
(3)What does air pollution make it hard for bees to do according to the text?
A.Find honey.
B.Live,grow and have babies.
C.Fly high.
D.Make friends.
(4)What can we do to help bees?
A.Stop all the wars.
B.Use fewer electric cars.
C.Plant more trees.
D.Plant more flowers with pollen.
(5)What is the main idea of the passage?
A.Bees are important for plants.
B.Bees are facing many problems.
C.How to protect the environment.
D.How to stop wars.
Part 1: Read and Explore
Should animals be used for entertainment?
Animals are often trained to please people in places like zoos and circuses. Many people see it as natural and don't think it's a problem, while others believe animals should be treated with more respect.
Let's find out the reasons given by both sides.
First of all, those who believe it is OK to use animals for entertainment say that most animals have a safer and more enjoyable life in the entertainment business. Don't forget that animals in the wild often have short and unpleasant lives. However, they are protected from danger when they are kept for entertainment. Secondly, places like zoos also help educate people about animals they might never see anywhere else. In fact, it's the only way that most people will ever see a real wild animal. And lastly, they say, animals are able to get used to and enjoy life in the places that human beings provide for them.
However, others strongly disagree with using animals for entertainment. They believe that animals should also have the right to enjoy freedom just like humans do. Many animals kept for entertainment live in small, unnatural spaces and don't receive good care. Being around humans also changes their natural behaviors. This means they can't show us much about how they really live in the wild.
While there are good points on both sides, using animals for entertainment does more harm than good. As a result, we should focus on protecting animals in their natural environment where they truly belong.

1. B
2. a, c, d
Task 2: Talk About Details(细节梳理)
3. never see;danger;natural behaviors
Task 3: Be a Problem Solver(问题解决)
One possible answer: First, you can provide larger and more natural living spaces for the animals instead of small, unnatural ones—this helps avoid changing their natural behaviors and lets them live more comfortably. Second, you can design activities that show the animals’ real wild habits (like their natural foraging or moving ways) instead of training them to do unnatural tricks, so people can learn about how they truly live in the wild. Finally, you can focus on protecting the animals’ natural needs first (such as ensuring they get good care) while letting people know about them, which aligns with the idea of valuing animals’ well-being over just entertainment.
