On November 29th, 2024, the theme and main logo of the 2025 Spring Festival Gala were introduced.
The theme of the gala is “Si Si Ru Yi, Sheng Sheng Bu Xi”, which carries deep cultural and symbolic meanings. It hopes to send New Year wishes to Chinese people all over the world.
The design (设计) of the main logo is creative. The logo is made up of two Oracle Bone Script (甲骨文) characters “Si”. They are put together in a symmetrical (对称) way, making it look like “Yi (乙)” and “Si (巳)”. The lunar year 2025 is the Year of Yisi. The logo also looks like the traditional Ruyi pattern which is a symbol of good luck and happiness. This is a clever link between the Year of the Snake (the Year of Yisi) and Ruyi pattern.
The Chinese character “Si” has caught people’s eyes. In traditional Chinese timekeeping, a day is divided into 12 parts, and each part is two hours long.
