Unit 1 Happy Holiday Section B Lesson 6 Project (4a-4c) & Reflecting教学设计
I. Teaching Objectives
Knowledge:
Use the simple past tense to describe holiday chores (e.g., “I took out the rubbish”).
Recall indefinite pronouns (anything, nothing) from Section A.
Ability:
Conduct a class survey (4a - 4b) about “Who does the most chores at home?”.
Reflect on holiday learnings (e.g., “What makes home comfortable?”).
Affective:Value teamwork in surveys and appreciate the meaning of “home”.
II. Teaching Key & Difficult Points
Key:Design survey questions (e.g., “How often do you do chores?”) and present findings.
Difficult:Analyze survey data to find “top 3 chores” (requires simple data sorting).
III. Teaching Procedures
(一)Warm - up: Chore Sharing(5 mins)
Ask: “What chores do you do at home? Raise your hand if you ‘sweep the floor’!”
List common chores on the board (take out rubbish, do dishes...).
(二)Project: Chore Survey(20 mins)
Do 4a: Tick your chores (add 1 if needed, e.g., “water plants”).
Do 4b: Design survey Qs (e.g., “What chores do you do? How often?”).
Conduct surveys: Walk around to ask 3 classmates, record answers (e.g., “Li Hua: sweeps floor, 3 times a week”).
(三)Reflecting: Home & Growth(15 mins)
Do 4c - 4d: Report findings (e.g., “Most students do dishes—top 3 chores are dishes, sweep floor, take out rubbish.”).
Discuss reflecting Qs: “How can chores make home comfortable? What did you learn about ‘home’?”
Sample answer: “Chores show care—cleaning the bathroom makes it a peaceful place.”
(四)Summary & Homework(5 mins)
Summary:Recap survey steps (tick → ask → report) and key reflections (“Home is a place of care and memories”).
Homework:Write a 3 - sentence reflection: “One thing I learned from this project is... Chores teach me... Home means to me...”
IV. Reflection
Surveys may take longer if students struggle to approach peers. Pair shy students with outgoing ones to support participation.
