I. Teaching Objectives
1. Knowledge Objectives
Students will master vocabulary related to Sports Day, including sports (e.g., running, high jump, long jump, hurdles), event results (e.g., first place, second place, champion), and phrases (e.g., take part in, work hard, have fun, get in the way).
Students will be able to understand Danny’s report about Sports Day, extract information to complete tables and conversations, and write short passages about their school sports meets.
2. Ability Objectives
Improve reading and writing skills: Extract information from the report to complete tasks like table filling, conversation completion, and passage writing.

III. Teaching Procedures (45 Minutes in Total)

Danny: Grade 7, won fourth place in a running event
Check answers as a class to ensure comprehension.
Activity 2: Key Information Extraction
Teacher asks questions like “What made Danny get fourth place? What did Danny’s teammates say about winning?”
Students answer to highlight key details about participation, results, and sportsmanship from the report.
Step 3: Writing & Task Completion (10 Minutes)
Activity 1: Conversation Completion
Students complete the conversation (Exercise 3) using the correct forms of phrases (take part in, work hard, have fun, get in the way).
