范文:
Chinese people have been celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival for centuries. On that day, people often make zongzi and share them with families. And they also have dragon boat races on the river in most areas of China.
There is a story about this festival. A long time ago in China, there was a famous poet names Chu Yuan. He was one of the emperor’s most loyal servants. However, the emperor’s advisors were jealous of Chu Yuan. They said terrible things to make him look bad .Unfortunately, the emperor believed them and forced the poet to return to his village. Upset about losing the emperor’s trust, Chu Yuan decided to end his own life. So on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month , he jumped into Miluo River and drowned himself. The people in the village were so sad to hear about his death. As a way of paying respects, they threw zongzi into the river and beat on drums.
After this, people started the tradition of making zongzi and holding boat races to honor this noble poet.
What have we learnt in this lesson?
Though far apart, we are
still able to share the
beauty of the moon
under the same sky.
Our hearts are full forever…
