◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Give an introduction about the family hotline.
2.Have students talk about the family hotline.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Ask students to listen and choose what problem Tina has with her mother.
2.Check the answer.
Step 3 Phonetics in use
1.Explain how to pronounce /uː/,/ʊ/,/ʌ/ to students.
2.Play related pronunciation videos for students to watch and learn.
3.Have students read related words and correct their pronunciation.
Step 4 Work on Activity 2
1.Listen again and complete the chart.
2.Check the answers.
3.Have students work in pairs and discuss what problems they have with their parents and give advice to each other.
4.Invite some students to show their thoughts with the class.
5.Guide students to give examples to support their ideas in a conversation using expressions like For example,...and Here’s...
Step 5 Work on Activity 3
1.Have students listen and complete the conversation.
2.Listen again and check the answers.
3.Have students talk about how Tina and her mother soften their language.
4.Give students some topics and ask them to talk about one of them with their partners by using expressions like I’m sorry,but...and It’s a bit difficult to talk about...to soften their language.
Step 6 Work on Activity 4
1.Ask students to work in pairs and role⁃play Mike and his father’s conversation using useful expressions on p112.
2.Invite some students to act out their conversations.
3.Ask students to talk about what they have learnt about family communication in this section.
4.Share and summarise.
◇教学反思◇
本节课是一节听说课。听的部分,大部分学生能听懂大意并正确书写。但仍有部分学生无法正确掌握/uː/、/ʊ/、/ʌ/的发音,课下还需要更多的语音练习。说的活动中,学生能够就与父母相处之间的问题提供合理的建议,并能够合理巧妙地运用这个章节所学的一些沟通技巧。整节课,学生的积极性和参与度都很高。
