Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Have students talk about what they can get from their hobbies and friends who share the same hobby.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Have students look at the pictures and answer the following two questions.
(1)What hobby do the pictures show?
(2)What can you get from this hobby?
2.Invite some students to give their answers.Give them praise and advice.
Step 3 Work on Activity 2
1.Have students read the story and think about what Emma’s adventure is.
2.Invite some students to share their ideas.
3.Have students read the story again and underline the unknown words and expressions.
4.Explain the important language points.
Step 4 Work on Activity 3
1.Have students complete the notes with the words and expressions from the story.
2.Invite some students to give their answers.
3.Check the answers.
Step 5 Work on Activity 4
1.Have students think about the questions in Activity 4.
